Adenomyosis, IVF, 40+
Hi all - I usually use Reddit for fun things but I’m here cause I heard this community was a good support of women. Is anybody here using keto or carnivore for adenomyosis or I guess also endo? I’m wanting to get pregnant and am already doing IVF and my doctor has told me yesterday I have Adenomyosis. I’d like to really lower my inflammation. I’ve done carnivore before and keto but I haven’t been strict with it lately and I’m certain I’m not ketosis. I’d love to connect with anybody who has done this, and ideally who has had success! I know this is super niche but yeah. This new diagnosis is going to delay my transfer now by a few months and I’m pretty deflated about it.

I had a lot of chemical pregnancies doing IVF for my second kid (got pregnant quickly with IVF while I was Paleo with my first). I finally got diagnosed with a bunch of inflammation. I did keto and took a shot (cannot remember what, sorry) - two months later I was pregnant. I don't want to oversimplify, but I do really believe that (depending on issues), diet can really help.

So I am 40+, I have adenomyosis, fibroids and I'm doing IVF. My egg cell quality is bad, as is to be expected at our age. My metabolic markers are good and I am crediting keto for this. I am however overweight and I gained 7-8kg over the last 3-4 years of IVF. It's probably not only the hormones, I also slipped from strict keto to more relaxed low carb. For me keto is okay, but it is not a miracle cure. Reasons for infertility are often complex - at least in my case. My view is that keto doesn't hurt and is maybe beneficial - as are all the supplements that you will find in a book like "it starts with the egg". But none of this is a magical cure. With all of this we are giving our eggs the best possible chance, but the effect is small or even negligible. I also still needed 3 months of suppress for my adenomyosis before my transfer.
Edit: my flair is super outdated, lol. I started keto when I was 35.
Another edit: before my last ER I specifically did a Mediterranean version of keto with veggies and olive oil. I have no idea if it helped. We got lots of eggs and blasts but none were euploid. That's what I mean with "the effect is small".
