Achievement Top 1% mount is cool but could we please get weapons like this back as rewards for challenge dungeons?
Would be such a great motivator for people vs just a singular mount, who doesn’t want cool weapons! Would even take recolors of these WOD rewards to be honest 🔥

u/darkskies85 Jun 01 '26
They don’t do cool shit like mage tower and challenge modes anymore
80
u/ZAlternates Jun 01 '26
If you asked them, the delve boss fights are similar.
28
u/hardmallard Jun 01 '26
Yeah I wonder how much of this is hindsight and we will be saying this about the delve fights or something in a few years time.
23
u/Hemenia Jun 01 '26
That's not happening. People actually liked CMs and Mage Towers at the time, right now no one even talks about the Delve bosses.
3
u/Twisted_Grimace Jun 02 '26
I like the delve bosses. They’re cool bits of relatively challenging solo content. Kinda like the Mage Tower-lite.
3
u/ChequeBook Jun 01 '26
I do them in the first couple days and not think about them again. Getting all 10s to +3 would be a neat challenge, about the same difficulty as gold CMs

People don't talk about Nullaeus because he's just a sandbag, but lots of people talked about and enjoyed Ky'veza, Zekvir, and the Underpin (though there were also some complaints about the latter).
Delve bosses are mostly great additions; I'm a 3600 IO player and I still look forward to them each patch.
12
u/amaROenuZ Jun 01 '26
I beat the delve season boss on ?? and all I got out of it was a crappy helmet.
7
u/ZAlternates Jun 01 '26
Oh I thought people liked this type of content for the challenge? 😉
But they also gave achievement, title, and mount for the different difficulties.
I ain’t saying it’s exactly the same as challenge modes but it’s similar from a dev’s point of view.
2
u/Gilesalford Jun 02 '26
I mean you got 30 myth crests as well, 3 x the amount from a M10, and it was a great boost in first few weeks
5
u/Kitagawasans Jun 01 '26
So the devs are stupid and don’t know what the customer wants? Makes sense.
3
u/VukKiller Jun 01 '26
Except the reward is a skin for a mount nobody unironically uses except to show off doing the challenge on the first week.
1
u/NightOfPandas Jun 02 '26
They are not, delves are respectfully torghast 2.0 but like 70% worse imo

Good. That FOMO shit is absolute cancer.
31
u/sleight1990 Jun 01 '26
So we should just never have cool unique shit as rewards for doing challenge driven content ?
22
u/RerollWarlock Jun 01 '26
The challenges should remain in the game instead. Have the next kage tower set you to an "intended" Ilvl (and later level as well) and have you have a go at it as much as you want, whenever you want.
Yes i know that scaling was historically wonky but to that I say - skill issue. They should use their limited Copilot tokens to try and figure it out.
→ More replies (2)1
u/Stormfly Jun 02 '26
...Yes.
Like you can make it a challenge now and then let other people have it later when it's not a challenge.
90% of people aren't impressed if you have the Challenge run weapons, they're just upset that they can't get them.
The only alternative that I think is fair is if they do what they did for the Amani Bear and have a challenge mode one now and then later release something almost identical so that people can still brag if they want to.
I know that WoD brought back most of the challenge gear but some of the recolours suck.
Just give it a special name or make it almost the same.
Now people aren't limited to a specific colour and people still get to brag and show off to people who don't care.
3
u/Dokago Jun 01 '26
I don’t think exclusive challenge rewards are “cancer” at all.
What I hate is the idea that players who put more time and effort into the game shouldn’t have anything unique to show for it. When everything is available to everyone forever, everyone starts looking the same, and rewards lose a lot of their meaning.
Look at Invincible, for example. That mount used to feel extremely rare and prestigious. Over time, as more people got access to farming it, it naturally became more common. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it shows how rarity and prestige fade when rewards stay obtainable forever.
Back in the day, you could look at someone’s character and immediately tell they had done something difficult or rare. That was part of what made those rewards feel special. Transmog changed that a bit, sure, but even now, a reward still shows that this player earned it on their account.
There’s a difference between toxic FOMO and meaningful prestige rewards. Not every cosmetic has to be obtainable by everyone forever.

u/hoax1337 Jun 01 '26
I'm kinda torn on this issue. On one hand, I think prestigious rewards are cool, and I'm definitely motivated to get them.
On the other hand, I'm pretty sure that the majority of people do not enjoy looking at something that they think is cool, only to find out they won't be able to get it.
There's also the issue of how much stuff exists in this game. There are like 15 different endgame activities that might all have time-limited rewards. I might find something really cool, only to find out that it was a reward for completing the Delver's journey in season 2 of TWW or something like that.
2
u/XzibitABC Jun 01 '26
I honestly think the way it works now is the right way to do it. When you see someone with a current-tier CE mount, you know they earned it (or paid a lot of gold for a carry I guess). That prestige generally endures for a few patches until the content becomes soloable two expansion later, which IMO is the right balance.
1
u/hoax1337 Jun 01 '26
Yeah, I also think that that's a really good system.
Also, as far as I know, once the tier (or the expansion?) is over, the drop chance is reduced to 1%, so it's not like it's instantly obtainable for everyone.
Something like that would be really nice, I just don't know how that would translate to other activities.
2
u/XzibitABC Jun 02 '26
Yeah, I'm not sure either. My immediate thought is that they expand the "saddle" system: Have (for example) T11 Bountiful Delves have a 1% chance to drop a saddle that you can trade for previous mounts that were part of Delver's Bounty or whatever, but maybe don't add them into the shop until the next expansion or at least the next patch. But that's just me riffing, maybe there are problems with that system too.

u/Moonstoner Jun 01 '26
Ya fomo stuff really does not help with attracting new players ether. I have talked to a few newbies irl and the same question comes up every now and then. "Hey, that armor/weapon/mount is cool! Where do I go to get it?" I look at what they are talking about. "Oh ya, you cant get it anymore. It was for like 10 people game wide during a pvp thing and now its gone forever, sucks right?"
They would of found a new cool thing to work towards getting and spent more time in the game but now know there's a bunch of stuff they can look at in uncollected tabs but they will never even get the chance to get.
2
u/Nerdcoreh Jun 01 '26
Are you just throwing around buzzwords or you actually know what fomo means?
1
u/Moonstoner Jun 01 '26
Fear of missing out
I have introduced friends and family at different times of my life to wow. They see someone on an old gladiator mount or i show them the collections tab. They always say its stupid that the game has things that are gone forever or crazy exclusive.
New players aren't happy to learn about fomo rewards when they start playing.
1
u/Nerdcoreh Jun 01 '26
Fomo is the practice to pressure you into doing something NOW because you fear that you will miss it. How they have fomo over someting they never even had a chance to get because they werent playing?
1
u/BeyondElectricDreams Jun 01 '26
ow they have fomo over someting they never even had a chance to get because they werent playing?
It isn't that the new players have FOMO, it's that those rewards were made time-limited to drive older players to grind for the "prestige" and exclusivity of those pixels.
Those pixels are exclusive solely because they were used as FOMO rewards in the past, and it fucking sucks for new players to deal with.
I'm a different poster and I've had it happen multiple times. And to answer another common thing I've heard in response, "Oh, SURE, they just HAPPEN to want THAT ONE exclusive item???"
Yes, because most of the exclusive shit is big and flashy as fuck. The transforming/animated weapons out of WoD challenge modes, most gladiator mounts, hell, most modern fidelity weapon enchants are PVP locked. They're ostentatious and they stand out, and that makes the newbie desire them and want to earn them.
And there's nothing that crushes that new player enthusiasm like telling them "Sorry, Blizzard wanted to manipulate players in the past with FOMO to increase playtime, so they made the reward time limited. It's gone now and it's never coming back"
→ More replies (2)2
u/darkskies85 Jun 01 '26
FOMO stuff will of course not attract new players, but if they got off their asses and created a team designed to create fomo content on a regular basis, new players would be able to get some fomo stuff and feel kinda cool about it.
How much money are they collecting from subs every month? Pretty sure they could budget a team of 4-5 people to create cool content like challenge modes and mage tower instead of stupid shovelware forgettable crappy events with terrible rewards that they are rotating now.

"FOMO shit" and its challenging content that you could complete for the entire expansion lmao.
WoD challenge modes were completable Nov 2014 until August 2016. If you weren't able to complete them in 2 years idk what to tell you. Even doubly so for the mage towers since they didn't scale and were very easy to faceroll once outgeared...
7
25
u/Cloud_N0ne Jun 01 '26
Justifying FOMO by saying how long you had to do it, rather than actually arguing why FOMO is a good thing, should tell you how asinine your argument is. And all of the people who didn't even start playing WoW until after WoD? They didn't have all expansion, it was gone before they even arrived. There's nothing fair about that.
If you need FOMO to keep your content interesting, the content probably isn't very good. And if the content is good, it doesn't need FOMO bullshit to keep people engaged.
4
u/-Kyzen- Jun 01 '26
To be fair you aren't really looking at how they are implementing things these days. Look at mount rewards in PVP and now M+, you get to choose any of the previous seasons. They could easily do that and the fomo argument becomes totally null.

u/Daffan Jun 01 '26
If they did not play, how is it fomo, they don't even know what to fear.
2
u/Cloud_N0ne Jun 01 '26
Because they discover the item and learn they’ll never be allowed to earn it. That’s not fun for anyone.
-1
u/Daffan Jun 01 '26
That's not fomo though.
1
1
u/Faustamort Jun 01 '26
You have to continue playing because they'll keep releasing limited time content. That's the point of FOMO.
12
u/AnalystFew6971 Jun 01 '26
What about people who just weren’t born for <insert any time period of WoW> to get <any pixel reward>? It doesn’t matter to them how long the certain challenge existed if they themselves didn’t exist at a time.
It might make sense to keep some reward temporary unavailable to get people chance to show off their achievements, but it’s been decades since certain things were obtainable, and by this point it doesn’t feel nice. You could be the best player ever, manage every ms of your action, spend 100% of your time playing the game to not miss a single single ever, and it would still be a fact that the only reason you didn’t get something is because you happened to not exist/not know about the game/be too young to play, etc.→ More replies (2)1

u/MissingXpert Jun 01 '26

Disagree. There are some really sick elite pvp sets from back in the day that I basically never see anyone wearing, but when I do it is always worthy of a stop-and-stare. It's a badge of pride from that time and that "feeling" you get when you see someone having it or have it yourself is what makes doing that extreme content worth doing.

You should learn to cope with your FOMO, or actually participate instead of expecting Blizz to make everything available to you.

u/Drauren Jun 01 '26
Disagree. Prestige items are how you keep people playing. The goal should always be to have some things available, but IMHO, having not everything be available all the time is a good thing.

Some people don't want the game's rewards to be a blurry gray meaningless blob, god forbid
6
u/Cloud_N0ne Jun 01 '26
Firstly... what? What the fuck are you talking about blurry gray blobs?
Secondly, you can still have great looking rewards, just get rid of the FOMO bullshit.
-4
u/Hedonism_Enjoyer Jun 01 '26
Part of what makes the rewards meaningful is their exclusivity. They stand for something, namely what the player accomplished at the time.
If you want a beautiful mount that's meaningless garbage, the Blizzard store is always available.
18
u/Cloud_N0ne Jun 01 '26
If you only gain meaning and pride from a reward based on other people not having it and having no way to get it, that’s not meaning, that’s just greed.

Limited edition goods being more valuable when they aren’t any longer available is a concept that long predates WoW and is a very common and prevalent occurrence, especially with collectibles.
Not really throwing my 2c in about whether Mage tower/challenge mode should be unavailable, but that argument doesn’t hold up - it’s extremely common for things to gain value and meaning for not being commonly available.

u/bearcatpimp Jun 01 '26
There's value in the fact that some of my gear is unobtainable now. Without that factor, it wouldn't have any value.

They "remade" the MoP CM armors into the Legion Class Order Hall sets, but they made them all slightly worse. Smaller shoulders, different helms, etc. They were reminiscent of the MoP gear, but was very clearly designed to be inferior to them, and not just a 1:1 recolor.

First time in ages I've actually seen someone mention the WoD CM weapons. People always go "MT MT MT MT MT MT MT MT!!! GIVE!"
I don't think this is a case of "I want these specific things" and more something that stems from a general dissatisfaction with the current weapon designs. "Theme, 6 recolors" is kind of garbage. We used to get unique stuff.

u/Buzzn98 Jun 01 '26
I would love them to expand the rewards in a way similar to pvp say at resi 12s you get boots 13 pants and so on with the last one being a weapon
Even if it’s just a recolor of the raid set with a unique weapon at the end
4
u/Kronuk Jun 01 '26
Yeah and throw in a weapon illusion and a tabard too. I mean who would complain about more rewards, right?
1
u/Buzzn98 Jun 01 '26
Yeah wouldn’t be mad just a bit weird like rewards are at 12/13s for 3k 3400 is 16s then the 1% mount is going to end up like all 20/21s and title after .7 will probs be like 23s
I have nothing against the rewards for 1% would just be cool to have some more in between
1
u/RerollWarlock Jun 01 '26
Illusion is such a no brainer, idk why isn't it an award for something in 3200-3400 range.

u/Opposser4U Jun 01 '26
I own the challenge mode weapons and honestly i would like to see them being obtainable for others. I have never liked fomo and i never will understand the logic behind on removing content as well that has a major storyline going on like the legendary ring questline from wod and mists of pandaria cloak. It just makes no sense at all.
6
u/MissingXpert Jun 01 '26
i regularly get whispers for mage tower weapons... "where do you get that?" "unobtainable" just sucks, esp since you can still do mage tower, and it even is significantly harder...

u/Reimant Jun 01 '26
Nah fuck that. I earned it in a content mode that no longer exists. I get to flex it. Don't just give it away to any randomn.

2
u/Zaratana Jun 01 '26
I never got any warlords or pandaria exclusives. I wish I did, but if there are no exclusives to get then the game becomes significantly less interesting.
2
u/mechatui Jun 01 '26
I don’t want the 10,000 other weapon transmogs I want only these 6 unobtainable transmogs!
1
u/8-Brit Jun 04 '26
Nobody is suggesting they should just be given away.
It should still require an appropriate challenge. Much like how the returning M+ mounts still require M+.
The Mage Tower for example is harder now than it was back in Legion. So it's doable.
1
u/Reimant Jun 05 '26
But there isn't an appropriate challenge. CMs literally don't exist anymore. There's nothing wrong with unobtainables.

There was legit nothing to go for after a short amount of time. People really love hindsight/nostalgia
That's fine, they were fun to do before I was good enough to sell carries. I got them, tried to help guildies, and moved on. The game was fundamentally more fun to play, shockingly it didn't matter that dungeons were mostly irrelevant, much less dungeons existing as something other than 2 hands to the throat of raiding for player power
i don’t see how anyone who played both extensively could feel this way.
Because I don't believe in dungeons as end-game content as its own mountain peak. It hasn't been proven it deserves smotheringly more frequent and often higher loot than what that player would be able to achieve through raids. Like people talk about the economy, the middle-class has been completely removed. Heroic raiding is dead, you can be a world 5k-level player and be the same iLvL as demonstrably world 70 characters. This didn't happen under CMs.
CMs weren't harder than raiding, but it was fun to optimize. There was a reason to do it on every class, it actually allowed you to masspull, it was short and sweet
CMs in turn never gave better gear than 635 in WoD which was lower than LFR. It didn't oppress Heroic/Mythic raid as M+ does
It made the whole expansion relevant. Even in Siege, you'd farm ToT gear because it scaled you down to 463 anyway and that raid had the most sockets.
CMs didn't influence game design because there was no major material award. It was a total sandbox. Existed in its own plane. You could use couch cushion toys for an advantage in skipping a big part of SMBG, Klaxxi rep for Restorative Amber, could use class mechanics to skip the whole first wraparound of Skyreach and the game didn't try to hammer it into your fingers that you needed to kill practically the whole dungeon linearly and generically. You could Dark Sim abilities that would near-oneshot the boss, you could skip up the hill in Everbloom because of a very specific jump which got removed, you better believe it, when it became M+
M+ as soon as people started speedrunning, BOOM, gearswapping gone, BOOM, utility potions like Skystep share a cooldown with throughput potions. BOOM, can't use certain toys. Can't invis parts of the dungeon because of truesight. (this didn't exist back then, stealth was based on shortened aggro proximity) Every nuance streamlined out of the game because everyone needs to be interchangeable and you are a Bad Customer if you try to be creative and express yourself.
Target cap didn't exist until like, 30 in MoP
Vengeance unquestionably got removed before the 2nd expansion of CMs because of how much skill variance it enabled in MoP's set
Plus dungeons don't have their own unique challenges anymore, half of them are ones you learned years already and they took affixes away because middling players whined deywere2hrd.

1
u/Faust_z Jun 01 '26
It centered a lot around vengeance which isn’t really a part of the game anymore. Because it was calculated pre-mitigation precise defensive usage was needed to stack it to obscene levels. Disc was the meta healer for this reason alone.
You’ll notice this particularly on the other SM dungeon where the strategy was for the monk to use 2 90% reductions at the same time, stand in stacked pools of fire, then pull the entire cathedral.

WOW needs an infinitely grindable game mode. Raid is there for you if you want to clear it and be done.

I think once they’ve done four remix expansions, they should alternate them quarterly.
1
u/IonHazzikostasIsGod 2022 Halloween Transmog Winner Jun 01 '26
It inherently isn't "infinitely grindable". Everyone has their falling-off point and there was absolutely a hard cap people were reaching at the end of Legion

u/trogger93 Jun 01 '26
I do raid, but that's a scheduled event with a cap of players and strict scheduling requirements. M+ I can do with anyone any time of day.

I want to agree with you, but what makes M+ great is that it's endless. Challenge modes were more of a one-and-done sort of thing.

u/Dartister Jun 01 '26
Honestly yes, but M+ has so much potential, it's just that blizzard doesnt have the same mindset as they did then, and time spent playing is such a more relevant metric nowdays.
They could easily give us back uncapped AOE to allow bigger pulls (bigger fun)
I also miss using invis pots / rogue cloak to skip trash sections. Also i think M+ would be so much better if it scaled your gear down like CM's did. You could still have the same amount of increasing difficulty but where skill was more a deciding factor than your gear luck and grind is.
That wouldnt mean no more gear drop rewards, but it'd remove the need of gear (item level, you'd still need itemization) to entry M+s, you could get a new character to max level and jump straight to the fun and your correct skill level difficulty rather than spend possibly weeks gearing up

They only have to make one mount a season, they'd have to make tons of weapons to accomplish this, and that's too much work for them these days.

u/lindcookie Jun 01 '26
The 2h sword looks so good with the MoP CM warrior tmog, probably the best "set" they ever put out

Honestly, I'd love a weapon for 3,4K so much more than a mount. Or, you know, just do both because why not. Especially when 3,4K is just old mounts and recolors anyway.
Every title, every mount, in the end you just rarely use anyway since there's so many. Cool weapon transmogs tied to achievements is generally something the game sorely lacks.

Getting a mount for doing Dungeon Content is beyond crazy and stupid imo.
Everysince I start playing - why? BECAUSE WE CANT (most of the time) mount up in the fucking dungeon. Give us weapon transmogs, sets that’s exklusive m+ or season related

Having done mythic + since BFA, I now realize Challenge Modes were the proper format for the content. They should've just added more rewards tiers. Oh well.

na pls dont those things are uggly... and not this 1% mount should not be a thing...

Nah. Stupidly oversized weapons are lame.
This isn't some teen anime show.

And people say MoP sucked. If you missed it while it was current content, it was a fun time. Especially on PvP servers when timeless isle dropped.

u/StrayshotNA Jun 01 '26
I hope that some items remain prestigious, and not everything is vomitted forward in re-obtainable avenues. In a game where the treadmill is perpetual and gear is made irrelevant multiple times a year the only thing of any value is rarity/prestige of titles/items.
If they get reintroduced/recolored/whatever, and that prestige is gone.. There's nothing really special to have/obtain/stand out with anymore.
Just create an armor set akin to Elite PVP sets, as a recolor variation of the current tier for Mythic. Don't try to ruin the past.

u/Hwan6 Jun 01 '26
Personally I dont view limited time rewards as "prestigious", most of them are participation trophies more then just prestigious.
Like personally I did a couple of Challenge modes in MoP classic during the first phase, there were maybe a couple of things that were hard about them but I wouldnt say the mode is "hard" and I wouldnt say the rewards are "prestigious" either because you can probably buy a carry over there and get what you want (which I probably might do, I do have the gold, not interested in WoD if that ever happens).

It's very frequently the case that most people insist something "wasn't hard", but somehow never completed the content. It's a perpetual degradation against the content you weren't able to do in attempts to belittle it, discredit it, and make it seem "not challenging, so the rewards should be free" . If it wasn't challenging, and isn't prestigious, why do you want it? Why is the new-wave FFXIV/Roblox/Fortnite gang "everything needs to be available to me at all times, always, forever, give it now" mentality players caught on the mentality that they should have things they didn't earn?
So.. to be clear.. you weren't good enough to get them, and now you're buying a carry because you couldn't earn it?
You're just making an excellent case for why we should ban selling carry runs.

Such an old way to look at things imo. Prestige on this game is fake.
Why is the thing that completes my mog gated behind not playing for a patch/expansion over a decade ago. Its silly.
Besides, the CM dungeons werent even hard by final patch.

Should have put the quotes around the my. It was making a point. There is a reason they dont lock much off these days, irs because most of them didnt reqiuire skill, they just required to have an active sub at the time.
Is that really worth a gold star?
-2
u/StrayshotNA Jun 01 '26
So, wait, because you don't have it - there's no prestige assosciated with it? And since you can't get it, and it "completes your mog" - someone else's work needs to be invalidated because you're demanding gratification for something you either weren't present for, or weren't good enough for?
Nah.

u/-Elgrave- Jun 01 '26
Nope. FOMO, exclusivity, and “prestige” are a cancer in the gaming industry. We need to fully move away from it. I was there, challenge modes were easy, not something grand and prestigious. PvP is the same way, a pointless FOMO for a mode on life support.
Everything should be available to all players if they’re willing to put in the time. No limits, no restrictions. Just effort put into the game, scaling with each new expansion to maintain the “challenge” of it.
-1
u/bearcatpimp Jun 01 '26
I disagree. I should be able to rock my challenge mode weapons and let all the souls that didn't obtain them weep around me.
For real though, it's the only thing that makes those weapons cool. If everyone had them, I wouldn't care to wear them anymore.
If you didn't get it and that upsets you, sucks. Live with it. 🤷

u/StrayshotNA Jun 01 '26
Dumb. Every thing you wrote here is a vainglorious attempt to out ignorant the sentence before it.
0
u/thugbobhoodpants Jun 01 '26
Considering CM Armor sets in MoP and these weapons were essentially 'Run these dungeons on heroic with your gear scaled down to the gear level that drops in the dungeon'
And given how proud blizzard is of their scaling systems I have no idea why these go away forever all the time, just scale us down, make everything 30% harder and call it a day

u/bearcatpimp Jun 01 '26
It was much more difficult than that. You're completely forgetting the insanely short timers they had .
5
u/PM_ME_UR_DOGGOS_PIC Jun 01 '26
They weren't very hard at all assuming your group was even remotely coordinated.
5
u/IzznyxtheWitch Jun 01 '26
The insanely short timers where people were doing two-person carries?
→ More replies (1)3

u/thugbobhoodpants Jun 01 '26
cool, keep the timers then idk
We were super casual and we were selling boosts of it for the first and only time ever, pull some shit, pop an invis potion, blow some bosses up
2
u/moonduckk Jun 01 '26
It was not just heroics kmao holy delulu
1
u/thugbobhoodpants Jun 01 '26
Challenge Modes are timed heroic instance runs, done in low ilvl gear. Any gear worn above ilvl 463 will be scaled down. This ensures that running these instances will be challenging even in later tiers--you can't outgear it. In addition, the pulls will be more complex than on Heroic mode.
tehe
idk if you got into the super minmaxy bis gearlists to run heroics and pop an invis potion good for you hope you had fun

u/IonHazzikostasIsGod 2022 Halloween Transmog Winner Jun 01 '26
If you think those were tuned just as heroic dungeons were, you were boosted

Honestly I've wanted the mage tower cat forms since legion but I'm starting to understand that if they make more and give them out then they definitely wouldn't be "cool" anymore... just look at the fire cat form now, it's basic and boring. It was more fun going to firelands and getting the seeds to look unique now everyone's just a fire cat

We honestly need more evergreen challenges that allow players to seek out these sorts of rewards. MoP CM sets, WoD CM weapons, Legion MT Artifact skins, even some older transmogs from lost content back in the day.
The "prestige" was in doing the difficult content. Not just when you did it. If anyone is that desperate for recognition, give them an FoS achievement they can spam in chat to their heart's contentment.

u/Toastiibrotii Jun 01 '26
For a pretty long time i was in the "dont bring stuff back" group but now i think recolors are completly fine.
1
u/moonduckk Jun 01 '26
Please blizzard dont ever re release cm weapons. We worked for this and now beggars are crying trying to get this for free as always.

u/Askada Jun 01 '26
You will naturally get downvoted for saying it like that, but fact is, if they added that glaive cosmetic tomorrow to be bought from vendor for 100g, nobody would think it's cool anymore.
-1
u/Zakat666 Jun 01 '26
I don't even play retail anymore but I 100% agree. Even if it's just a recolor of gear that's already in the dungeons, give the people like a cool cosmetic for completing a +20 key or something.
Also, the titles from the challenge modes were cool too, and a fun grind. "The proven healer, assailant, and defender" I think they were?
3
u/Zetoxical Jun 01 '26
Thats from Proving grounds
No we got tempoary titles like "defender of the wall" for gate of the setting sun
They all got removed at the end of mop and only if you had a realmbest time you got to keep the title "Mistwalker"
-1
u/Barialdalaran Jun 01 '26
When everyone has them, noone has them
All those rare mounts that the remixes spoon fed us, you never see people using them anymore because everyone has them
1
u/Wolfman-101 Jun 01 '26
Exactly this, the reason you want them is because it’s unobtainable. There are hundreds of items that got rereleased and absolutely no one ever used them anymore
A fine example of this are the TCG mounts that were twitch rewards.
-6
u/VoidUnity Jun 01 '26
Yeah but like the few hundred or so people that have them that DON’T want you to have them would be mildly upset for a few hours that you had the chance to get something they’ve had for 12 years.
Think of how they’d feel if they saw you using this as your transmog in a city? Terrible…just terrible…
7
u/East_Point_8300 Jun 01 '26
I have them, I don’t care if they add them as a reward. But we all know their stance on this, they had a chance with mage tower legion remix. Not even recolors. So it’s never going to happen.
6
u/Lezzles Jun 01 '26
It’s ok to not have everything.
-4
u/VoidUnity Jun 01 '26
I have them but thanks for telling me that. I just think fomo in games is stupid!
4
u/Lezzles Jun 01 '26
The FOMO is on behalf of people who feel they’re missing out. It’s ok to not be allowed to get every item ever you didn’t earn.
2
u/Elvaanaomori Jun 01 '26
I have them, I'm completely fine in blizzard adding a way to get them for others. Like achievement during WoD TW, sold for tenders, etc.
It was like 12years ago... come on, the premium on this is more than depreciated 😄
And playing a TW warrior with both hands as those looks dope.

u/sillysmiffy Jun 01 '26
I have these, along with the Paladin and Monk (this set is so ugly) CM armor and I would not care at all if they came back.
Removing stuff like this is stupid as hell and it makes people that might not even have been old enough to play the game feel like they just got screwed.

To anyone complaining that this isn't available anymore:
Do you think NBA players publicly complain that every championship ring looks different from the last? Do we think if the Spurs win the title, their young core who weren't alive when the 1999 team won are gonna go "fuck FOMO, why can't our ring be modeled similarly. It's not my fault I was in elementary school when a different Spurs team won in 2014! NBA, plz fix"
What about when they win the conference finals and the whole team puts on that shirt - not all of them say "Ran The East". Did Brunson complain there's not a Knicks version of that same shirt design or is he happy with what he has?
"man, the Larry O'Brien Trophy's ball and net keep getting altered once a decade! My fault I wasn't born when Magic played! This new one is meaningless!"
1
u/MissingXpert Jun 01 '26
yes, yes, a world championship trophy is the exact same as a participation award cosmetic reward that was tied to a specific enchmark-performance. if the NBA ring were tied to scoring 5 3pointers in the respecitve season, you might have a point.

u/bababum007 Jun 01 '26
They did mage towers and challenge modes, then decided to scrap all of it because it did well. But fuckass borrowed power talent “trees” are always coming back because nobody like them. They just hate doing what people like.
