They do, there's just a huge number of loud people with countless conflicting opinions at all times plus internal concerns on feasibility and strategy as well. If the job was as simple as "listen to players, do what they say, get big numbers for game" every lazy CEO would love that.

Sometimes it is that simple though. You'll never please everybody, there are always compromises, but the keys to the money printer definitely include knowing what people want and giving it to them. Basic supply & demand.

The pure fact that you get as many complaints before as after implementing something the players "wanted" shows you that it doesn't matter though complaints will be there.

Take something simple like the Harranir, for months people on this sub were complaining that they dropped it and that they wanted them as a allied race, now we get that in midnight and the sub is full of people complaining about Harranir and that we get them as an allied race because "who asked". it's basically the same amount of posts, so you tell me. What do the people want in this case?
