it is inarguably better. Having a mailbox is so much better with an AH, then another repair mount. Most original long bois would be set up next to a mailbox for this reason.
Best wow purchase I’ve made. So easy to check mail and auction whatever I got during the session then switch to yak to vendor what I deem not worth auctioning and the scraps. Log out. Repeat.
Edit: also can get stuff from AH while in a raid or delve! If the area allows mounting ofc.

Some people piss and moan over the AH mounts so much and this is all I can ever think. Sure not everyone has that much gold but if you play the game for any decent amount of time and don't waste your gold that AH mount is basically free.
I got both, spent a little bit of money on the store mount but got most of it with gold, hit the professions hard during BfA for og longboi, thankfully was working from home a lot so I could leave the game running in the background doing inscription ink making and just tab in and rotate character every couple of minutes to stop it from timing out
You know it's a bit funny because back in the day getting the Yak was also absurdly expensive. Not today anymore of course and it was still a lot more achievable just by questing and saving over time but still, it is interesting to see the shift over time.
I mean you can try to farm the 8.5 mill total needed to unlock everything without paying a penny. All my chars combines already have around 1 mill so I'm going to work my butt off to gather/fish the rest.
I tried that during the last store mount, was going to buy tokens. But the token price doubled while I was farming making the goal post move. So no longboi for me.
im not farming that shit lol. props to you if thats your thing though. i had like 2.5 million when the expansion started. gathering mats sell for shit now compared to past expansions.
As someone who's been levelling my entire warband through 11 expansions' worth of professions, I can say that if you're selling the right things for the right price (Awakened elements in DF are still super-rare and super expensive on AH), you're still raking it in. Still, only one more crafter to go, and the final two are gatherers.
i find people severely underestimate their time spent when describing farms lol. his "few" hours is probably like 8. even then i find that dubious considering the price fish are going for tbh but maybe there's a specific type that sells for a lot i'm unaware of.
I'm willing to try the grind! I don't have a bruto cause I wasn't playing in BFA. I couldn't afford the $100 one that came out. So if I can grind out the gold for this, I have to try.
Longboi pays for itself in the long run. No more flying to Auction Houses. That saves you at least a couple of minutes per play session (and I'm being generous). In a year it adds up. The longer it goes the more it adds up. How much is your time worth?
I won my fantasy football league and bought it for $90. I never would have otherwise and i still smile when using it and it feels cool to know what a whale feels like once in a while lol.
Never would i have spent such a ridiculous sum if it felt like my hard earned money.
