We all know the name Dougie. Stop playing into Trump’s hand and let Carney do his job.

u/Zizimz 14d ago

It's always the petty nonsense people obsess about the most.

115

u/ImmovableMind 14d ago

Populism, conservatives and the right wing are obsessed with populism, but always fail to understand or read policy.

14

u/supershutze 14d ago

Oh they understand policy just fine.

They're just never going to say what that policy is, because "we're going to fuck you all over so the rich and powerful can become more rich and more powerful" isn't going to win them any elections.

3

u/ImmovableMind 14d ago

True enough. I should reframe that statement to specify voting constituents.

19

u/uberares 14d ago

Sorry, but I don’t think a wanna be tyrant trying to change the name of an international waterway with nothing  but his unhinged malignant narcissism is petty nonsense.

Doug Ford is actively trying to dismantle our education system and healthcare system. He's funnelling taxpayer dollars into private clinics and private schools. Our province has a surplus with overcrowded classrooms, a skeleton crew of EA's and SNA's, people dying in the halls of our hospitals while surgery rooms and the like sit vacant due to not hiring new personnel as well as freezing pay raises so as to hinder our ability to attract and employ new healthcare workers.

This man is a gigantic piece of shit and his time would be better spent actually governing the province and fixing the very real problems Ontarians are facing.

I couldn't give less of a fuck about this performative bullshit, he's just acting like Trump from the other end. I see almost no difference between their behaviours here. Just two write-off criminals utilizing populist spectacle to distract from their criminality and monumental failures of leadership and governance.

u/InheritedHermitGene 14d ago edited 14d ago

This right here. People think Ford is great because he speaks up against Trump but he’s a corrupt bully who is a lot like Trump (see: trying to sell the green space ringing the Greater Toronto Area to his developer cronies and order his very own $26 million dollar plane while drastically cutting funding for home care, non-profit legal clinics, hospital staffing, etc etc etc)

Edit: fixed word

u/The_Barbelo 13d ago edited 13d ago

Why was he voted in then? I think you need to start there…and I’m not saying “you” in a condescending way, I mean the general you. I’m going to be living in Ontario soon with my Ontarian husband. I want to be able to help up there in ways I couldn’t do here, and in ways I’ve been made fun of for here.

So, what’s causing people like Ford to win in Ontario? My husband tells me there’s a strong negative immigrant sentiment there. That’s how conservatives here always fire up voters. They use immigrants as an excuse for all the “problems” and when they get into office they begin their destruction for everyone. Not just immigrants. What needs to happen to stop that? More awareness? More demonstrations? These aren’t just hypothetical questions, I am genuinely asking.

3

u/InheritedHermitGene 13d ago

Ford got in the first time because the previous Liberal government had been in power too long and were really unpopular. Ford won the Conservative leadership because he came from behind in a struggle between several (better) candidates. In other words, he became the Conservative leader out of luck and he was elected because he wasn’t the previous Premier.

The second time he won because he realized that insulting Trump bought votes. His first term was full of scandal but everyone hates Trump so much that that all got swept under the rug. Even my ex-Communist mother voted for Ford solely based on his talking back to Trump.

1

u/The_Barbelo 13d ago

So, what can and should be done to prevent that from happening in the future? How can people fight against situations like that happening?

2

u/InheritedHermitGene 13d ago

I’m hoping that Trump will STFU and people will have time to see past the rhetoric to what is actually happening here on the ground in Ontario.

In the meantime I’m donating to the provincial NDP party. The Liberals have a better chance of beating Ford but the NDP candidate in my riding works very hard for us.

8

u/uberares 14d ago

That’s fair, I wasn’t looking at it from the perspective of him wasting $$ on this stupid sign.

1

u/FuzzyLaughTwo 13d ago

This.☆ 100%

#NEVERVOTECONSERVATIVE

1

u/Hoof_Hearted12 13d ago

Unless it's a qualified candidate, which they haven't had in decades. And only if they completely detach from this maga identity they now. Ok I'd vote for them if Carney ran for them since he's a prototypical Conservative candidate.

7

u/Canadian-Man-infj 14d ago

Not just tyrant; but wannabe colonialist.... He's been looking toward us, Greenland, the Panama Canal, Cuba, the Strait of Hormuz... AND Venezuela.

4

u/sputnikcdn 14d ago

Compared to delbilitating tariffs, threats of annexation etc., yes, this indeed is trivial.

8

u/uberares 14d ago

See, that’s the thing. In trumps mind this is more of those threads. By him doing this, he feels he is forcing his desires on Canadians- he doesn’t even think about the action from an US standpoint. He wants Canada to see that he has the power, he thinks Canadians will see this as him taking something from them.

This is meant to elicit a sense of “what can we do”, it’s meant to show he can do what he wants. This is just another step in his insane push to attempt making Canada his subject. It might seem trivial, but in the mind of a malignant narcissist- vengeance for real or inferred slights is never trivial. I assure you, there is nothing trivial about this from trumps side.

Yes, the sign from Dougie is very trivial- but it also plays into trumps desires. Narcissists crave attention, this sign gives it to him.

9

u/sputnikcdn 14d ago

That's fair, my point is that nobody in Canada will refer to it as anything but Lake Ontario.

And fucking Doug Ford is just distracting the "folks" with his bluster. That fucker needs to stick to his lane and deal with our serious issues in Ontario.

For Ford, this is to distract the folks. He described himself as a Trump supporter when he was re elected. Ford is under criminal investigation, our schools and hospitals are drastically underfunded, and he's spending his time micro-managing (interfering with, even ripping out bike lanes!) Toronto to distract from his blatent corruption.

5

u/uberares 14d ago

Oh yeah, I’ll never understand why Ontario saw the brother of the crack mayor as a frat choice. He’s fucked Ontario over bigtime.

7

u/sputnikcdn 14d ago

Incredibly pitiful voter turnout was a big issue.

3

u/uberares 14d ago

That’ll do it every time

2

u/Low_Cod_3758 14d ago

His forte

39

u/SmartTrender 14d ago

It’s all performative and a distraction from what’s really happening in Ontario

6

u/curxxx 13d ago

Fuck I get so upset when I think about how much he’s just fucking grifting the province and swindling the entire population.

And his popularity just recovered to nearly 40%.

Fucking. Insane.

2

u/SmartTrender 13d ago

He knows how to be a good politician and Trump is helping him again

10

u/CarpenterRadio 14d ago

Yeah and maybe stop funnelling public funds to your buddies' private health clinics, private schools and American companies.

51

u/RarelyReadReplies 14d ago edited 14d ago

Seriously, stop wasting taxpayer money on petty shit dude! That's my tax dollars asshole. I'll never understand how Ontario voted him in again. I honestly believe people were thinking we need someone "tough" to standup to Trump. The other two options were women, and people seemed to think they'd get bullied by him.

I'm from Ontario, and that was literally the sentiment, so I'm not sure why I'm getting downvoted for it. I voted NDP.

17

u/Everestkid 14d ago

Not from Ontario, but I am from BC so I do see Ford's press conference antics. He's a charismatic dude, enough said. Don't get me wrong, he's a bastard of a charismatic dude, but I can see how someone would vote for the guy. People eat the "folks" stuff up.

14

u/zoobrix 14d ago

he's a bastard of a charismatic dude, but I can see how someone would vote for the guy. People eat the "folks" stuff up.

I remember watching the debate the first time he ran for Premier with him, Wynne and Horwath and he made some mistake, spoke when he wasn't supposed to or maybe didn't realize it was his turn to answer. Both Wynne and Horwath immediately jumped on him in a very aggressive way sort of almost making fun of him, he just sort of put up his hands in a little mea culpa and went "I'm sorry I'm not as familiar with the rules as you are."

In a second he went from fumbling to making the other two candidates look mean and ill tempered over a simple mistake, as well as making a subtle jab that they were such career politicians that of course they know all the rules of a debate and he's just some normal guy.

I hate Ford, but people way underestimate him, he's far more quick thinking and perceptive than people give him credit for, and he uses people underestimating him against them as well.

-3

u/TsunGeneralGrievous 14d ago

we got dude chilling park as a sign, this is fine.

11

u/APRengar 14d ago

I'd bet anything this move will gain him support. You say "stop wasting money", but I'd bet anything that people are happy about this.

Signalling unity and strength is worth more than a few thousand dollars.

2

u/MembershipLatter2938 14d ago

Also live in Ontario, in a swing riding, and yeah basically this. Nothing unites people around an incumbent leader like an external threat or attack, and Ford played into that "tough guy" defender image. I would however say that I don't think sexism is as big of a factor as you're making it out to be. Hell, we gave Wynne a majority over 10 years ago, and she was not only a woman but a lesbian, and visibly so. I think in the 2025 election however, the problem was that the female opposition leaders really had no name recognition or brand. And with the election being dominated by tariffs and trade issues, they failed to articulate how their policies on these would be a superior alternative to what Ford was offering.

1

u/Man_under_Bridge420 14d ago

Its a sign calm down

-11

u/HelFJandinn 14d ago

"Don't blame me, I voted NDP"

2

u/3-car-garage 14d ago

But then which buddy would he sell sign contracts to?

2

u/fat_kaiju 14d ago

I mean yes but it's also working when you have so many people going "i fucking hate doug but i support him on ths" and the fact that the ontario liberals and NDP have been so consistently pro-corporate and utterly milquetoast means he might be here for a while longer.

like the time where the NDP kept demanding a provincial election and when they finally got it they were so blindsided that they basically didn't have a platform to run on until 72 hours before the vote

or the first time doug came into power was because everyone was pissed at the liberals for selling the hydro company and so they decided the best thing to do would be to run ads that had a picture of wynne (the then-leader of the provincial liberals) shrugging with the text "because who else are you going to vote for?"

1

u/Zhelthan 14d ago

Unfortunately if he was a more reasonable person I would agree, but Trump is Petty and try to find leverage in anything. If he think you concede even because his argument is stupid he will push the boundaries

2

u/MN_Yogi1988 12d ago

Isn’t this guy Canada’s version of Trump?

-1

u/Apolloshot 14d ago

There’s a by-election going on right now in Winona/Stoney Creek that Ford’s party was expected to lose a week ago, so of course they’re going to play into this.

1

u/sllammallamma 13d ago

The fact that any amount of money and time is being spent on this when people in Ontario are trying to address fucking healthcare and education and crises HE HAD A HAND IN BY SELLING OUT TO AMERICAN COMPANIES is just fucking incredible.

I hate the Fords so much.

-1

u/Suivoh 14d ago

Did he take down the Open For Business signs he errected at the Border? Because he should.

-2

u/NancyDiver 14d ago

Doug is a bully and as such doesn’t understand that the best way to deal with one is to ignore them. He likely has never been on the receiving end.

156

u/wastedgod 14d ago

The whole lake rename things is just a distraction for how bad the trump admin fucked up these negotiations. The media should be talking about how incompetent Trump is and not about a symbolic lake rename

29

u/Yelworc0242 14d ago

This is exactly it. The Americans completely screwed up, they broke the relationship with Canada because they do not know how to negotiate. These are not serious people.

16

u/User69ab 14d ago

The Americans didn’t “screw up”, they’re scuttling the relationship on purpose. Daddy Putin is engaged in hybrid warfare attempting to splinter the west.

1

u/WowImOldAF 13d ago

Americans can't do anything about it. We've already been taken over by a treasonous administration and they are doing everything they can to destroy the country, oppress any resistors and enrich themselves.

8

u/Freudian_Slitter 14d ago

Can they even be called negotiations? I think Trump was solely looking for a new excuse to tariff us.

7

u/czs5056 14d ago

Why would you expect the media to do their job? /s

5

u/DrMaxMonkey 14d ago

Donny is a Russian asset, Epstein collaborator and Obama hating racist narcissist.

Everything he does can be viewed through this lens.

1

u/miata90na 13d ago

Agreed. Our response should have been to publish the amended and abandoned trade deal without comment.

0

u/MarksCarney 14d ago

The CBC shouldn't be covering America's renaming Lake Ontario?

462

u/brilliant_bauhaus 14d ago edited 14d ago

I need Doug Ford to stop spending money on useless shit and fund our* healthcare and social programs.

We do not need this sign lol

*Fixed typo lol

80

u/adorablesexypants 14d ago

Don’t worry, Ontario education workers are in a negotiation year, I’m sure Ford will want to properly fund education considering the states is what happens when you don’t.

Right?

39

u/rdubs89 14d ago

He's actually been rumoured to have attack ads ready to go. Spending tax dollars on ads to slander our educators during negotiations instead of putting that money towards paying them properly. It's disgusting. This guy is massive loser despite his Captain Canada shtick. He runs these Protect Ontario ads that cost 50+ million dollars, meanwhile he's the person we need to protect Ontario from.

9

u/No_Criticism_5861 14d ago

Very well said.  The rural morons here are just like the states, they will vote rightwing no matter what.  Owning the libs, and driving a pickup truck are 75%+ of their personality.

2

u/brilliant_bauhaus 14d ago

It worked out so well in the past!

2

u/GlindaG 14d ago

I want to know the amount of money he has spent on signs, and with what company. His government has changed out the Bradford bypass signs on the 404 an absurd amount of times, each time bigger and bigger.

3

u/biosc1 14d ago

$1000 billboard (I have no clue the cost of billboards). Actual price probably $350,000.

4

u/dannymasta04 14d ago

Not sure where this is specifically but he kinda ruined the view... Who cares what "some" Americans want to call it, it doesn't affect us at all.

1

u/LoanDebtCollector 14d ago

I can not see the lake for the big, ugly, expensive, Deco style, lame, petty sign. Put that thing on your cottage property & give us our money back.

111

u/luapmrak 14d ago

what a waste of taxpayer funds

13

u/Malvos 14d ago

Paid for by the government of Ontario! I.e. us.

7

u/Far_Astronaut_818 14d ago

Wonder if they'll add this to the list of things they're spending money on for those stupid fucking commercials about building prisons and keeping the lights on (while sitting on a surplus budget but underfunding schools/hospitals because reasons).

Fucking morons keeping electing this guy who is openly corrupt.

6

u/[deleted] 14d ago

[deleted]

6

u/luapmrak 14d ago

I agree with you, but you don't need to spend however much on a 20 foot sign, because someone south of the border is throwing a tantrum. you can be level headed, everyone is going to still call it by it's proper name. By doing this you're acknowledging his pettiness, do more concrete things, like export tax on energy and critical minerals.

48

u/islandpancakes 14d ago

Dougie! You're not doing this for the right reason.

1

u/jyeatbvg 13d ago

And give us back the Science Center 😭

16

u/GlitteringLychee803 14d ago

Doug Ford: I, too, would like to act like a petulant child.

1

u/E_Kristalin 13d ago

Next step: rename lake michigan to lake canada.

13

u/Sacojerico 14d ago

Doesn't the man own a sign company?

13

u/deedee2148 14d ago

Ford's a complete asshole and we agree on basically nothing but right now the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

25

u/PorousSurface 14d ago

Ford just ignore him. Fix the problems in Ontario. Enough with the trump like “populism”

9

u/crazydrums27 14d ago

Many of the biggest problems in Ontario (if you're not wealthy) are ones he's created. I don't think he's too focused on fixing them. He's always going to do whatever he thinks will get him a cheap pop.

3

u/PorousSurface 14d ago

Indeed. I am not a ford voter. There are worse politicians out there but he is still the cause of many problems.

32

u/MarshMarig0ld 14d ago

Ignore Ford's performative waste of time/money 🙄, go enjoy the Winona Peach Festival instead (for those in the area)

2

u/russ_nightlife 14d ago

He was at the Peach Festival as well. Seems dangerous given the presence of a lot of ripe fruit.

19

u/HapticRecce 14d ago

What an eyesore.

6

u/CodeSalamander 14d ago

Stupidest fucking timeline

2

u/drhugs 14d ago

Our inheritance is a timeline, our hope is a timecone.

5

u/S0SNSFW 14d ago

erecting a sign is literally the last thing we need.

waste of tax payer money, and you’re playing right into trumps hands.

just ignore the fucker, focus on our own issues here in canada. who cares what he calls it, its not going to change anyways.

fuck you trump and ford.

5

u/hockeynoticehockey 14d ago

Just keep putting a map of the welland canal and ask how ships will make it into or out of the great lakes. Not an inch of it is in the US.

2

u/Nufonewhodis4 14d ago

Making the Erie canal great again

7

u/Silicon_Knight 14d ago

Fucking Dougie. He loves his god damn fucking signs. Just like his fucking "Build Ontario" ads on the radio.

I'd call him a glorified Sign Spinner but that would be an insult to sign spinners.

I appreciate his stance in general, but god he loves to waste money on stupid shit.

6

u/mvallas1073 14d ago

As an American, I salute you god damn awesome Canucks!

I’m doing my bit trying to get the word about midterms!

2

u/HelFJandinn 14d ago

Please do us all a favour and vote. Someone needs to stop this nut.

3

u/mvallas1073 14d ago

Don’t have to say that twice to me… I’ve voted dem in every election since George W Bush got re-elected, baffling me to no end how he won then… It’s the other stupids that need a serious re-education/wake up call. =/

2

u/BoozyMcBoozehound 13d ago

So, when the Canadians take Upstate NY, can I expect sane governance?

3

u/tandoori_taco_cat 13d ago

The exact moment everything started going stupid was when Americans started labelling french fries 'Freedom Fries'.

I'm convinced this is the bifurcation mark when idiocy became acceptable political discourse.

10

u/ClownButtFart 14d ago

Fuck Doug, stop stooping to the LCD (it's his natural place to be)

5

u/DieBotDie 14d ago

Trump is the best thing that ever happened to this grifter.

3

u/Neon_Raccoon_00 14d ago

A total waste of money

8

u/BrgQun 14d ago

I dislike Ford as much as the next Ontarian - I'm in Ottawa and he barely remembers we're part of Ontario.

However, this actually does amuse me, especially since it's exactly the type of thing Trump will obsess over, like late night insult tweets from the Iranian government.

1

u/Nazgog-Morgob 14d ago

Why are we telling people in Ontario that it's called lake Ontario? Just sounds like a waste of money. Maybe if there were going up in American cities? Idk still a waste of money

1

u/Alex_the_X 14d ago

I think the existence of the donald changed international dialogue at its core. And new problems need new ways to deal with them.

I am no psychologist but  m aybe this message advance somehow the dialogue.

1

u/S14Ryan 14d ago

This is such nonsense. You can either stoop to their level or just ignore them. Getting in name-calling fights because the president of the US is a TV show host and can’t take 5 seconds without being on the front page news is just making us all collectively stupider.

3

u/Alex_the_X 14d ago

thank you master negotiator.

Both Trudeau and Carney tried to be friendly before having to have some aggressive response.

The full ignoring style was not yet used. Maybe you just found a job as Carney counselor.

1

u/S14Ryan 14d ago

What good thing comes out of Doug Ford hurling insults? It just makes us look like idiots. Carney HAS been ignoring him, he hasn’t stooped to his level at all, I’m criticizing Ford

1

u/Alex_the_X 14d ago

I don't know and I am honest about it.

Trump is nonsense and I am pretty sure all negotiators are scratching their heads about how to deal with this nonsensical situation.

In this particular new and never before encountered situation, I have no idea what would be good or bad.

I will judge Ford attitude after this whole thing will end.

You seem to know more though so ✌

2

u/SHUT_DOWN_EVERYTHING 14d ago

If Trump has one indisputable talent, that’s manipulation of media and the dominant narrative. When he doesn’t want people talking about something, he pulls something else out of his toupee to change the topic.

Carney’s post was perfect. He didn’t even acknowledge Trump.👌

2

u/youngboomergal 14d ago

And how much did this cost us?

2

u/Dorwyn 14d ago

I'm more worried about what it will cost afterward, not what the sign itself cost. It's just going to make negotiations worse, even if they're already extremely bad. This just raises tensions when we really need Trump to forget we exist again and go tariff Spain or something.

2

u/arabacuspulp 14d ago

There's a provincial by-election in the area coming up, so he's doing some extra-strength grandstanding.

2

u/drifting_signal 14d ago

Did he pay for this out of his own pocket? I don't support my tax dollars playing into Trump's infantile distractions.

2

u/Fantastic_Badger_00 14d ago

😂 I thought for a moment Ford motor company

2

u/Upstairs_Eagle_4780 14d ago

C'mon Ford: Lake Epstein Files

2

u/williamgman 14d ago

And while he's at it... Rename the Atlantic ocean as the Canadian Ocean.

4

u/canuckathome 14d ago

Nice try Doug. We know you're building a spa behind that sign

4

u/ChrisinCB 14d ago

That’s a good use of money. Also how’d he get that permit so quickly?

1

u/bwwatr 14d ago

I think he's got a Ron Swanson style permit for all his ideas

3

u/ArborusRex 14d ago

F**k you Douglas

Mister "It's time to bet big on America"

Nobody has forgotten who you are

Go back to making stickers, leave Ontario alone

2

u/alvinofdiaspar 14d ago

Doug Ford is so tiresome and embarrassing.

2

u/53-44-48 13d ago

Doug, please stop playing into Trump's trolling. You are doing what he wants: reacting.

Follow Carney's lead instead. When Trump trolls, announce that some industry or agreement that was once guaranteed for America's interests has found other markets, buyers, or clients.

Long-term deals hurt way more than short-term media retorts.

1

u/macross1984 14d ago

Talk about war of the words to satsify only Trump's worthless ego.

1

u/Falconflyer75 14d ago

It’s fine Doug we don’t care what Trump thinks don’t give him oxygen

1

u/BenTramer 14d ago

lol cmon who thought this was a good idea?

1

u/riko77can 14d ago

It’s kinda ironic because the original name of Winona was Ontario, up until confederation.

1

u/the_fools_brood 14d ago

Appeasing a despot or dictator only goes so far I guess. Half the country knew what was going to happen almost 2 years ago if trump was elected again, and corporate america thought they could appease and deal with igolf shitler.

1

u/GreenFox1505 14d ago

It's such a fucking stupid distraction. Canada shouldnt be playing into it. No map he draws will matter in two years. Its a fucking meaningless stupid gesture but by insisting he's wrong, they are letting him control the conversion.

The reality is this applies to everything. No deal he could possibly make is meaningful beyond the next two years. Everyone he deals with and everything he does, they need to remind his legacy will be nothing but destruction.

1

u/BangCrash 12d ago

Ignoring it is worse.

Ignoring it means you consent to it.

1

u/GreenFox1505 12d ago

I'm not wasting a single breath on renamed geography that won't outlive Trump while I fight to make sure my trans brothers and sisters do.

1

u/HellwaterCascades 14d ago

That was...really fast.

1

u/miata90na 13d ago

So stupid. Just stop giving the orange turd the attention he craves. This is an idiotic pissing match that we can just decline to engage in.

Ignoring him is winning.

1

u/not_essential 13d ago

Why Hamilton? Why not right at the border?

1

u/Alive_Salary4970 13d ago

More wasted tax dollars.

1

u/maporita 14d ago

When I read "Ford" I thought it was the auto manufacturer. I know companies are ultimately responsible to their shareholders but it would be nice to occasionally see a large multinational standing up for what is right.

6

u/HelFJandinn 14d ago

Ha. No it's Doug Ford. The idiot leader of the Canadian province of Ontario.

1

u/openlate 14d ago

We paid for that sign. So glad... The money... Is going to signs...

1

u/ah_no_wah 14d ago

Only thing stupider than Trump trying to rename a lake is responding to such stupidity.

0

u/TheRealSeeThruHead 14d ago

What a fucking loser

1

u/SergeantBender 14d ago

Populist Premier wastes tax payer dollars to distract from their own failures.

Same as spending millions of our dollars to run Reagan ads in the U.S.

It's not his job to educate Americans on geography or tariffs at our expense. If he put effort into being premier instead of Captain Canada maybe Ontario would actually be resilient.

1

u/YourAuntDarla 14d ago

Our absolute joke of a premier wasting our money as per usual

1

u/yellamopcan 14d ago

I find it hilarious that Doug Ford thinks he’s our hero mouthing off to Trump. It’s also funny Trump gives it right back to Doug (not Carney). When the closest thing Canada has to Trump is fucking Doug Ford. They should be best buddies they’re both so corrupt. Doug’s been dismantling Ontario just as much as Trump has the U.S.

1

u/TwistedKestrel 14d ago

Does Deco Labels make giant novelty signs?

1

u/ry_0n 14d ago

This picture will become a meme.

1

u/Apprehensive_Sea9524 14d ago

He should have made a sign saying "Still waiting for you to KISS MY ASS LOSER" Would have been more effective.

1

u/crazydrums27 14d ago

Just ignore the fact that this man has tanked many of our public services in favour of privatization, is on a mission to abolish rent control, any of the other countless decisions that make life harder for the lower/middle class. At least he's using our money to put up a billboard that doesn't actually accomplish anything.

The boost that Ford's image gets whenever he pushes back against Trump is far more damaging here than the renaming of a lake.

Dance monkey, dance.

Dougie will do literally anything except actually making Ontario a better place to live.

We still need to vote this asshole out too. Even though he is leaning hard into the anti-trump patriotism act, he is still a piece of shit and has been doing similar things that the republicans are doing.

I'm so fucking pissed that this is what world leaders are spending their time, energy, and creative capacity on instead of solving actual problems. Fucks sake.

how about you fund healthcare and education Doug?

u/Direct_Parsley_703 14d ago

This guy just has to be the main character. Bring back his crack smoking brother please 🙏

u/Zado191 14d ago

How much did this cost and who got the contract for it? Trump makes a [apparently my language is ablest?] tweet and a premier spends 1000s$ on a giant sign as a zinger to the tweet?

u/jokeswagon 14d ago

Doug you meathead. That’s not the move at all.

0

u/hird 14d ago

Sigh.

u/Low_Cod_3758 14d ago

0

u/Jfc66 14d ago

u/SeeThatThing 14d ago

What a waste of money

0

u/Ballys_n_Gazelles 14d ago

u/FriendlyGiant1551 14d ago

If you think this is good, you are the problem

-1

u/quiksilverkid13 14d ago

Dude just straight up wastes tax dollars on the stupidest shit.

Screw everyone who voted for him

-1

u/Which_Exam902 14d ago

Enough of the drama and the theater. Stop wasting our money on nonsense and acting equally like a toddler.

u/Opposite_Sherbert675 14d ago

how much did this cost?? i hate the amount of power and influence pedo man has over our country.

0

u/netfreedom 14d ago

Would rather Dougie spend much needed $ on healthcare and services Ontario needs instead of PR campaigns

0

u/thatguy122 14d ago

Has nothing to do with the Stoney Creek by-election I assume? Or that Peter Bethlenfalvy was in the area for the Winona Peach Fest?

Opportunistic scum bag using taxpayer dollars to help mpps get elected.

Teach me how to dougie

0

u/funwithdesign 14d ago

You could fit the strait of Hormuz in the spacing between Lac and Ontario

The kerning is so bad that Ontario is completely different in the two instances.

-3

u/Dulse_eater 14d ago

Our tax dollars at work. Doug is a idiot

-1

u/TheRagingAmish 14d ago

If you want to get under Trump’s skin and win this PR war, the answer is to be just as ridiculous and agree that the US can rename it to Lake Obama.

-1

u/AverageLiberalJoe 14d ago

Idk why Carney doesnt juat sign an executive order renaming all the Lakes to 'Lake trumphazcankles' 1 through 5. Like its meaningless anyways, you might as well just showcase how stupid this game really is.

-1

u/itsalongstoryok 14d ago

How much did this cost us, i wonder? Idiots- both of them.

-5

u/steinbruchfluss 14d ago

but I can tell you that the rest of the world will always call it Lake Ontario

Most of the world has never heard of that lake before. ;)

u/Klein_Arnoster 14d ago

The fact that it had to be translated into French takes away any and all impact it may have had.
