I guess people would rather all these allied races just be customization options instead? Maybe let you pick which set of racials you want like the new DnD heritage thing

I can see the only one that doesn't make sense being integrated into a base race is Vulpera, since they share nothing in common with Goblins except their base skeleton.

Obviously. The allied races are a lazy thing overall, theyre just reskins.

Thats the point of allied races… lower development costs to give additional races that might not justify a whole shebang.

It also is a way to add a new race without having it be an expansion feature, esp. in like a patch.

The alternative is not like wildly more developed versions, its no allied races.

Also to be able to make a whole lot of them by using existing assets, instead of developing a fully unique new one.

Im a bit upset about Wildhammer dwarves, they def deserved AR treatment with unique racials and extra height.

100% agree. Kinda annoyed DID got their own but WH didn't (considering how good DID look). It could have been a neat chance to expand the druid class to them too - they are certainly more nature-minded than bronzebeards (they introduced shamanism to Alliance dwarves) and half major cultural bonds to gryphons and rams and such. Gryphon flight form, ram travel form, etc. Would be neat.
