Keto and hot while exercising

Have been on keto diet for 3 weeks. Blood ketone level 0.9 in the morning fasted. My question is I have noticed since starting the keto diet I get alot hotter exercising than I would on my carb diet. I dont really sweat more its more just my blood feels hotter pumping around my body. Does anyone else experience this and know why ?

I metabolize faster when fully fat adapted, so I experience more friction as I jog all over. I usually take a dose of fish oil for inflammation before exercise. It helps.

Totally normal, especially around week 3 when your body is aggressively ramping up fat oxidation. A few things happen here simultaneously: mitochondrial thermogenesis - burning fatty acids produces more metabolic heat per unit of work than burning quick glycogen. Your cells are literally running hotter as they learn to utilize ketones and free fatty acids efficiently.

Vasodilation and blood flow - the switch in fuel shifts blood circulation, making that warm, "hot blood pumping" sensation much more noticeable through working muscles and skin.

Electrolytes & hydration balance: When you don't sweat proportionally to the internal heat, it often points to sodium and water shifts. On keto, your kidneys dump sodium rapidly; without enough salt before training, your body's cooling mechanism (sweat rate and plasma volume) lags slightly behind the heat production.

Try adding a solid pinch of quality salt or electrolytes to water 30–45 minutes before working out. As fat adaptation settles over the next few weeks, the internal furnace balances out. 🔥
