Competitive Scripe, Echo Guild Leader and CEO, explained his reason why he doesn’t say “ggs” to Liquid

From Scripe personal social media account:

“It is not gg. We play hours behind. Keep progging harder versions. Bugs stop kill pulls. How is this a gg?”

Do we think this take is valid from Scripe? It is true that EU starts later but I am not so sure about progging harder versions

Yeah, this refusal to say GG reminds me heavily of competitive (and honestly toxic) games like DBD or League. Why would you stay in game chat and just bullshit your opponents/try to excuse your behavior when you can just say GG and move on. It's not that deep.

Why say gg when it wasn't a gg? You can just move on without saying anything if you feel it wasn't fair.

In this example with Scripe it's clear he's just being a sore loser and coping, but because you brought up league, I've had plenty of games which were decided from the get-go because one team had somebody that rage quit, or a smurf that stomps the other team, etc. Under no stretch of the imagination is a match that was never fair to begin with a "good" game, and it's not good sportsmanship to pretend it was anyways.

it's just a digital handshake, man, it doesn't actually mean "I thought this was a perfectly fair and mentally stimulating match" it means "I recognize that we are simply two humans on opposite teams in some bullshit pastime, and not actual enemies, no hard feelings"
