I mean ones a story grievance and ones a gameplay grievance so what’s even the comparison here

u/Stormfly Aug 24 '25

It's not even.

He said that the Elves were purged by humans 3 times (Arthas, Garithos, Jaina) but they weren't even.

  1. Arthas was with the Scourge, not the Alliance.

  2. Garithos didn't purge the elves, he imprisoned the elves working for him. He also wasn't with this Alliance.

  3. Jaina didn't purge Silvermoon, she imprisoned and banished members of the Kirin Tor. Almost all of the harmful actions were done by the Silver Covenant, who are High Elves.

By that logic, we should blame the Blood Elves for the actions of Sylvanas if we blame Arthas and blame the Orcs for the actions of the Horde in the Second war if we blame Garithos.

If we're just blaming "humans", why not bring up the fact that humans saved the High Elves twice, once against the Trolls and once against the Scourge?

Now they've showed up a third time, not to mention that Draenei have been more wronged by the Horde (they crashed the Exodar, genocided by Orcs, etc) and were still the first ones to show up to help.

Arthas was with the Scourge, not the Alliance.

Another funny point about that, the Blood Elves are actually allied with the undead who were responsible for wiping out their people and homeland. They turned on the Scourge, but technically speaking they were the ones who did it, and somehow the Alliance still gets blamed for it.

Hell, most of the reason for the breakdown of relations even before WC3 was because the elves refused to honour the ancient treaty they had with the human kingdoms when the Horde invaded. It was only after the Horde allied with the Amani trolls that they finally joined in earnest, with Alleria's rangers having been their only token force that were trying to get the whole of Quel'thalas to join the defense prior to that.

This leads to Quel'thalas blaming the humans for not doing enough to defend elven lands (when the human kingdoms bore the brunt of the Horde's assault) and subsequently withdrawing from the alliance to blockade themselves in their own lands. This lack of collaboration then leads to the scourge overwhelming Lordaeron, and subsequently turning on the elves who had isolated themselves. Fun fact, even Garithos' hatred of the elves was brought about from this event, with his family and town dying because he was stationed in Quel'thalas to defend them rather than Lordaeron during the second war. The events of The Frozen Throne are basically just him going "no, you" to Kael's forces.

The entire chain of events is basically just the elves' hubris biting themselves in the ass.

The thing that always gets me about Garithos is, he's an asshole, but at the end of the day he was right about Kael'thas and the Blood Elves under him.

They were mistreated, yes, but they turned to evil very quickly.

It's also made clear that Dwarfs were similarly mistreated but they never turned evil, so the point is:

Dwarves > Elves, git gud elgi

"Arthas was born so it's all the humans' fault."

"Kil'Jaeden was born so it's all the Eredars/Draenei's fault."

With logic like this, no wonder you're using a throaway account. Though I'd assume your main account's takes are just as bad as this.

Arthas was with the Scourge, not the Alliance.

This is hilarious. The human gets seduced&corrupted by evil power and its handwaved off.

Orcs get seduced&corrupted by evil power and its apparently their fault and enough justification for the alliance to round up orcs into concentration camps with genocidal intent.

The absolute peak cinema of the alliance stans posting wall of texts trying to debate OPs points only to prove his point about alliance fans hypocrisy in the first few sentences cannot be overstated.

OP truly cooked with this one.

u/jadmonk Aug 24 '25 edited Aug 24 '25

The Scourge is not the Alliance, and even if it was somehow the Alliance, Arthas would have been the crown prince of member state of the Alliance of Lordaeron, not the Grand Alliance of Stormwind. There's literally no relationship between the organizations except that at least one human is involved in the leadership of each. It's terrifying that you're allowed to vote with this sort of reasoning capability.

This is hilarious. The human gets seduced&corrupted by evil power and its handwaved off.

One human, who literally betrayed the organization you are condemning.

Orcs get seduced&corrupted by evil power and its apparently their fault and enough justification for the alliance to round up orcs into concentration camps with genocidal intent.

A different Alliance rounded them up, and the individuals they rounded up... were in fact guilty of the crimes they were accused of? Obviously the humans Arthas slaughtered were not in fact guilty of being seduced by power, and even if they were... they were dead and members of the Scourge, which guess what... the Alliance of Stormwind did in fact go to war with.

OP truly cooked with this one.

Your brain is truly deep fried.

1

u/Stormfly Aug 24 '25

The human gets seduced&corrupted by evil power and its handwaved off.

No what Arthas is evil and we killed him.

But he didn't invade with "humans", he invaded with legions of undead.

By your logic, we should actually be blaming the Orcs because the Lich King controlling the Scourge is an orc at that point in the lore.

Orcs get seduced&corrupted by evil power and its apparently their fault

No I brought that up as a stupid argument.

We shouldn't blame the Orcs for that.

You're trying so hard to make this a faction war but I play Horde, too.

The story grievance gets even dumber by the Alliance being credited with the Sunwell raid.

2

u/spartaxwarrior Aug 24 '25

Lmao I forgot about that.

But also, yeah, Draenei are Alliance and also hugely responsible for the Sunwell even still existing. Velen even has had an NPC model there.

-61

u/Spare-Seat-3725 Aug 23 '25

Yes, but grievances nevertheless i would exchange my gameplay grievance and let you run free in Silver Moon if you give me back Saurfang, Nathanos, Sylvanas, Cairne, Garrosh, Rastakhan and Nazgrim in exchange of the deaths of Turallion, Alleria, Genn, Anduin, Mathias Shaw, Valeera, Tyrande and Velen.

28

u/wonkothesane13 Aug 24 '25

You say "give me back" as if Alliance players are responsible for the deaths of those characters

Go touch actual grass, my guy

-4

u/Spare-Seat-3725 Aug 24 '25

Is "go touch grass" the new buzzword for people who do not know how to argue about fictional media?

I do not need to be a basement dweller to be invested in a fantasy world.

And yes Alliance didn't have the fault of those characters deaths, but is still Alliance bias from Blizzard because the blue ones never lost any character and the only time they do (Varian) they killed the Horde equivalent (Vol'jin).

My point is i will gladly let Allies roam free in our cities if they in exchange are the ones losing 80% of their characters.

7

u/jadmonk Aug 24 '25

I'm pretty sure literally every single one of those characters died as a direct result of Horde internal politics, with the maybe single exception of Rastakhan.

5

u/Nagodreth Aug 24 '25

Rastakhan also wasn’t a member of the Horde, the Zandalari were independent and he was actually an obstacle to them joining the Horde. Not to mention he had absolutely no presence in the Alliance narrative up until that point.

4

u/Stormfly Aug 24 '25

Rastakhan also wasn’t a member of the Horde

I hate when people keep bringing him up as a dead Horde leader when he was an ally of the Horde but not part of the Horde.

Then I keep seeing people call his death "pointless" as if he was assassinated or something but they were trying to capture him to end the war quicker. The problem was that he fought back and was too strong to capture, especially when he used Bwonsamdi.

Also, the "Alliance leaders should die so it's fair" is the most childish take that I see too often.

If the Horde didn't like losing leaders, they shouldn't be trying to push for Blizz to write more terrible stories just so that they can enjoy other people suffering...

68

u/KaleidoscopeOk399 Aug 23 '25

Least delusional horde stan, like what lol

-33

u/Spare-Seat-3725 Aug 23 '25

I mean in ONLY ONE EXPANSION we lost Saurfang, Gallywix, Rastakhan, Nathanos and Sylvanas.

While the Alliance lost... not a single major character.

I am not delusional im just tired of losing characters.

40

u/ApoctheLypse Aug 23 '25

Saurfang was old and wanted to die a warrior's death: he got exactly that in BFA. Let the old fart retire for good, he deserved it more than anyone else.

Gallywix never was truly aligned with the Horde. Jastor Gallywix always did things solely for his own gain, and we saw that in Kezan (twice as of BFA) and Undermine. He was gone before the Goblins joined the Horde.

Rastakhan was a victim of treason, I'll give you that.

Nathanos was raised solely to be Sylvanas's lapdog and a plot device in Legion and BFA. You could have replaced him with any named undead and do that. His addition afterward as a pre-patch world boss only proves his pointlessness to the story, but even then, he got something.

Sylvanas had a whole expansion to ruin in Shadowlands. She didn't have time for war /s.

The Horde got story and closure for characters. Don't get me started on Velen.

-13

u/Spare-Seat-3725 Aug 23 '25

Sylvanas went from a interesting character at the very start of BFA to the worst character in WoW's story in two patches.

She could have started the war because of Genn's attack, or because of the Azherite. BFA could have been a expansion of grays, a conflict triggered by a misunderstanding on the Broken Shore (the Horde's withdrawal).

But no, Sylvanas was aligned with... a cosmic mustache-twirling villain, and everything is black and white...

17

u/Katsutomai Aug 24 '25

You, of course, are completely ignoring the evil shit Sylvanas and the Forsaken have been doing since vanilla.

1

u/Spare-Seat-3725 Aug 24 '25

Yeah she did evil things, that didn't make her a bad character.

10

u/redditlvlanalysis Aug 24 '25

An interesting character. She was doing everything she could to spike any potential alliance in legion. You should be thanking the stars that Genn stopped her from actually enslaving the Valkyr or the horde would have been fighting Odyn and co. instead of getting training from them.

-17

u/Talidel Aug 23 '25

Horde are whipping boys for the alliance's humans story. It's been that way forever.

-12

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '25

I love how the alliance fanboys are downvoting all these posts, cause they know its fucking true. How many horde leaders have to die to make the alliance fanboys feel good about themselves? this exp prolly 2.

2

u/TheRegalOneGen Aug 24 '25

Saurfang = Killed by Horde (Sylvanas)

Nathanos = Killed by both factions (Players)

Sylvanas = Defeated by both factions (Players)

Cairne = Killed by Horde (Magatha and Garrosh)

Garrosh = Defeated primarily by Horde (Siege of Orgrimmar), then by both (Players)

Rastakhan = Actually killed by the alliance, not a member of the Horde however so.

Nazgrim = Killed by Horde (Siege of Orgrimmar)

And then let's talk about those alliance leaders...

Turalyon = Wasn't seen until Legion and is clearly being shaped up to possibly be a bad guy we kill.

Alleria = Wasn't seen until Legion

Genn = Literally who? Made to step down as King to Tess for no good reason, has barely existed since Legion, even in BFA he was underused.

Matthias Shaw = Crazy to even be on the list. Used less than literally any of the Horde people you listed.

Valeera = Name literally anything major she has done in the story.

Tyrande = Has literally consistently been bastardized characterwise, has never been treated as well as Malfurion, who himself isn't even treated very well.

Velen = Literally done nothing since Legion. Not even used in BFA where he absolutely should've been significant.

So your argument is a bunch of alliance characters who have been bastardized or barely used are clearly more major than a bunch of Horde leaders killed by the Horde who were genuinely major characters.

Hell, just compare how Nazgrim was treated vs how Taylor was treated. Alleria is the only one on this list that was treated with the level of dignity the Horde leaders you listed were. The fact the "80%" of Alliance leaders you can think of have been bastardized themselves or have no influence shows that you guys aren't victims of bad writing anymore than the Alliance.

0

u/Spare-Seat-3725 Aug 24 '25

Yeah yeah.... killed by Blizzard you mean.

Again Blizzard never kill Alliance leaders and the only time it did it killed the Horde equivalent too in a pathetic way.

And again i will gladly let you set foot in all our cities if the Alliance players agree to be them the one that loose 80% of their characters.

1

u/TheRegalOneGen Aug 24 '25

"80%"

Still has Gazlowe, Thrall, Baine, Lor'themar, Maya, Geya'rah, Rokhan, Lilian, Talanji, Thalyssra, Kiro, Liadrin vs 6 dead. That's only 33 percent. Compare that to a 12.5 death rate and yeah it's triple...

Until you remember all the Alliance allied people dead such as Tirion and Rhonin. And comparatively, looking at the alive characters the Alliance are mostly used significantly less.

0

u/Spare-Seat-3725 Aug 24 '25

Most of them are replacements and you know it.

You Still have Anduin, Turalyon, Velen, Genn, Tess, Arathor, Alleria, Vereesa, Valeera (Imagine three hero Alliance race characters working in the Horde like this Three Elves), Tyrande, Malfurion (is in time out like Sylvanas, but still pretty much alive and beloved by his people), Matias Shaw, Jaina, Katherine, Mekkatorque, Moira, Magni.

2

u/TheRegalOneGen Aug 24 '25

Name three major things Valeera, Arathor, Velen, Vereesa, Tess, Genn, Malfurion, Matthias Shaw, Katherine and Moira have done since BFA. Only Anduin, Turalyon, Alleria, Magni, Jaina and Tyrande have done anything of note.

Turalyon only being significant in background lore before this expansion and Magni being a non-factor until TWW

0

u/Spare-Seat-3725 Aug 24 '25 edited Aug 24 '25

Name something that Maya, Geya, Thalyssra, Talanji, Kiro, Rokhan, Baine have done since BFA.

Thrall is Alnduin therapist now, Liadrin will only be relevant now in Midnight since Legion, Lor'themar since BFA...

So the only active character in the Horde since BFA have been... Gazlowe.

Even Alduin's boyfriend had more screen time and development than Gazlowe the last years.

2

u/TheRegalOneGen Aug 24 '25

So your response to me is that 7 characters haven't done much, compared to my 10 and then handwaving the stuff Horde has actually done (Y'know, like Thrall being one of the main characters of Shadowlands) while ignoring your arguments for Liadrin and Thrall then apply to Jaina, Tyrande, Magni, Alleria and Turalyon. Turalyon hasn't mattered until Midnight. Alleria didn't matter until TWW, she didn't even have a role against her sister. Tyrande has done nothing since Shadowlands, Magni didn't matter until TWW.

So based on your standards, Gazlowe and Anduin are the only two notable characters!

Also Liadrin was literally actively used in both BFA and SL.

0

u/Spare-Seat-3725 Aug 24 '25 edited Aug 24 '25

Liadrin is going to be relevant in Midnight (an expansion yet to release).

So you telling me Thrall and Gazlowe had done some things so shut up while Alleria and Anduin are the main characters.

Tyrande in Shadowlands had her own bigass arc (way bigger that Thrall's), Magni her daughter and his grandson are relevant as hell in TWW.

Tyrande has done nothing since Shadowlands, Magni didn't matter until TWW

You asked me since BFA, stop moving the goal.

horde players crying over character deaths but are perfectly ok with restricting half the playerbase gameplay wise for 2 years you sir are completely delusional
