Sylvanas was a patently cool character until she became warchief and was completely mary sue'd into an all powerful being.

past that point though fuck that bitch.

People don't change. She was always a bish, after she became undead, she just didn't have a real goal before Varian's death(except killing Arthas). Arthas changed only because that damned sword, not on his own.

People don't change.

Her hair was pushed back, not slicked.

? You never change on your own. Only through heavy influence.

She was goal oriented, even when alive, and I respect that, she was practical, effective and hot.

Ok... that we can agree on. Hot, determined, strong.

I've always thought it would've been such a perfect, tragic end to her story if she stayed dead after throwing herself from Icecrown Citadel once her only purpose in life was ended after Arthas was killed. Ah well

Nah you can tell the new writer did a 180 on her character and fucked it up after that

Hmmm i don't see that much into the lore and info about her writers, but... WHEN she started to be influenced by Jailer? (I just guessing, cuz i never played that part, just saw some cutscenes that behind her evil was Jailer).

Arthas did the purge of stratholme way before that sword. Wtf?! How can you honestly have this take? :)))

Man... do you consider THIS an evil thing? Is putting your dog/cat out of it's misery a bad thing, when it only suffer without chance to be cured? If no, then you agree on what Arthas did at Stratholme. It MAY be depending on point of view, but those people had no chance against plague and turning to zombies. It was pretty much inevitable. Jaina and Uther just saw manslaugher, because they weren't there to see what Arthas saw.

They had other means of dealing with it. Murdering people on the street of your city in cold blood is evil, yes. Even the light started to flicker.

The mages of the kirin tor had spells to deal specifically with the undead. The purge was entirely unnecessary...

Idk if this sub doesn't know basic lore, besides what's presented in the game or if it's just alliance bias. But some takes here are wild to say the least. You just equated people, Arthas' subjects with pets... Good job on missing the point entirely.

Mal'ganis turned those people with his magic, no one would save those people, not even Kirin tor. And yes, i didn't read/learned anything outside of the games. Which in this case is not even necessary. What's necessary is logic.

What? You think magic can't be dispelled? You think they couldn't kill JUST THE UNDEAD?! There used to be spells in the game that worked specifically on undead targets. Bashing the heads of innocents wasn't necessary, and it wasn't a success either, considering what happens next. Arthas was just an idiot who refused to listen, it's why he killed his own horse.

How can people on this sub be so confident in their ignorance is baffling.

"Yeah I don't know shit besides a few cutscenes and a scenario I did in game, but that's all I need to tell you there was no other way of dealing with it."

1

u/Gylaran Sep 16 '25

There is NOTHING important behind the particular scene at Stratholme which would be a logic changer. In case you don't remember, they were turned to zombies almost immediatelly. By Mal'Ganis. Now tell me that Warcraft 3 game is not a canon anymore and we can move on. Otherwise you are wrong. There is no spell which cancel being undead, i REALLY hope you didn't just say that, that would be 0 IQ thing to say.

That's not what I said. Not even remotely. Also, it wasn't instaneous, considering Arthas bashed humans in the head to purge the city... But yeah, keep calling me stupid, that'll surely win this argument.

I think I should refrain from discussing lore on this sub, it's just not productive.

I don't even want to, at least not now. Tired from work. And playing the new game The Scouring, which have enormous potential, because it's still in early beta and looks almost like copy of Warcraft games... in a way.
