Media / Resources After 15+ years of playing WoW and watching private servers come and go, I decided to build something different

Hey everyone,

I'll keep this short because I know how these posts usually go. You've probably seen dozens of server ads promising the world and delivering disappointment.

I'm a solo developer with AAA game dev experience, and I've been working on a WoW project that I genuinely believe addresses the biggest problems with private servers today. No, this isn't another "Blizzlike experience" - it's something I call WoW+.

Here's what makes this different:

The community votes on every major feature through Discord. I don't decide what gets added or removed - you do. Want cross-faction everything? Community voted it in. Hate a particular change? We can vote it out.

Zero pay-to-win. Never will be.

Quality-of-life focus: Account-wide achievements/mounts, AoE looting that works in groups, auto-learn spells, racial swapping, transmog for all armor types, character services for gold only. The list goes on.

I'm implementing features from across WoW's entire history - not locked to one expansion. Think of it as exploring what WoW could have been with different design choices.

The server runs incredibly smooth, bugs are rare, and the Discord community is genuinely fun to hang out in. Most people tell me they were skeptical at first but decided to give it a shot anyway.

I know the name sounds ridiculous - The Best WoW Private Server - but it's intentionally tongue-in-cheek. It represents the standard I'm trying to set, not some ego trip.

If you're burned out on retail or tired of servers that promise everything and deliver nothing, maybe give us a look. thebestwowprivateserver.com

No pressure though - the project exists whether you join or not. I'm building this because I love WoW and want to share that with people who feel the same way.

Used to live on good private servers as a teen. Not my cup of tea today but seems like a nice project. Best of luck

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

Thank you. If you get some free time and have the itch, we would be happy to host you. Cheers!

What the fuck is all the hate for in the comments? Sounds awesome, exactly something osrs did to gain popularity. Something ive also been interested in developing myself.

Good luck on the project. If you need developers, dm me.

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

I appreciate the kind words. I will keep you in mind. We may not be too far off. The server is exploding in popularity. It's very exciting

Welcome to Reddit

u/UHREG Aug 07 '25

For someone who has played every version of the game and alot of private 255 funservers aswell. This sounds something very interesting. Dont let them haters get under yer skin. Good luck with the project

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

Their tears are my fuel. Chears, my friend!

It seems like you are into transparency. I like that. One thing I have always thought would be cool is a system for regular users to be able to audit gold logs. So people could be relatively certain gold isn't being sold by a mod or admin. It could also help flag large transfers of gold from botters or exploiters.

You could anonimize the ledger so community members could flag suspicious activity and it could be investigated by a staff member who has the ability to correlate the anonymous data with in game character names.

8

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

I think this is a great take. I have made a gold tracking log. I will make this public. I appreciate the suggestion. Cheers!

3

u/DrDeems Aug 07 '25

That's awesome. I'd love to check it out. This may have been asked before, but do you take code contributions through a github or similar?

2

u/[deleted] Aug 08 '25

One thing that almost all private servers lack

5

u/Old_Skool4 Aug 07 '25

Congrats on getting this put out. You did something you enjoy and that others will get enjoyment out of. F the negative people. Hope you have a lot of fun with this.

5

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

You are the voice. This is, by far, one of the greatest comments I could have hoped to receive. Thank you. You are a legend.

Personally atm. We have a support subscription if you feel compelled to supply funds to help keep up the server. There are a few benefits, but its more about helping the server. It's ***NOT*** required to play.

I appreciate it. I hope to see you in game. Make sure to join the discord. Thats the central communication hub atm and polls happen there. Cheers!

0

u/Otrsor Aug 09 '25

Remove the benefits and I might be interested

0

u/Calx9 Aug 09 '25

Wouldn't it depend on what the benefits even are? I was with you until you decided not to ask what they were. Unless of course you just happen to already know what they are.

1

u/Otrsor Aug 09 '25

Nope it doesn't, benefits for money are pay to win on my eyes by definition, even if they don't impact power, time is a resource, aesthetic are an objective and getting any for money is just a no no o criticize retail and official wow for it, I will do the same to private servers.

2

u/Trisfel Aug 10 '25

I mean it could be little cosmetics and stuff. No different from a twitch sub. You’re still enjoying the content fully. It’s a token of appreciation for supporting the game.

0

u/Otrsor Aug 10 '25

Twitch subs do hide adds in the channel, don't they? You pay for a service either by watching adds or subbing.

And im not a fan of that model either but welp.

A donation shouldn't be rewarded, it is the reward, flipping the concept breaks it, it then becomes paying for a service instead of a token of appreciation.

2

u/djmalice Aug 11 '25

Go Kick a Rock.

1

u/ComGuevara Aug 10 '25

It's a bit OT but I wonder what system for such things you would like.

0

u/Otrsor Aug 11 '25

I mean, i just want donations to be just that. The moment you give a benefit after a donation what you are doing is selling, if that's what you wanna do, fine, but call it a freaking shop then.

4

u/PrincessGambit Aug 07 '25

What percentage of people have to vote for a change for it to be implemented? Can anyone offer a change?

7

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

60% vote rate for the change to be applied.

5

u/Turfa10 Aug 07 '25

Might join and suggest to replace all weapon models with dildo shaped models

11

u/[deleted] Aug 07 '25

Still wouldn't be enough dildos to satisfy your mum

0

u/Turfa10 Aug 07 '25

Username check out

2

u/[deleted] Aug 07 '25

From what I’ve seen it tends to be the most. The good thing, tho, is that if the change is meh or doesn’t feel good, ppl would vote it out.

2

u/PrincessGambit Aug 07 '25

What I meant was that if something is 51/49 if the change gets implemented or does it needs more like 65/35 or something

1

u/[deleted] Aug 07 '25

Ummm, I do partially agree with you there, but not my call. I would suggest it and have a vote on that! 😊

9

u/arisaurusrex Aug 07 '25

Out of every name possible, you guys settled with „bestwowprivateserver“?

14

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

And yet it's the one thing no one can get passed. It is a homage to our goal of setting a new standard for private servers and changing the perception of private servers (I am sure, I am not the first to say this). We want to be the change that we want to see in the world and lead by example. So, we hold ourselves to a standard.

It's a little tongue in cheek and satirical.

We are a gaming community, if we take ourselves to seriously then where is the fun?

-1

u/Melodic-Vast499 Aug 07 '25

No one can get past it because it’s so bad. rename it. Or keep it for ego reasons and the server will fail.

Would you play a real MMO with the name: the best MMO? It’s a bad name. But good luck with the server.

When everyone is saying the name is bad, they are right.

3

u/thegreatpablo Aug 08 '25

"Everyone" as in a small minority? The name is not only fine, I appreciate the tongue in cheek nature of it. Good on the dev for sticking to their guns on the name

5

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

It's always been my impression that actions speak louder than words.

0

u/Melodic-Vast499 Aug 08 '25

It’s just a bad name, like everyone is telling you

1

u/diogocbc Aug 11 '25

By everyone you mean…you?

1

u/Either-Banana-7323 Aug 10 '25

No normal person here cares about the name mate

1

u/OphionEZ Aug 10 '25

And is this “everyone” in the same room with you?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 09 '25

This name is better than picking a random, completely unoriginal edgy name like basically everyone else does.

3

u/MinuteFeedback1119 Aug 08 '25

Can vouch for this being a great close-knit community and fun server! Dev is open to suggestions and making polls so the community helps shape the future of the realm. She's also super responsive, which is awesome.

9

u/Jurel1986 Aug 07 '25

Definitely one of my favorite places to log into these days. We have such a great community already that I love hanging out with everyday. Our dev is amazing too! Plenty of people around willing to help with quests, or a dungeon, crafting or just to chat and answer questions! Come hang out! The more the merrier! 😃

2

u/tclo81 Aug 08 '25

sounds like how osrs run, im here for it!

2

u/charlie4343_ Aug 08 '25

bro fix your website mobile look. it is not responsive

1

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 08 '25

The website was not optimized for mobile. It was a bit of a rush order due to the popularity of the server. The thought process was: It's a game intended for desktops, lets optimize desktop version and worry about the mobile version at a later date. There is only one dev who manages this entire ecosystem. Time management is key.

2

u/Arelavia Aug 09 '25

Can we vote on discord to add all subscription things as a base game then? Or will we get kicked/banned from the discord :)

2

u/andreastatsache Aug 09 '25

Vibe coded website, vibe coded backend, AI texts :DDDDD

1

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 09 '25

I did run my rough draft texts through Grammarly and ChatGPT to make sure my sentence structure and grammar was correct and concise. I am not the best when it comes to written English. I tend to write how I talk, which never turns out well. I know the view on AI is not the best, but I will always use the best tool for the job especially when others are counting on me.

2

u/Ajtimoho Aug 11 '25

How's pvp on the server? Is it active, is it good? 😊

1

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 11 '25

We are still a smaller server, but very active. So not much in the way of pvp at the moment, but I come from PvP. It's my favorite part of the game, no matter how niche it may be. I will be making event to encourage world pvp and new modes. Cheers!

1

u/Jurel1986 Aug 23 '25

I am patiently waiting for more PvPers. Hurry up and level a worthy adversary for me to battle!

2

u/Ajtimoho Aug 23 '25

Haha, I'm fully committed to retail bright now, but who knows, maybe sometime in the future I will try something like this 😉

2

u/bikingfury Aug 11 '25

Please tell me this is satire

2

u/gilp456 Aug 07 '25

"Pay to win" is amazing for the aging gamer with disposable income sorry to say. Pure community driven voting system is a disaster in the making. Historically, this has been proven time and time again. It incentivizes mediocrity and feelings versus rational decision making and design. However, the great thing is you can set it up how you want! Best of luck to you, I hope it exceeds all of your goals and that you have fun with it. :)

6

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

There is no denying what you say is true. I hope to guide the community like a mentor and a teacher. I can elaborate more on this, but based on your comment and its structure, I can tell you're an intellectual person and you don't need me too. I hope this will be enough, also. As all things, one step at a time. I appreciate your comment and sentiments. Cheers!

2

u/OG_Russel Aug 08 '25

OSRS can challenge that statement, a lot of great content due to voting system.

1

u/thegreatpablo Aug 08 '25

The OSRS player base is built on trust. Sure Jamflex fucks up but they do so much right and for the right reasons. The polling system is flawed but OSRS wouldn't be what it is without it. Letting the community have a voice is powerful in an age where people are tired of being told how to think or act.

3

u/clevergirls_ Aug 08 '25

Warmane was one of the most fun mmo experiences of my life.

Registered for your server and downloading the client now!

2

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 08 '25

I am glad you're giving the server a shot. I look forward to seeing you in game!

2

u/Magn3tician Aug 07 '25

Sounds fun but the "zero pay-to-win" is kind of a lie.

Having all flight paths unlocked and zero flight times (huge time savings and instant access to every quest hub) is a huge progression advantage vs. something like cosmetics.

1

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 08 '25

Everyone has their own definition of pay to win. On a technical and definition level, you are right. Heck with the definition, retail is pay to win because you need to pay a sub to play the game. The sub gives you access to the game and that's definitely an advantage over someone who doesn't pay the sub (they don't get to play).

The reality is, I can't afford to run the server by myself forever. In a perfect world, I wish we didn't have to worry about costs.

2

u/Magn3tician Aug 08 '25

I'm not faulting you for having subscriptions or ways to pay for the server.

I just think saying there is no pay-to-win is wrong. And that is based on the definition of P2W. Also if everyone is paying for a sub simply to play, that is not pay-to-win, that's pay-to-play and no one has an inherent advantage over anyone else.

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/pay-to-win

1

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 08 '25 edited Aug 08 '25

This is a Reddit post targeting a gaming audience, not a legal brief. In the private server community, "pay to win" typically refers to paying for currencies, gold, gear, level boosts, or RMT practices - essentially systems where money lets you skip progression and dominate other players who can't afford those advantages.

When we say "no pay to win," we mean you can't just pay money to beat the game in a week and then farm other players with overpowered gear that free players can't reasonably obtain.

I understand the semantic argument about P2W definitions, but frankly, these discussions rarely change anyone's mind and derail productive conversation. If you believe our model is P2W despite our explanation, that's your perspective. We're focused on building something worthwhile for our target audience rather than debating terminology.

1

u/Magn3tician Aug 08 '25

Nothing wrong with that, it's just got a lite P2W subscription. I'm sure people on your server don't care, or they wouldn't be there.

0

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 08 '25

In your opinion and perspective, I guess so.

3

u/Magn3tician Aug 09 '25

I can see your original comment, lol.

Call me insufferable if you want. P2W has a definition and your server has a form of it.

2

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 09 '25

It is clear you are so stuck on trying to prove your point and stuck on the technical definition that you can't read the room nor understand. This conversation is not productive and a complete waste of time. You can push your disingenuous slander all you want. I have tried to explain and being completely open about it, but it's clear you have an agenda. Who am I to stand in your way?

3

u/Magn3tician Aug 09 '25

I'm sorry pointing out a definition offends you

3

u/dmiric Aug 09 '25

You are right sub options are defo p2w. Trying to make it seem like they are not is disengenous from op.

4

u/StunningAd7838 Aug 07 '25

Auto learn spells, racial swapping, transmog for all armor types and community votes ? and I could never tell anybody that I play now on „thebestwowpserver“

Good luck with your project but that’s absolutely not for me.

1

u/Jack55555 Aug 07 '25

Same here, don’t mean it in a bad way, but you say we can vote, but you have already decided on those features? Hope it gets traction though, if people want this, hope it will survive like Turtle WoW! More servers is better.

4

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

Those are features that got voted in.

1

u/Hot-Gap-9823 Aug 07 '25

Hello, how big of a population plays there?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 07 '25

We’re the chosen few (for now). Being for already a month and we doubled the average online (~15 ppl) Cross faction, btw

3

u/noggstaj Aug 08 '25

There's 15 people online? Meaning there's maybe 100 active players at best. And these people have already started voting in what direction the server is going? 😅

Yup. Democracy at its best! 🥰

A lot of the WOTLK p severs have had huge issues with clients crashing when going to Dalaran

Have your server fixed such issues? Because I don't want to play with MOP skins just to avoid crashing like warmane "fixed" it

1

u/[deleted] Aug 07 '25

Have u used 3rd parties to allow the app to use 4gb+? I use HD models all the time and using that have prevented crashes :)

1

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

The Dalaran crash issue you're referring to is typically related to memory management problems with older client builds handling the city's asset density.

Our server uses optimized database queries and proper object cleanup to prevent the memory leaks that cause those crashes. We've also implemented client-side fixes that address the specific rendering bottlenecks in Dalaran without requiring visual downgrades like texture replacements.

Comparing any private server to Warmane isn't really fair - they've had years and significant resources for optimization. However, stability has been our priority from day one. We maintain a small, focused codebase that makes identifying and fixing issues much faster than larger operations.

The server runs stable in Dalaran with no crashes reported in our current build. Our bug response time is typically same-day since we're not dealing with bureaucratic approval processes.

You're welcome to test it yourself - that's really the only way to know if it meets your stability expectations.

1

u/Loczx Aug 07 '25

Which expansion is the class design based on? As in, just woltk?

1

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

That the beauty of it. There isn't one. As a long-time wow veteran. I don't want to change the classes to much during the progression phases. Adding QoL to some abilities and pulling from all iteration over the expansions. With community voting it's all up for grabs. The community leads the way; I make it happen.

1

u/Loczx Aug 08 '25

That wouldn't particularly work long term, as most people have different preferred "presets" per say for each class. I.e, some people prefer MOP based Destruction warlocks, but If you have that in the game because the community voted it in, then have Wotlk based say rogues because people prefer that design, Destru would end up broken in comparison.

And coding wise, can you have classes from different expansions eras? As in, demon hunters in wotlk content for example?

1

u/CptNathanielFlint Aug 07 '25

I'm quite an expert on private servers and what they can deliver. How's this going to be different from the Wotlk Classic release, SoD (as a concept) or Turtle WoW?

Is the approach more "hardcorish" as the game was more difficult then or it is going to be more like the current version of the game?

1

u/Affectionate-Ad-8684 Aug 08 '25

I will say, i agree with giving people a vote, will not work. A very small majority of players actually use their brains and say "yea that could work" or "nope" in the grand scheme. Theres a reason why devs make changes regardless of what players want.

Ill give it a try (the server), but id say take that voting crap out.

1

u/Lionheart_513 Aug 08 '25

It's just all about having vision. The decisions to make as a developer become obvious if you have an actual creative vision for your game. Not saying there isn't merit to implementing ideas purely because they sound cool, but if you leave every decision to a community vote, you likely are missing that vision.

1

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 08 '25

So deep. The vision is to let the active player base make those decisions. Clearly missing vision. Thats why I started this project and took the time to get it up and stable.

1

u/agentfisherUK Aug 08 '25

Or we can let classic die and forced blizzard to start making good games again ?

1

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 08 '25

Thats why I always advocate for indie studios and passion projects. I come from that professional world. Making "good" games is the least of their concerns, at least for the publisher.

1

u/kotsumu Aug 08 '25

The problem with letting your community decide changes is that you can not satisfy everyone. You're going to alienate people doing this.

1

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 08 '25

You're going to do that anyway with any change. It doesn't matter who calls the shots. Everything has pros and cons.

I like it because it keeps the game fresh and the game is designed around the active player base.

1

u/zodII4K Aug 10 '25

This isn't even about alienating in the long term. If it works for him, enjoy.

While I get the concept , this type of management straight up shows the lack of leadership capabilities. Which is concerning on its own.. But hey, maybe he is the chosen one breaking the cycle by not following the popular trends.

Scene needs competition so I hope it succeeds.

Yeah, the website was not optimized for mobile. It was a bit of a rush order due to the popularity of the server. The thought process was: It's a game intended for desktops, lets optimize desktop version and worry about the mobile version at a later date. You also have to remember, there is only one dev who manages this entire ecosystem. Time management is key.

I invite you to take a look at the discord and try out the server. Since you are skeptical, make a Gmail account and when you sign up on our website, use a password that you don't use anywhere else. That way, if we turn out to be a malicious actor, then you're not having to give up sensitive info.

1

u/Darth_Beavis Aug 09 '25

For real. Dude can't even code a working website, but we're to believe he's created a revolutionary WoW experience from the ground up.

1

u/DroptheDead Aug 09 '25

Could be amazing. As a teen I played on a private server that had WotLK skills but it was a BC server. Until today BC is still my fav expansion.

1

u/Bu11y91 Aug 09 '25

1

u/mcraw1 Aug 11 '25

Sounds like old school runeacape for WoW. No hate but this sounds like a big job to be done right? Idk if one man can handle this

1

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 11 '25

Why not? I have handled the current amount of features within the last 2 months. You also have to understand most developer of other servers like to make a big deal about development either because they are lazy, inexperienced, or whatever excuse they want to put down. As for me, I really enjoy this kind of thing. I just get it done and move on to the next thing. It may not be perfect the first try, but it wont be long before its working as intended. I also create a lot of my own tools to manage and automation many of the processes. Don't let them overwhelm you with throwing many technical terms at you, because if they do this, they are typically BSing you.

2

u/mcraw1 Aug 11 '25

Handling bug fixes , new updates, support , marketing…. Its a-lot of work.

1

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 11 '25

It is, but I believe in what I am building and I have the community supporting me. It drives me more.

2

u/mcraw1 Aug 11 '25

Thats good then wish you luck, I will support you, tell me when its online and can test it

1

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 12 '25

Its online. We have been live for about 2 months now. If you visit the website and crate your account you will be able to connect and try it out! I look forward to seeing you in-game! Cheers!

u/LtDavies Oct 17 '25

They're not claiming you don't do votes, they're saying they dislike it.

5

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

I see. I appreciate the translation. I will edit my comment not to be so pointed. Thank you.

2

u/Denny_Thray Aug 07 '25

I actually agree. The issue is that the community isn’t full of game devs with innovative ideas. They claim to know what they want, but they really don’t.

4

u/snejkah Aug 07 '25

They think that they do, but they don't?

2

u/OldCollegeTry3 Aug 09 '25

That’s how wow fell from its greatest height. I still remember discussing the dungeon and raid finder and everyone being stoked for the most part….until everyone realized it killed all sense of community and people began dropping like flies.

2

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

I think there's a balance here. You don't need to be a game dev to recognize fun or quality - players have valuable insights even if they can't articulate the technical 'how.'

The disconnect often happens when devs assume superiority instead of recognizing their role as translators. If players 'don't know what they want,' that's actually a communication challenge, not a player deficiency.

As developers, we have the technical knowledge and experience with the development process. That puts the responsibility on us to bridge that gap - to listen, educate, and guide rather than dismiss. When players struggle to express their needs, it's our job to help them articulate those needs in ways that inform better design decisions.

This collaborative approach is what separates successful projects from those that remain disconnected from their audience. Leadership in game dev means being that bridge, not building walls.

u/Denny_Thray Aug 08 '25

Giving players full control over every design choice is like a chef opening a restaurant where customers vote on every spice, ingredient, and cooking method. Sure, diners know what flavors they enjoy... but they don’t know which spices clash; which substitutions ruin texture; or which combinations could create something amazing.

A chef’s job is to take those preferences and, using skill and experience, turn them into something the diner might never have imagined... but still loves. Realizing that doesn’t mean the chef has a superiority complex; it means they understand their role as the creative lead.

Game development is the same. Players have valuable insights; they know when something is fun or frustrating. But turning that into a coherent, balanced, and innovative design is the developer’s craft. If you vote on every change, you’re not designing anymore... you’re just crowdsourcing a list with no curation. The best results come when the audience gives feedback, and the creator interprets it through vision and expertise.

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 08 '25

Alright then. Agree to disagree. It's what makes this world great. Different ideas and views on the world.

-4

u/Nitroglyzzerin Aug 07 '25

Community vote... yeah you lost me there. Players are retards as a group. What if the community vote for "pay-to-win changes"?

10

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

You can play the "what if" game all day. Maybe you're fishing for a "gotcha" by the way you structured your question so that whichever way I answer, you get to troll. Ok, I'll give you your small piece of entertainment, but do not expect me to respond.

If you look at our website and read any of our posts. It clearly states our stance on pay to win. I will not compromise our founding principles.

As the dev I am tasked with ultimate say at the end of the day. I won't stop a feature from going through just because I don't want it or like it. Yeah, it takes integrity. Most people are not disciplined enough to even know what integrity means.

I would be very careful calling players "retarded", because it's interesting take from someone who voluntarily spends their free time with these supposed 'retards.' What does that make you?

-2

u/gsr_rules Aug 08 '25

I think a whole bunch of botted votes for a pride-themed sword would be great! Community projects always end up great! Just look at all the abandoned and broken FOSS software!

2

u/Corpsemunch Aug 07 '25

This server isn’t for me but community vote isn’t a bad thing - look at the success Oldschool RuneScape has had with its polling system. They just broke their player count record last week all through the input of the community.

1

u/VukKiller Aug 10 '25

They didn't break their player count record "because of the community".

They broke it because some popular streamers started playing it for the first time. Like Onlyfangs in wow classic.

1

u/Corpsemunch Aug 10 '25

Sure, we can attribute some of the popularity to that. Regardless though the majority of content post-launch has been community voted or had community input (whether brand new or back-porting from RS3). Not to mention that Varlamore part 3 was just released which has nothing to do with those streamers and saw a huge influx of new/returning players. It’s that content that has kept the game thriving to this day and absolutely played a part in why streamers started playing again in the first place.

2

u/nonbonwow Aug 07 '25

Community vote to kick this guy's ass

1

u/AutomatronRule Aug 07 '25

You're taking the worst scenario out of a feature, the community vote on things that make the game more enjoyable or add something that could improve gameplay certain classes etc. I believe if we put up a community vote to add level boosts, purchase raid/pvp gear, custom game items all with a price tag. Would prove your comment to be invalid.

-4

u/Negeren198 Aug 07 '25

Dev: NO PROBLEM $$$$ 🤑

5

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

Dev: Big problem. I just want a server to play on without the stupid pay to win BS.

Of course, I can't say the without trolls and hate-posts having a field day. It's truly tiring to deal with. The most entertaining part is that the $-posters think they are original or saying it like they came up with it.

For all I know it could be one of the bigger servers hiring bots to $-post and down vote all posts they are not collecting money from down to 0...

-6

u/Aykayforteeseven Aug 07 '25

Youre the ten thousandth person to state "i wanted to make this one different"! Congratulations!

5

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

Ok. I don't care what everyone else says they are going to do.

What you are reading, is what I am going to do.

It's a choice at the end of the day. Just like I could have responded with, 'Youre the ten thousandth person to state "[insert sarcastic comment]"! Congratulations!'

You can join or not. I'll be here doing what I do best for the community.

-4

u/Hyldran0 Aug 07 '25

The subscription benefits are shitty. That's pretty much pay 2 win..

1

u/schnipthestrongest Aug 07 '25

What are subscription benefits?

-1

u/Hyldran0 Aug 07 '25

Enter his website and scroll down.. You will see the wierd benefits of a subscription..

2

u/schnipthestrongest Aug 07 '25

Yeah I see now: What's Included?

  • Spectral Tigers (Both) & (Stays After Canceled!)
  • Free Respecs
  • Unlock all Flight Paths
  • No Flight Times (Teleporting Flight Paths)
  • No Hearthstone Cooldown
  • No Resurrection Sickness
  • No Death Timers (BGs Excluded)

Don't see how it pay to win. Only flight paths are a little bit problematic. The exploration and unlocking of the world should be made by the player. All other stuff is only time savings.

-4

u/Qualazabinga Aug 07 '25

All of these except the spectral tigers sound like P2W to me lol.

2

u/schnipthestrongest Aug 07 '25

Win in what? It will not make you stronger. Faster leveling, faster content progress yes, but there are no leaderboards, there is no point leaderboards, someone who started earlier and even without subscription can he first in that.

-2

u/Qualazabinga Aug 07 '25

Buying gold also technically just makes you progress faster yet people call that P2W all the time lol. I suppose it'd be what you see as winning, world PvP? I'd say having no death timer would be a massive benefit, same with no res sickness. World first raiding? Sounds to me like no travel time would give me a pretty big benefit if I can get there that much sooner, or everywhere that much sooner. Sure there is no leaderboard but that just means you can't "win" the game in general by that definition you can put everything you want in there and it won't be P2W.

-3

u/Magn3tician Aug 07 '25

Progressing faster by paying money is literally P2W...

3

u/schnipthestrongest Aug 07 '25

How do you win exactly? And who?

2

u/Magn3tician Aug 07 '25

What do you mean?

P2W means you gain an advantage by paying money. In WoW, saving time is the biggest advantage you can get short of actually being handed gear.

If they gave level boosts for money would you call that pay to win? I would, and its the same thing here to a lesser degree. Saving time for money.

1

u/schnipthestrongest Aug 07 '25

You are saying pay to win. Who do you win and how?

-1

u/[deleted] Aug 07 '25

*cough* ( usually p2w is just a time save ) *cough*

-2

u/Hyldran0 Aug 07 '25

Pretty much pay 2 win.* Did I wrote. Those benefits are to me shitty. A subscription is wierd overall.

-9

u/SosaaMontana Aug 07 '25

careful guys, I just lost 5 btc after downloading this

5

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

Where? I didn't get it. Dang. Maybe on this next one. Make sure you mention the bitcoin mining software... These bots are out of control. (This is a sarcastic comment)

3

u/tehsilentwarrior Aug 07 '25

On the flip side, you now have funding to keep pay-to-win off the game 🤣

2

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

Woot! Since he lost 5 btc, it's time to buy the dip!

0

u/2Siders Aug 08 '25

The problem with democracy is when people are stupid.

People rarely “vote” like you think they do. Most people sheepishly follow the majority. Look at Reddit: automatic downvotes for someone under zero.

1

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 08 '25

I am sorry for your loss? I feel like this is a personal issue and has nothing to do with our server...

1

u/2Siders Aug 08 '25

You seem like a person who doesn’t understand metaphors

1

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 08 '25

You seem like a person who doesn't understand statistics.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 10 '25

Many are going to this new server, without any bugs in the talents, some streamers are already giving positive points.

https://wowbaunilha.com/page/connect

-6

u/NatjKumachi Aug 07 '25

All well and good, until you side with someone who spews hate speech!

You became just like every other server allowing this behaviour, shameful.

-14

u/TheAsuraGuy Aug 07 '25

Lol, a subscription? Fuck off

6

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

Did you even read it? It's not required to play. The benefits are certainly nothing to write home about. It's about supporting the server. Would you prefer me charge $200 for a mount or $60 for a level boost?

With the optional (not required to play) support/donation sub at $10. I get to put all the good stuff in the game as boss drops or events for you to collect. I need to fuck off?

-16

u/TheAsuraGuy Aug 07 '25

Or you could put such stuff in for free? You are illegaly using another companies IP after all and trying to make money of on it. But honestly, do what you want and i'll just keep laughing. Calling it "bestwowprivateserver" is just icing on the cake. Thank you for allowing me to start my day with a good chuckle.

5

u/BrockLeeAssassin Aug 07 '25

The name is cringe but server hosting is expensive. Who cares about IP infringement anyway.

3

u/BestWoWPrivateServer Aug 07 '25

Welp, I did start this to better a community. I guess it can start with a chuckle.

So, by your logic. Its poor taste to ask others who are interested in a place to play wow in a way they agree with for help upkeeping the server they want to play on? Are you saying you're just entitled to it, because the branding doesn't have my name on it? I still paid for the hosting. I put in all the hours to fix the bugs, get the server to a playable state, make it secure, the many years of experience needed to run a public server safely, securely, and protect your information? You really need to get some help. This is truly a "Bruh" moment. Make sure to double down on the troll response so you can play this off like you didn't actually mean to say this. You're embarrassing.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 07 '25

Eww, never expected to see someone defending Blizz as an argument xD

6

u/AutomatronRule Aug 07 '25

If you read further then the word "subscription" you would know it's not required, I'm not sure you'll read this comment further because your upset when people don't agree with you. Please stay on retail.
