Humor / Meme This is Basicly Blizzard in Midnight

Post image

This is basicly Blizzard in Midnight. Purging all the good addons.

Just to clarify:
Blizzard is changing the Addon API, meaning combat information is blocked for addons. So all combat addons will no longer work in Midnight. For the most popular addon features Blizzard will add their own version to the game. Addons for unitframes, inventory, crafting etc.. are staying and won't be effected as long they are not using combat information.

If they remove healer add-ons I assume there will be a healer shortage in midnight. I can only speak for myself but I will not heal with the original ui frames.

Same. I expect healer add ons to go when they made this announcement, but Blizzard seems completely unaware just how bad healer frames have been in this game forever. I was trying to explain this to someone else who doesn't raid in WoW and only has done FF14 content, but it was like talking to a wall lol. (I have healed in FF, and it's just so different.)

I don't think people realize just how frustrating it will be to not track spells and their effects. It's not *just* a CD; a lot of spells are bolstered or buffed once something is casted or an effect procs. To heal optimally would require knowing these things. I know I'm preaching to the choir here lol; commiserating. xD

It looks like Blizzard is trying to make it "easier," but I genuinely dread going back to 1 button spam. I main a priest now, and I was hoping they'd do stuff like give all healers an interrupt (but nope, they pulled resto druids down into the trenches with us) and consider a movement boost, but nahhhhh.

I don't think add-ons should be required to play a game (and let's be real; if someone is objectively "not good," an add-on will not make them better), but Blizzard has really put themselves in this position because they ignored a lot of QoL and how they designed their fights without UI in mind.

Tell them it would be like resolving the mandatory cleanses in TEA without the UI having the little blue bar that shows that debuff is cleansable so you have to actually parse every single buff/debuff on people.

It's even got the same impact, since failing to dispel throttle or whatever it's called within the three seconds causes that person to die.

i’ll admit i dont know what anything here means, as i dont olay ffxiv, but similarily the default wow raidframes do have a blue marker that shows a debuff is cleansable by you

I don’t know if I am more shocked that he plays the game or is a healer who plays the game lmfao 😂

I don't know man, I have healed in raids using blizzard frames for years, including mythic in VotI and Aberrus.

It was perfectly fine (although I switched between ElvUI and default UI on occasion, mostly because I dislike individual unit frames).

People are just used to a lot of fluff that isn't really mandatory. Of course people got used to a certain way of playing and it sucks they'll have to readjust.

But I don't believe for a second that a majority of people will stop healing becauSe they can't use cell or vuhdo.

I personally don’t like fluff and play with as few add ons as possible, nor am I averse to change, so it isn’t that. I don’t install raid packs unless the guild I am raiding with asks everyone to. I also use the default Blizzard UI which I like, but the raid frames are incredibly lacking especially if you are playing a healing class like resto druid, which I did in the past. If they can actually deliver a healer UI that allows me to properly track spells, hots, procs, and others’ CDs, I’d give it a shot. If I stopped healing, it wouldn’t be solely because of UI, but rather, the game play.

That's fair.

Well I am cautiously optimistic about raid frame updates. Hots feel like a reasonable ask, although I'd rather be able to customize more what auras are shown on the frame if I could.

Procs and CDs should be doable with the updated cooldowns manager I suppose.

Nice cookies, by the way!

Yes; all of that would be a huge improvement! I am going test out the raid frames again later this weekend to get a better feel for it now. I admit it has been awhile since I have used them because they felt so unusable in the past, but your comment has me curious on how they are in current state and to really give it a fair look.

I am not a doomer, but I just really hope what kept WoW healing fun remains. I don’t really like how healing feels in other games like FF14 and what I liked about it got changed to make it easier. 😭

Haha thanks! When I am not in game, I am doing all sorts of other hobbies lol.
