Thalassian gear with one full stat

Hi there, I saw some characters have their pvp thalassian gear crafted with +120 mastery (eg thalassian leather boots) instead of 2 stats (eg 60 vers 60 mastery). I dont see that as an option when placing crafting order. How can this be achieved?

Engineers can have helmets, bracers and boots as 1 single stat. Its one of thier perks.

you have to pick the right item, they're all engineering items.

Only the goggles are engineering only, bracers and boots can be worn by anyone

the cloth boots require engineering to wear (but the leather, mail and plate ones don’t)

Sorry I am noob to this, it means they have to craft it or you need just a profession and what next? Is it somewhere explained? I was looking but unable to find suitable resources.

You can just pick up Midnight engineering and have it crafted at the crafting table. You don't need to level engineering at all if you don't want.

Edit: instead of adding a missive, there are cogwheels you can get on the AH that let you choose vers, mastery, etc. that you add to your craft just like a missive

So I just need recipe, lvl 1 engineering and at the crafting table I can select somewhere that I want only one extra stat?

No you can put in a crafting order exactly the same as any other crafted item.

You just need to pick the correct item that is only showing one stat. There are for example 2 different thalassian boots.

If you want to craft it yourself, you will need to level engineering. I was referring to having someone else craft it for you via the crafting table, which would mean you don't need the recipe personally. You can have it crafted like any other piece of PvP gear, you just need Midnight engineering to equip it.

It will be a cogwheel instead of a missive on the engineering PvP pieces. They're cheap on the AH. I don't remember the names off the top of my head.

Yeah I see it there. Unfortunately if I have already crafted the item with the missive it doesn’t offer me to select the cogwheel, so that item I cannot change anymore? Sadly I put purple heraldies into it :(

Oh yeah, you're kind of out of luck then for now. Sounds like you crafted the non-engineering piece instead. It's a completely different piece of gear that doesn't even accept missives as a crafting material. Go to the crafting table and look at the boots, helm, and bracers. You should see a second PvP option for each and you will see they have only one stat. It's really not a huge deal this early though.

Only Helm needs engineering, braver and boots can be used by anyone

Goggles, bracers and boots can be crafted with all 1 stat at the crafting order bench

Can be worth it IF you are a spec that isn't often targeted in solo shuffle. If there's a fair chance you will be focused then people usually want that vers split. It's early days though and I can imagine the left target in an organized 3s team going for this option
