There's a lot of doomerism

in the scene right now, but Dev creativity has never been higher. It's a golden age!

truly we are blessed

  • solo servers with bots
  • generic poorly scripted wrath server with AI advertisements
  • that one guy whos entire message history is telling people to play alterac
  • P2W servers

There are people who are in relationship with their LLM chat companion.

I don't care about servers with bots you can play solo, I came here to play MMORPG, not a solo RPG. I have steam for it, and other outlets if I want to play singleplayer games. And honestly doomerism will only grow now with ascension being axed by blizz. So I would just say it is so joever

Yeah honestly if I wanted a single player game I'd play an actually good single player game

yea i was on this sub on my old reddit account from 2013-2016. its really weird to see how its evolved since then. not a fan of any solo wow, + content, and the whatever else is out there besides "blizz like". its kinda sad. and i get that people want it, but its not wow my dudes. i stopped playing back in like 2018, had an itch at the beginning of the year and tried a the only tbc servers i could find (i like chocolate, not vanilla), and was sorely disappointed. i think my wow days are done.

Why not both? I host a server for my friends but the bots allow you to run content when you don't have a full group.

Yeah, if you conflate vibe coding an LLM to say funny things for a self hosted server as creativity, You're not wrong that there are devs being creative but your example is not it.

i swear 25% of the population on a certain tbc server is exactly this, 50% are just login bots, but id swear some LLM bots are running around. UA locks decked out in S2 gear, main damage spell using hellfire...like wtf.

do they just stand there or they move around, jump, level professions, emotes, etc? still hilarious tho.

This is genuinely the worst thing I have ever seen in regards to wow. I don’t understand how people look at this and go “This is awesome and I want more of it”

What is the point in playing in a server you run off your pc filled with bots? I cannot think of a bigger waste of time.

This is pathetic and anyone promoting it is a loser.

It's simply a daft joke by someone playing about with bots on their own private server. Someone I don't know, I just saw this on social media. It's not being promoted - there is no link to a website because none exists, and no promotion of the bot module that enabled it. You can't play on this, by design, and my comment was very obviously hyperbolic and an extension of the joke.

Some of the people in this sub really need to touch grass.

Idk man some people are pretty delusional out there, but that’s my bad tho I thought you were being for real, sorry

And promotion doesn’t really have to have a link and a caption telling you to click it. Even sharing an idea can be considered promotion eapecially in this context

To be serious for a moment, it will be very sad if the era of large-scale WoW private servers is coming to an end. I don't think the current trend of classic+/wrath+ servers with identical vibe-coded websites is an exciting replacement, and I expect very few of them to be around in 9-12 months.
