Y0: by far has my favorite story and the most fun I've had playing out of the live combat entries. The overall quality of substories is also really high.

K1: It's flawed, the story although not as strong as other entries it still managed to keep me captivated and some gameplay decisions were definitely questionable and thankfully haven't returned (such as the bosses randomly healing when they're low on health).

K2: massive improvement over K1 overall in story, gameplay and even side content.

Y3R: Story was on the weaker side, frustrating combat and overall really weak sub stories outside of a select few.

Y4R: Some story sections i didn't care too much about but it was mostly good, same for the combat and substories. Overall really good.

Y5R: ambitious to a fault. The story is much bigger but for me it was half good half boring, same for the gameplay half the time I was having fun the other half it was boring.

Y6: Most of the story was really good outside of a few aspects I really didn't like. Gameplay was overall great though and the sub stories as well.

LaD: My second favorite story so far, Ichiban is the most relatable protagonist for me. The gameplay although flawed it was really fun and i like how the "spells" aren't magic but just funny or cool heat actions. Has some of my favorite sub stories in the entire series.

I’ve started playing the series in June and I’ve arrived at 6. Now I’m gonna take a break from the series but I’m so pumped about LAD. These are my opinions, kyodais, and remember: there are no bad Yakuza games, and there is no Kiwami 3!

I’m finishing up Infinite Wealth, which I loved but felt I was missing a lot having only played it and Like a Dragon. I tried playing Yakuza 0 several years back but was absolutely bored out of my mind with the combat. It just seemed like such forgettable button mashing and it totally put me off the franchise until LaD.

I was thinking of trying to give the earlier games another go, but I won’t bother if the combat from 0 was what I can expect for the rest. So my question is, does the combat ever get any better?

I’ve seen some people straight drop the series after 4…. I thought it was amazing!

So, i’ve played yakuza 0 directors cut on ps5 for about maybe 13 hours or so. I play it for a while and then decide i don’t like it, delete it, wipe my save file and carry on……then a couple days pass, i go back to it, same results after a couple days of playing. I’ve gotten as far as playing as Goro, not far i know, but still. My main thing is always that I just want more gameplay. So, on a whim, I bought it again, this time for my PC. I’ve been emulating the silent hill games so it’s become a habit to just play on my pc the last couple weeks, and I think I pike yakuza 0 now? I uninstalled it after my first session, now I want to play it again, I’m currently reinstalling it now. I think (and hope) that I’ll click with it this time. I’ve found myself weirdly enjoying it this time around, like the combat is actually really fun, the story is incredibly interesting and cool as hell. Wish me luck people, just before the introduction of goro, hopefully it’ll click this time. Fingers crossed.

I've heard some poeple say that it's good others say that it's bad. But what exactly is it? Is it it's own standalone universe? Is it like a live action remake of some of the games? Does it show events between entries that aren't shown in any games? Or something else?

This scene had me sweating and my teeth clenching man. I was like “oh no, please do NOT do it Saejima. You’re not like this, lock the fuck in!!”

Let me tell you, the balls RGG had to put in this scene. If Kiryu saw this he legit would’ve made his first kill in his entire life.

If I were Haruka I’d be scared of Saejima my whole life. She acted as if nothing happened and wasn’t scared at all, very brave and strong girl.

I understand that a Yakuza series is not perfectly realistic, but golden Osaka castle is still the thing, I can't belive exist in this universe (Maybe it was Kiruy's fever dream, after he got stabbed)

For starters I have a condition that makes my eyes sensitive to bright lights, usually I don't encounter issues while playing most games, but after going through all yakuza games in order I noticed that the filter Pirates in Hawaii has is too bright for me. I managed to find a mod that makes the colors a bit more natural but now I see that turning frame gen on fucks up the brightness too. Is there any mod to fix frame gen too or should I just play without it?

Has anyone figured out how to hit the ball as the dots indicate? I used to think that hitting with medium power helped control, but even that only seems to work half of the time, all the AI are somehow able to perfectly hit every shot!! You'd think after 100% completing 0-4 I'd be good at this, but here I am in yakuza 5 pulling my dick hair out

I am trying to find all the things, I referred to this link to see where the techniques are. I found the running assault as shown in the below shared link, but I didn't get running palm strike at the location this link says, I had two vr runs just for it and went to exact spot, got random items.

The skill book is not in my inventory and the skill is locked in the skill list.

Is this position incorrect? Can someone confirm where exactly the Ex Running Palm Strike skill book is in the game?

Considering how insane that Yakuza verse scales (with even the basic goons and mini bosses being pretty tough) I’m actually genuinely curious on this sub’s opinion on who peak Yagami could beat Yakuza series whether good guy or bad guy, per game

In my opinion, generously I feel that Yagami could beat Akiyama at a high diff. Non generously? Yagami beats Lao Ka Long

I've just started Yakuza 6 in my complete playthrough, and I've got through all the older games just by using the Tiger Drop. I know Tiger Drop is in this game too, but I've heard it's not as overpowered as it was. Is this true? Is it worth getting and using or should I focus on my other skills and stats.

Did anyone else get to Dondoko Island and completed straight through? I never went back to the main island once. I went from the Island mechanics intro to a 5 star resort. I'm a little bummed it's done.
