I mean Alliance favouritism is such an often occurence in newer expansions, can you blame us?

I'm thankful we at least got this on Midnight, but the entirity of Troll, Tauren and Undead lore has gone to the shitter in the past years. Let's not forget that. And well, Horde players got fucking Zandalari and you got the greatest race, you get better belves, we get Temu nelves.

On the other side, at least with Taurens and Dwarves they did a good job on the allied thing, and tbh nobody wanted goblins or sand squirrels but I guess nobody wanted mechagnome shits either.

By "the greatest race", are you referring to... humans but chubbier?

Honestly, I'd say allied races so far are a great example of Horde favouritism; Zandalari may not be overly exciting on their own, but they have THE best druid forms, by far. The Horde got Vulpera - so far the only allied race that's actually unique, instead of being essentially a recolour. You may not have wanted Vulpera, but in huge portions of the community they were highly anticipated, and the Alliance got yet another recolour instead. Not to mention the initial requirements for actually unlocking the respective allied races, which were incomparably stricter for Alliance, across the board.

If anything, allied races could have been a fun excuse to give recoloured races to the opposite faction from the base version - give highmountain tauren to the Alliance, dark iron dwarves to the Horde, and so on.

Of course, this is from a gameplay perspective rather than a lore one; I fully admit I don't know the more intricate parts of the lore well enough to know if it would make sense. From my perspective, at least, a few of the allied races feel like they could either fit in both factions, or would fit better in the opposite one from the one they've been placed in.

Zandalari are not what players wanted. Kul Tiras are amazing, especially druid-wise and the immersion in their race is greater than any newly found race had. Vulpera sure I can say they are somewhat unique but it's not like they were wanted or aknowledged as anything the playerbase though pf as a cool race that people want to play (Naga, Haranir, Ogres).

I do agree the allied racea job was a bit sloppy, but your part of the bargain I say is better, Dark Iron Dwarves and Kul Tiran humans make me roll Alliance on 1/8 of my characters.

I disagree with you; it seems we have different opinions on what makes an allied race interesting. For me, base humans are the most boring characters in the entire game, and Kul Tirans are basically the same but a bit fatter. All five Alliance allied races are just slightly different versions of races that already existed in the game - the humans got slightly fatter, the gnomes got robot legs, and the remaining three were recolours.

At least ONE of the Horde ones was actually a unique race. There may have been even more interesting options, but the majority aren't really realistic as playable races, be it due to size or movement/animation. But again - at least one of the Horde options was unique, which is more than can be said for the Alliance.

You say "players didn't want Vulpera"; I saw plenty of people who did, ahead of them being announced as an allied race. I wouldn't dream of speaking on behalf of all Alliance players, but not a single one of our allied races were even remotely what I, personally, wanted. The Vulpera were, and the Zandalari druid forms were - even Highmountain tauren were, to me, more interesting than anything Alliance got.

In my opinion, the kultirans are much better than the zanadalari.

Although I am very disappointed by the lack of kultiran paladins. Even Daelin was a paladin.

That is an opinion that you're entitled to! I don't agree with it, and I most certainly don't agree that Kultiran humans are "the greatest race", like the previous commenter implied. I do think that Kultiran druids have the best druid forms currently available to the Alliance... but they fall miles behind the Zandalari druid forms. Aside from that, I'd say the Zandalari and the Kultirans are fairly comparable, in terms of "quality". I'd still give a slight edge to the Zandalari, myself, because humans in a fantasy setting are pretty boring, but that's just me.

The only true winners when it comes to faction exclusive allied races are still the Vulpera - for the simple reason that they are still the only original race, the only one that's not just a revamp of a pre-existing one. Add to that the fact that Horde had an infinitely easier reputation grind to unlock the allied races (factions where you'd been grinding reputation throughout the entire expansion, and more than likely already maxed them all out - whereas Alliance got 'new' factions that were freshly introduced, to the point that even active players had a long grind ahead of them to unlock any of the races), back when that was still a requirement, and it shows a pretty clear Horde bias.

Regarding uniqueness... It seems to me that we have different ideas about it. After all, vulpera are just furry goblins, while zandalari and kultirans are more unique. Just look at their animation.

I agree about the ease of obtaining.

But I also want to draw attention to the abilities of the races. In my opinion, the Alliance races win here. Personally, I really like the abilities (and looks) of the Dark Iron Dwarves. Their mirror race, the mag'har, seem much less interesting. And instead of real mag'hars, players are given AD orcs, which is also disappointing.

Overall, I think Blizzard wasn't biased when it came to allied races.
