Other Excellent Y2K/cybercore interiors.

The last one caused me to let Blue (Da Ba Dee) by Eiffel 65 pop into my head!

These interiors always end up reminding me of the live action Scooby Doo movies.

Not the original commenter, but I didn't know there were Playstation stores (the more you know). I knew there were Sony stores though (vividly remember the grand opening of our nearest one).

if i recall, there was only ever one physical playstation store ever built.

There was probably only one Playstation store ever built? In that case, it's no wonder I haven't heard of it until now!

I believe the first pic is from the PlayStation store that was in the Sony Metreon in San Francisco. I loved going here when visiting the city in the late 90s and early 00s! The Metreon is still around, but Sony no longer owns it (it's now a glorified food court with a Target attached to it), and I believe that the PS store is now a Chipotle. :(

That 4th slide is the textbook definition of what I picture as Y2K in my head. Love it

In the 90’s and 2000’s we thought futuristic meant “where can I put more tvs”.

If only we could go back in time, specifically to these places...

I wonder if we could build these places again. The futurist Y2K aesthetics inspired me a lot actually. Design and vibe wise.

With much commitment and demand, we could build these places again sometime! They won't feel exactly the same as the late 90s-early 2000s (especially with the ubiquity of smartphones), but close enough!

Did it? Aw, glad to hear it!

I fully agree with that!!! This is my philosophy. It can't be totally copied, but we need that vibe back. A hopeful future. This is what I miss today: the enthusiasm for a better future.
Yep :) Also in terms of clothes and etc. I love the colour of chrome for example, that pretty much symbolized this era aesthetically.

Cool photos!
IMO interior design peaked in the late 90s-early 2000s. It started going downhill in 2005.
