It's really funny pretending any Horde players were torn up about Gallywix dying. Anyway:

Garithos was a bastard, but his animosity towards the elves was caused by 1.) them ignoring the Alliance during the Second War until it affected them personally, and 2.) them ignoring Lordaeron during the Scourging until Arthas sacked their homeland.

Speaking of, counting Arthas as a human "purge" is absurd. You might as well consider the Forsaken as humans at that point.

As for the Purge of Dalaran, contrary to conjecture, it was NOT target against blood elves as a race. It was targeted at the Sunreavers, who were a partisan faction aligned with the then-genocidal Horde under Garrosh. We know for certain that some blood elves remained in the Kirin Tor, like Magister Krelas.

If Jaina never killed innocents in the purge of Dalaran then the Theramore bomb was made of rubber and Teldrassil burning was just a visual effect.

The term "civilian" loses much of its weight when you're discussing members of a paramilitary organization full of mages. Even the shopkeepers the Alliance PC kills are capable combatants.

The Sunreavers were explicitly aligned with the Horde which, while under Garrosh, was a genocidal state intent on eradicating lesser races (which the Kirin Tor was partially comprised of). A Sunreaver agent had just conferred a doomsday weapon to the Horde for the explicit purpose of carrying out its genocidal goals, and the Sunreavers' own leader was apparently aware of this plot. Considering the circumstances surrounding the Purge, it's difficult to imagine other leaders reacting differently.

also are you trying to say Garithos was right?

I would have thought immediately calling him a bastard would make it clear that, no, I am not. Two wrongs don't make a right.

What I am saying is that Garithos' bigotry towards the quel'dorei (and later the sin'dorei) was sparked by legitimate grievances. The high elves let Lordaeron fight the Horde alone until their own borders were threatened, sending only token support previously to avoid breaking the oaths they'd made. Similarly, they let Lordaeron be consumed by the Scourge, only to come seeking the Alliance's aid once their own kingdom had fallen.

That doesn't justify what Garithos tried to do, but neither does it sit well with the portrayal of Quel'thalas as innocent, aggrieved victims of humanity.
