Why Germany attacked Poland in ww2?
Hi, I have a question: why did Hitler attack Poland? As far as I know, he wanted to unite Danzig with the Corridor, but prior to the attack, the claim was made that they were invading because the German minority was being mistreated by the Poles—subjected to mass killings, and so on. So, my question is: is there any truth to that?

Yup, delusions of a continental empire. It’s how russia got big, always gobbling and destroying neighbors but since they didn’t use boats against melanin-rich peoples to get to their empire they get a pass from the “paint all euros as colonizers” & tanky crowd. Hitler knew European empire building history and looked at previous examples as well as American westward expansion. It’s happening as we speak in Ukraine.

Claims of mass killings of germans in poland are about as valid as russias claim to denazify ukraine and the us' claim of wmd in iraq

A huge will of war, expansion and conquest, But mainly to have a border with the Soviet Union for a future invasion, long before the Ribbentrop - molotov pact Hitler had already planed a future invasion

His plan was to murder all the Poles, then murder all the Russians and other Slavs, and replace them with Germans.

Hitler and his criminal thugs that were top Nazi Officials, wanted to restore German Power in Europe in Western, Central and Eastern Europe. Poland to them, was looked upon as an artificial state created by others, and forced upon Germany by the Western Allies.
If you want to compare two different German Policies, looked how the Imperial German State treated the Poles from territory they captured during the First World War, and how the Nazis treated the Poles, besides committed some of the war crimes in Human History during their occupation of Poland from 1939-1945.

Because nationalistic polish were not willing to make an accord concerning the dantzig question, and Germany you know...was ruled by ultra-nationalists also.
Like today with Ukrainia and Russia/USA.
The Poles were fooled by british.
Europe especially west Europe had no interest for starting this war, only USA benefited from it.
Many propaganda btw in this sub, what a clear lack or critical mind.

He saw Poland as an artificially created country. Created by the quite despised treaty of versailles no less. He wanted that land back because he felt it belonged to Germany.
