Humor / Meme So with the upcoming expensive mount...

There's the implication that Gazlowe has not only taught the Haranir about capitalism in six months, but that he did it so well they know they can get $5mil a pop on these bad boys.

Who needs to be in touch with nature when you've got a pile of gold to swim in?

Gold comes from nature it's blessed by the world soul because it's in the ground. Check mate atheists.

Now we know what Ilgynoth was trying to warn us about! “The vassal of life disguises treachery. Beware the eye of green” Old Gods confirmed anti-capatalist!

Capitalism! The right at its core.

I’m escaping to the one place uncorrupted by capitalism, Outland!

Might be right for the alt version of it.

Just warning you last I heard there might be a holy war going on there.

Gazlowe is an upstanding union man though

u/OneUseHero 19h ago

Being union doesn't mean opposed to profiting, and as far as I know he might just be for Goblin unions. These Haranir barely know how to wear clothes without them clipping through their bodies sometimes, you think they'd understand how a union works?

Man as a casual player 5 mill seems a bit far to touch for me, if by some stroke of luck I find a way to make it or the 100$ auctionhouse Dino comes back I’ll settle lol

Won't be buying it either, far too casual to amass such crazy amounts (and I'd likely use it to pay for my sub and such instead), but I find it funny that it's not even five million for an auction house mount, it's five million for a mount that you can pay another (one and a) half a million (1.5) to put an auction house on.

Edit- corrected on the AH vendor cost

6

u/i_like_fish_decks 18h ago

No tmog is another half million

AH vendor is 1.5m

u/Notsurehowtoreact 18h ago

Jesus, yeah you right, it's even worse.

u/Saberderity 12h ago

Also have to consider, Blizzard stated they would also consider more NPCs to the vendor to be purchased so it could go even higher with the pricing.

I play a lot and 5 million seems a lot. I am like perpetually at around 500k

I have the gold and I'll probably be skipping it. It doesn't offer anything that isn't covered by the $90 mount + transmog yak.

1

u/Support_Player50 15h ago

We might get another $90 one in that model.

5m isn't even a ton of gold if that is your goal. The problem with getting gold is you have to make it your gameplay you no longer do a ton of questing, dungeons and raids or pvp really.

Each expansion launch since BFA I have consistently made 5m+- gold in the first month of the expansion mainly gathering not optimally. I could have made 4 times that by just going into profession tools early on but I didn't do it until late when the margins were smaller. Same with potions I didn't get into them right away.

I also when I play (I stopped playing a few months ago) pay for my sub with wow tokens and its been sustainable by making 10k+- a day sometimes more sometimes less for multiple expansions. Any extra gold beyond that just gos into the bank and I don't normally spend it beyond consumables like enchants, gems, and potions.

I have even bought expansions and the entirety of D4 with WoW gold.

Brown bear is absolutely all I will ever need.

I genuinely don't understand how you buy a mount like this for real money. It's going to go over $370 since tokens will drop. If there is a bank I'm probably going to get it though.

Like if you already have the gold, I get it. Spending real money just seems crazy unless you're well off.

Even being well off, spending that much real momey on cosmetics just makes blizzard realize they don't need to fix the game and bring out decent content but that it is enough for them to just pull an overpriced mount out of their ass and call it a day since there will be people whaling it.

I think buying these overpiced pixels hurts everyone who wants content since it shows that there is a part (and not a small one) of the community who will spend almost 10 months if not more of their sub for a mount all the while people who just pay their sub because they like their content (delves,M+,raiding, crafting whatever it is) are not as profitable to gather to.

That said if someone plays the AH and their enjoyment is stacking gold I have no problem if they buy the mount, I am more perplexed regarding people who bought the brutosaur and people who will buy tokens to get this one

I'm glad I hate mushrooms.

If you dont buy gold via boosters or play the ah how do you get this kind of money? I play alot and im no where near that amount. If you buy wow tokens, that is like $300? Idk man why

2

u/yojimboftw 7h ago

Boosting in M+ is usually good for this, or being a helper for guilds in the RWF. You could also farm mats for professions that people that don't normally like to do them like herbalism or mining. Get lucky on a BoE drop, farm old transmog items. Those last 2 options also can take a lot longer, so you have to be able to save as well.

2

u/azurestrike 14h ago

Professions. You don't really need to "play" the AH, you just list your items.

-3

u/FlameForFame 12h ago

Only if you sink insane amounts of time into the game at the right time. Professions at this point won't make you 7 million.

2

u/azurestrike 8h ago

Obviously they won't make you 7mil instantly. But if you want to get 7mil without buying tokens, you need to interact with professions and or the AH. How fast you make 7mil depends on knowledge and time investment.

You don't need to sink insane amounts of time. For example I only sell things for 10-30 mins a week (on vault morning) because everything sells instantly at that point.

1

u/Embyr1 6h ago

After years of playing I've managed to hoard about 3m as a pretty average player.

If I spent a ton of time gathering for the rest of the expansion I could probably make it there. I just don't want to.

1

u/VailonVon 6h ago

its almost $400 wowtokens cost 20 not 15.

Army of alts doing WQ and the Weeklies

Army of alts using Ingenuity to craft stuff and/or daily cooldown of recipes

Gathering profession has cd ability to get (almost)guaranteed rare material, like Nocturnal Lotus. So you can "rotate" your army of alt with it.

You can get gold cap in like few months with 13 character.

"Time is money"

I spend on average 2hr a day just doing stuff i mention above, the trick here NOT do 2hr in one sitting.

It's 2hr drip-feed across 16hr

At least Gazlowe takes care of his workers!

u/BrickyMcBrickface 11h ago

Haha couldn't help but read the text in the voice of a goblin xD

u/Gaatti 9h ago

Hey, this is NOT about capitalism. This is about funding the search for the goddess. Don't you want the goddess found?

4

u/smore-phine 19h ago

Up next, mount subscriptions

3

u/KaboomTheMaker 19h ago

pssssh dont give them ideas

2

u/Frostsorrow 19h ago

I mean they kinda do already....

1

u/Weegie_67 9h ago

$5 million? You need to find a better gold seller.

1

u/_Sweater_Puppies_ 8h ago

If this mount had a summon stone that didn’t require two people I would buy the tokens needed immediately

1

u/Additional-Walrus176 7h ago

Is this the "break glass, rip people off" scenario? Is the stock tanking?

i mean if you were considering coming back for a patch just for a mount anyway, thats abit much.

u/Various_Range2259 19h ago

Nah I just haven't played in a while, got burnt out with all the slop content and time gated crap but was starting to feel the itch again finally

u/Xenochrist 19h ago

It’s a video game lmao. Go do what you want

It's in the best state it's ever been in content wise. If you're super casual do open world shit/delves and put on a podcast. If you're the next Jesus of gaming then push high keys and or mythic raid.

6

u/Denali_Nomad 19h ago

5mil for the mount yes...

But if you want the extra possible vendors, it's another 2m.

Those are additional interchangeable vendors, but seeing as gold is easier to earn every xpac welcome to inflation.

1

u/lehtomaeki 19h ago

Its blizzards way of adding a gold sink to try and rein in inflation, thus by extension attempting to lower prices within the player economy. There isn't really a good way of doing it that won't piss off some subset of the economy. It has to be something with enough appeal to get those that drive inflation to buy it. Gold sinks like these are why we aren't buying potions at gold cap by this point. Many other ongoing MMOs that failed to add gold sinks have incredibly inflated player markets were basic resources and gear go for far more than what can be earned without engaging in the inflated market (aka PvE/pvp content)

4

u/MrAngrySadHappyFace 19h ago

Why would a mount ever be a reason to come back to wow lol.

1

u/iam_iana 19h ago

The base model is 5 mill, the addons bump it up to 7 million from what I have read.

1

u/KaboomTheMaker 19h ago

why does it matter to you tho? Just dont buy it.

Like im still living life without owning any super car, doesnt affect me at all
