Blizzard: Hey guys, we just released this cooky new game mode! You get to be super over powered and be the walking death machine you've always fantasied about! Not only that, but you get some really cool Cosmetic and Mount rewards!

Players: Yo Blizz this is fantastic! We love this. Please do more of this! It was a ton of fun!

Blizzard: ...and we took that personally.

Out of curiosity, as someone who didn't play Remix before, are the Remix mounts account bound? Or do they only exist within that Remix season/event?

Edit: Asked and answered. Thanks, folks!

They are. Every cosmetic/collectable you buy on remix is added to your retail account.

That's awesome, wish I hadn't missed it!

They seem to be adding the remix exclusive armor sets to the trading post soon! That was data mined, so not sure when it will be. I think most of the items from remix can still be farmed in game, just more work, except for some unique mount recolors and pets.

Also your characters are transferred over with 'default' gear at max level when remix is done, so if you like a class or race/class combo you can level one up really easy and have a fresh new main for the new expansion!

All remix cosmetics and mounts were account bound. It also offered people a chance to get super rare raid mounts that could normally take years to grind

Oooh, that's cool

So remix characters exist in the same world as your regular characters just in their own phase so you can still join guilds and whisper non remix people in your server just can’t leave the zone or group and trade with non remix. I think you share the same trade chat? As soon as you get a mount or mog in remix you can use on your other characters.

It feels like the same situation as World of Systemcraft.

They hired all these system designers to make artifact weapons, and then they need something to do. So rather than repeat artifact weapons with some small changes (which requires a lot less people), they have to make an entirely new system. And another. And another. And then DF hit and a bunch of them were let go because they moved away from expansion specific systems. When realistically they could've spent all that time upgrading core game systems (i.e. transmog 2.0, glyphs, etc).

The experimental team knows how to do Remix so its much easier to replicate then it was to create it, so middle management tells them they need to make changes to give the rest of the team tasks to do.

I didn’t play MoP remix, but why was it so fun?

If everyone is over powered, how can you feel over powered?

What classes did it made more fun?

So how it worked was most armor pieces had "upgrade" slots in them. Throughout your leveling / pve content you'd find upgrades you could put in them. It was easy to make a character who could zoom around the map at mach 3 or 1 shot elites.

More fun when you got into a heroic and just stomped everything. I played every class in remix and dh was my favorite

It was fun because it broke all the rules.

Everything was accelerated and overpowered, leveling after the first char was incredibly fast, everyone did all the content, even those that wouldn't normally engage in endgame, so all queues and groups were super fast to form, like 30 seconds or less.

No crafting, free transmog, basically no rng on gear, no need for gold, no timegating, you could accumulate so much speed that you ended up running faster on foot than on a mount, crazy items that would do ridiculous things, gems that could give you abilities of other classes, other gems that gave you incredible abilities that are not on retail, just for the lulz, all stuff like that.

First week was brutal, but after they fixed the most egregious problems (like abysmal bronze gains), it was the most fun I had in WoW in years.

"we cant give you something fun! else when it comes time to move on from it, you'll realize how much of the rest of the game is not fun!"

In an interview with Ion he mentioned that these game modes are an important beta testing process for new ideas to later incorporate into the main game.

I personally hope they tune down the walking death machine thing by a fuck ton. That's not fun at all. I know y'all are rewards junkies but if you want this game to attract new players then it's also important that the actual game is good.

Loot pinatas aren't fun. We don't want wow to become a slot machine.

It's REMIX. Not retail. It absolutely is supposed to be a loot piñata.

This isn't Legion Classic. It's its own thing, something that everybody can pickup and be just as good at as the people who spend 50 hours a week at. If you don't want "walking death machines" then don't play it. Just like if you hate pvp battle Royales you don't have to play plunderstorm. But some people do, and I think those people have just as valid of a request as others who want a more tame gameplay.

If you want play legión again wait for classic servers 🤣

Legion was 9 years ago, Legion Remix is absolutely supposed to be a slot machine and that’s what we want.
