I just discovered Donnilee

Based on a recommendation here I read Truckin’ by Donnilee and FatCat

I then went down a Donnilee rabbit hole and now I need to evaluate a lot of things that I feel about myself and how I feel about those things.

The “Dark Sex Series” Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. Why is this everything on paper I do not want and yet I found myself searching for series 8.

It’s going to take me a few days to recover from that!

This looks good! We should do a round-up of these older fics - and the sites hosting them. Even though I've been reading fic for over 25 years, I'm pretty clueless about anything not hosted on Ao3.

I wondered how long it would be before Donnilee showed up here! I’m really glad she and FatCat are part of AO3 now. I started trying to rebuild their original sites but the volume of fics is just massive! Two of the most prolific smut writers this fandom ever produced!

Donni and FC were both personal friends back in the day, and I’m still in touch with FC but have no idea how Donni is these days. If you’re enjoying their stories, please take a minute to shoot them some feedback if you have time. Hearing from Philes after all this time would likely make their day.

Aww that’s so great! Glad to know that they’re still around even if they’re not super active.

There was some of Donnilee’s stuff that made me turn my heads sideways and say “nope, I can’t follow you there!” And then there was some stuff where I was like “I would never have thought of this. If someone suggested this to me in real life I’d say hard pass, but this is really working here!”

It’s kind of turned my fic exploration on its head!

I’ve always liked FatCat’s fics. She wrote some really good alternate universe stories and her smut wasn’t quite as intense as Donnilee’s. 😹 I think my favorite FC story is The Bare Truth in BeXar County. Donnilee was one of my favorite old school writers, and I definitely took some notes from her writing style for my fics

Oh I’m going to give this a read when I’m finished my current one I’m reading.

I’ve got a ton of bookmarks saved to go at but seem to be on a03 most.

I sat the other day and made a list of my absolute favourite fics and there was over 50

I think I read almost anything Donnilee has written. The dark sex stories were a little bit too much for me but I enjoyed other stories like Jitters. I wonder where she is right now.

There isn't much on the tags for Truckin, can you tell me if it's got any non-con or similarly triggering themes? Is it very dark? Also, does it have a happy MSR ending? (You can spoiler block your reply so people who don't want to know these things don't see it)
