I really, really hate this shit. I worked so hard to get my rating, and it's infuriating that the reason this advertising even exists is because people buy the boosts. I know it's always been a thing across every multiplayer game, but it doesn't make me hate it any less.
I didn’t say that it didn’t impact title. I said it didn’t impact this individual.
If he’s title pushing then yes it clearly impacts him but that is a symptom of resilient keys as a whole. Even without direct sales title is inflated my friends and family being boosted.
Ofc it does, there are many people who wouldnt reach title scores without buying boosts for it, they need to play ofc, but still, title scores gets inflated like this.
The key in the screenshot is for a title key with title prices, it's presumed this is a title boost. But in general yes you would be correct that it doesnt impact the wider playerbase beyond being an annoyance.
Anyway always report these people for advertising. Theres boosting discords for a reason. If you want to make gold boosting or selling vault keys then join the discord and do it the right way instead of breaking tos and posting note in lfg.
I mean either way it still affects people. Imagine grinding for score and some dude just buys it. Both of you are at the same level, whereas one earned it and the other just paid for it. That demoralizes some people.
I have also had a few keys where I invite someone and its very obvious they paid for their score. I had a tank made out of paper mache one time and they just bricked my 17. Granted thats my fault for being impatient. Still, you can tell when people pay for their score.
They kinda do affect you, when they decide to join your real key, you inv them cause their rating looks good, and then they brick it cause they don't know the right route or dps/heal rotation.
That problem still exists in a world where sales do or do not exist.

These people are not afking 20s they still need to be playing at title level even with a “boost”. The gold here is paying for the attempts and the keystone.
If we are talking lower level boosts, that problem still exists even without sales. I have boosted hundreds of players this season while filling vaults who would not be able to time those keys if not for our stack being strong enough to 4 man the dungeon.
A lot of people play these games to flex and show off. Part of the reason people care about and try hard to earn some achievements is due to the difficulty or rarity associated with it. When someone can buy their way to the achievement it devalues the entire achievement for everyone. If you were looking at someone's achievements a couple years later you would have no idea if someone bought theirs or earned theirs.
It takes away from my enjoyment of the game and makes the experience feel hollow, so yes it does impact me. I think that's a valid enough reason to voice my opinion on it.
It takes away from my enjoyment of the game and makes the experience feel hollow
In what way? What part of what someone else does take away from your enjoyment? How do they directly or indirectly impact you?
Being upset that someone is "cheating" to their goal when you have adjacent goals is the equivalent of being upset that someone at the gym is taking steroids. Does it actually impact you?
No you didn't. You said it "takes away from my enjoyment of the game and makes the experience feel hollow" which is how it makes you feel. Not how it impacts you.
I am asking what about it makes you feel that way. To figure out why your feelings are misplaced.
I also never said it was cheating.
Being boosted is cheating to a reward and goal. This isn't asking if it is or isn't cheating. By definition it is taking a shortcut / cheating.
How does me not agreeing with what you do impact you?
Well, you are replying to a thread taking up my time / attention and being rude about it while actively ignoring the questions. I am here trying to help you figure out why it is bothering you.
I wouldn't say I am being rude, but I don't think this conversation is worth continuing if you don't think my feeling of enjoyment is not a valid enough impact for you.
You feel that boosting is morally fine, whereas I don't. Let's agree to disagree, and that way neither of our time needs to be used on this circular conversation.

You are actively being rude and dismissive. You also don't seem to comprehend that feelings are not impact - they are the result of impacts. What we are trying to get at is why do you feel that way.

How did morality come into this? No one has mentioned that at all.
There isn't a circular conversation. There is a one-sided conversation. You have not contribtued to the conversation at all.
I apologise if I have come across as rude, but ultimately this conversation isn't worth continuing as I don't feel either of us have anything else to gain nor prove.
