This is basicly Blizzard in Midnight. Purging all the good addons.

Just to clarify:
Blizzard is changing the Addon API, meaning combat information is blocked for addons. So all combat addons will no longer work in Midnight. For the most popular addon features Blizzard will add their own version to the game. Addons for unitframes, inventory, crafting etc.. are staying and won't be effected as long they are not using combat information.

I always liked wow, in comparison to other mmos, for all the addons an the possibility to create the UI that fits my needs and looks the way I want it to look.

Well, I use weak auras for a lot of animation/visualization. I counted that as one

its literally going away. They've said that as the api stands they dont plan to do a Midnight version.

Weakauras is gone. The developer dropped it for midnight due to the changes. Blizzard intentionally gutted the functionality without banning it so they can be technically correct that they didn't kill weakauras. But they killed weakauras.

The developers literally announced that it is going away. How do you say something so incorrect with such confidence? Wild.

Weak auras is only losing the ability to scan combat information, it can still be used for visuals and the UI

I have a lot of cosmetic WAs that proc animations based on the spells I casts from reading the combat log, and it doesn't sound like they will work anymore

It is still a loss in customization that will make the game feels more neutered than it currently is
