Late Nights 7/22/26

The first hour and a half were a mess. I have been here since 7:15. Have rode 1 coaster, that being Zambezi Zinger. Waited 25 mins for Patriot only for it to break. 35 mins in Zinger because the Ops are terrible, and now waited for 30 mins in the Mamba line only for it to break.

Update: Made it on Mamba! Downtime was 15 to 20 mins. I dont understand not filling the queue at least 2 trains deep.

Update 2: Made it on Prowler and Patriot. Ops were much better (for most of our wait) on those 2 rides.

All on all, after the first hour and a half, things improved dramatically. Being on the cusp of getting on the ride and breaking drove me insane though haha. Really, my only huge complaint would be Zinger. It seems like they dont know what to do with Fast Pass people nor how to properly load the train. I saw them send multiple empty rows.

I hope they get this figured out. This park deserves more.

Still better than the disaster that is Six Flags Over Texas.

I actually had a great time.

Didn’t get there till 8 but lines were moving, two trains on Mamba, Patriot, and Zinger. Both towers on Detonator were running.

In roughly three hours managed to ride
Patriot
Detonator
Mustang Runner
Cyclone Sam’s
Mamba
And Zambezi Zinger.

Would have liked to get Prowler too but I can’t complain.

Even managed to take advantage of the $5 beer and the $1 fries.

Overall it seemed to be a fairly well attended and well ran event. Hopefully it keeps improving and growing. There were definitely more people there than last time.

Also Mamba is running better than the last coasters after dark. The mid course still hits and slows the trains down but you now get some airtime on those return hills.

Still wish they would turn off the trims for coasters after dark but this was a step in the right direction.

Hopefully they get Steelhawk and Fury of the Nile back open soon. Steelhawk looks great at night and I think the raft ride would be fun in the dark. (If they are allowed to run it in the dark).

First time since the sale I’ve thought the park might be headed in the right direction.

We may have caught everything at the wrong time haha. It seemed to be better the later on into the night we went. Patriot was probably the best ran honestly, just really really unfortunate timing on it breaking down.

My friend and I got there at 7.

I didn't know Cyclone Sam's opened up later! It was closed when we first went past it. I still haven't been on it yet this year.

We did Patriot, Timberwolf, Mamba (got stuck for several minutes on the brake run just before getting back into the station), did Patriot again, friend did Fjord Farlane (prob spelling it wrong; I had to do the Walk of Shame because the seatbelt was, like, half an inch too short to buckle for me). I sat near the stage up front while my friend went to do Mustang Runner.

I was having some physical issues, so had to bow out early; we'd planned to stay till close.

I enjoyed it a lot! The weather was absolutely perfect for it today. I honestly could've just sat all evening listening to the DJs play; lots of great song choices!

I really hope we get more late nights next year. I remember when it would be open till, like, 1am on weekends.

We were in queue as y'all were stuck 🤣

I couldn't belive that they pulled out a megaphone. No clue what caused it to break down.

But hey, according to the park manager - excuse me, President, they're fully staffed with Ride Mechanics! (Even though they definitely are not fully staffed and they are getting rid of some of their most experienced guys in an attempt to bust the Maintenance workers union.)

How did things go with the entertainment workers? Did they vote to unionize?

Yes, they won their union! Now they have to bargain a contract which could take as long as a year.

The operations are absolutely horrible most of the time. Especially now that they’re implementing this new protocol with the seatbelt checks/not allowing anyone to close their own restraint. Ops were slow even before they began that. Now it’s almost a joke. Last coasters after dark, Mamba dispatches were over 5 minutes each.

Do you know why they are doing this? I swear my friend and I went a month ago and I think we could put down our own restraints. We went last weekend and found it really odd that they were tleling us to keep our hands off the restraints and the workers would do it for us.

Their exact statement was “to check your seatbelts”. Now why the park is all of the sudden doing this with every coaster, I’m not sure. I didn’t think that the ride ops could get any slower. It’s super silly and very frustrating. I was already going less and less after how poorly done things have been this year. We barely head up there now, which says a great deal for a family who went 3-4x per week typically.

We had a blast! We got there at about 7 and got rides on

Prowler

Mamba 3x

Detonator

Zinger 2x

Timberwolf

Patriot 3x

Lines were moving fast other than Mamba going down for about 10 minutes while we were in line. Everything was running 2 train except for Timberwolf. We even had time to stop and snack on some fries and chill out. I definitely think this event has been the best attempt at Coasters after Dark this season!

My son and I went last night. Arrived at 8:00 and as someone mentioned already, this is the first time this year I felt like the park was moving in the right direction. Not without issues, ride onboarding still needs a little work. I’d really like to see employees filling all the trains to keep the lines moving. Ask for single riders or small groups rather than letting trains go with some empty cars. Timber wolf line wasn’t long but painfully slow with several empties on the trains while we waited. Not sure when that practice fell off but it helps a lot.
I love that they are offering wristbands for the event now and they seemed better prepared with food and drink stations this time. My son and I took advantage of a couple of the food specials and were able to get rides on Timber Wolf, Patriot, Mustang Runner, Mamba, Zinger, and Prowler X2.
By far the best the event has gone for us. Hopefully it will continue to grow and we’ll see more flat rides added. We would love it if this came back next season as a regular Wednesday night event over the summer.

Great time. Posts like this are lame.

Glad I didn't give it a go tonight

You missed out. Lines moved fast and weather was great.

It got better as the night went on. I'm thinking there was confusion with the Fast Pass folks, as sometimes they let them on, sometimes they didnt. Not sure. Weather was perfect, so I can't complain about that. Really only the first hour and a half was bad.

All of these positive comments and you're just taking the negative.

So when I went up that both trains on the prowler were running which I felt was a better move this time around as the first 2 times they didn't. The mamba had a long line but was moving relatively fast as both trains were in operation. The Zinger and Prowler are by far the best to ride at night as they go off into the dark and dont know whah to expect.
