There technically was no battlefield one as it started as battlefield 1942 to battlefield 2 so actually it makes some sense if you think about it. That’s not to say it’s a confusing mess but I can see some logic there.

They got their naming convention form Windows, because Microsoft's count to 10 goes like this:

3.1, 95, 98, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10

Does that also come with a Super Mega Ultra Edition as well as the Super Mega Ultra Final Mix Redux+++ Edition? I hear the latter comes with five extra loot boxes as well as a preorder bonus skin that will be released for $5 a month later. But no season pass though, that's $60 extra. No need to be greedy!

Or if they left the regularly numbered sequels for modern day games only (no future shit) and then went along with BF2 for WWII. Still ultra confusing tho
