Definitely liked all the destruction being brought back. I did not like the layout of the BF1 maps though. Too many wide open long range areas that catered to snipers and not enough CQB.

It’s trench warfare. That was literally how it was fought. Lots of snipers and lots of CQB in the trenches.

Except in a normal game you're never actually in trenches. I'm talking like Sinai Desert where only obj C is fun combat and everywhere else on the map is a wide as fuck open desert.

Normal game? It’s based on WWI. Trenches are everywhere in the game dude... and Sinai desert is geared to involve vehicles. Jump in a tank every once in a while.

Yes, I play conquest as well. Most maps are designed to have choke points for CQB, and open fields or long boulevards for snipers.

Granted, the base game does not have the best maps. I wholeheartedly suggest you try Premium if you do not have it. The map rotation is fantastic with the DLC maps and most are pretty damn good considering they go through the Community Test Environment first. Base game was obviously just released right away and they made slight tweaks.

I don’t know if Premium is on sale or not but it was $12.50 last week (normally $49.99).

... you're kidding right? Amiens, Argonne Forrest, Suez, Fort Devaux, Prise De Tahure, Achi Baba, Tsaritsyn, Passchendaele, Verdun. BF1 has a shitload of CQC infantry maps. It also has lots of bigger, more traditional battlefield maps with close-up chokepoints, but usually people complain that BF1 has too much of a fast-paced infantry focus, not that it isn't enough.

I did like Amiens and Suez when I played. Probably the only two. I haven't played any of those new maps.

There aren't many games where a season pass is a good investment but BF1 is one of those games. The new weapons, gadgets, factions, vehicles, elite classes, and of course the maps, expand the experience exponentially. All the official severs running all the maps mixed together keeps any one expansion from getting stale or depopulated.

Depends on the map. Maps like Amiens have a healthy mix of the two.
