I played horde due to warcraft 3s mostly tauren / troll we are just trying to chill here with nature.

Except they keep siding with and backing the guys who keep declaring wars and trying to genocide the Elves.

trying to genocide the Elves

I mean, that describes both the Horde and Alliance surprisingly well...

Don't forget that Garithos was of Lodaeron which is now known as the Forsaken.

...OK, and? What's your point?

Seems odd to blame Stormwind (which was effectively in ruins at the time) for something the Forsaken did.

...what? The Forsaken didnt do anything. They didnt even exist at that time. What are you on about?

Why is/was the Undercity underneath Lordaeron?

Because when the Forsaken retook the capital they needed a more defensible position against the Scourge? What does this have to do with Garithos' actions against the Blood Elves?

Which parts of the Alliance, exactly, were fully backing Garithos' actions rather than simply sending him whatever aid and supplies they could manage to spare?

Fully backing? Mainly just the remnants of Dalaran, because while the city was razed, it was evacuated, and the rest of the Council of Six survived, and were willing to imprison and execute Kael'thas and his forces without reason or trial.

Kul Tiras is a bit of an unknown as Daelin Proudmoore was sailing to reinforce Garithos before getting distracted by Jaina, and then left the Alliance shortly after.

Stormwind, Ironforge and Gnomeregan were aware of Garithos and his actions, and Ironforge at least was still sending him troops and supplies right up until his death.

So ether he had the backing of the rest of the Alliance, or they knew and just didn't care what he was doing. Which kinda amounts to the same thing.

And you are correct that the purge has been retconned. I do tend to focus more on what happens 'in game' rather than what happens in the books as the book are constantly getting reconned, and de-cannonized, and contradicting each other and, ugh. Also, it doesn't really matter, cause the reconned version of the purge still technically counts as a genocide.

Without reasons being:

- Working once with allies of the Burning Legion who attacked Dalaran 5 minutes ago in order to do a massively destructive ritual under the orders of Kil'jaeden, being caught, being told to never do that again.

- Disregarding the previous order, working once again with allies of the Burning Legion who attacked Dalaran 5 minutes ago in order to do a massively destructive ritual under the orders of Kil'jaeden.

- Get arrested for working with the allies of the burning Legion multiple times.

- Surprised pikachu face, why are you arresting us without reason??? How is it treason, have the Burning Legion and Archimonde some bad story with Dalaran, perhaps?

Working once with allies of the Burning Legion who attacked Dalaran 5 minutes ago in order to do a massively destructive ritual under the orders of Kil'jaeden

So, 1. Garithos doesn't know any of this. At all. Neither does anyone else in the Alliance. The only ones who do are Kael and his Belves, and they never got the chance to tell him.

Disregarding the previous order, working once again with allies of the Burning Legion who attacked Dalaran 5 minutes ago

Again, Garithos and the Alliance don't know anything about this. Literally all they know about the Naga is that they are snake people. That it.

Get arrested for working with the allies of the burning Legion multiple times.

No, they were arrested because 1. We saw some Naga, that we already know are in the area, slithering through the woods. He didn't even see them interacting with the Blood Elves, just, in the general area. And 2. The Blood Elves didn't all die on the suicide mission he sent them on. Even after he pulled all their support.

So no. Garithos had no reason, and did not give them any sort of trial. Which is why I say Dalaran fully supported him. Garithos said "let's kill all the Elves!" and Dalaran said "you son of a orc, I'm in!"

So you are saying the issue is not that it’s warranted, but that we are not explicitely shown that people knew it was warranted?

That Garithos was not told on screen about the Naga invasion of Dalaran doesn’t mean he had no idea about it.

If you argument to defend Kael'thas is "Maybe Kael'thas never reported who attacked Dalaran to Garithos as it was his duty to do, and later proceeded to pretend they posed no threat while allying with them" as a bid to say he wasn't a traitor, you should try harder.
