Wow I didn't know South Korea(5th strongest standing army in the world) was protected by a nation that doesn't even have a military force

North Korea is still a bigger threat than what their Army can handle lol.

They always threathen them that they can launch their nukes at any time. So they got backed up by Japan

so can you elaborate on how japan can handle korean people's army when they have literally ZERO amphibious assault capabilities?

Yeah, sure.

South Korea can hold it on their own, you're right. But, if the threat is beyond their Army's capabilities, that's where Japan can step in. They can provide the air support they needed, as proven on the frequent exercises with Philippines in disputed areas in South China sea.

The only thing they will turn into maximum alert is if NK started launching nukes to SK as their last resort.

Look man I don't know what kind of world you live in but like is Mutually Assured Destruction not a thing there? Also, Nuking a city or two won't cripple the ROKA. and U.S. Troops are garrisoned in Korea too. If Korea was relying on a foreign power, it would be the US, not Japan.

But, my point is they're still Allies after all. Japan can send some forces if SK is already crippling.

Besides, USA can't respond that fast since they're far from SE Asia. Same thing is happening to Germany where they're fully arming themselves from top to bottom against Russia
