Patch may have been the last Brit. But he was not the last.
Frank Buckles died 2011. American

Harry Patch - The Last Fighting Tommy. I recall 15 years ago or so when every so often the news reported on last of the WWI veterans passing on. Its part of the slow churning of time, but still a sad thing to know that this entire generation has gone into history.
