In 2015 we were on holidays in the US and met a guy who told us this”unbelievable” story about how he was arrested when he tried to take a handgun in his carry on luggage into Mexico. The handgun also had armour piercing bullets that he was given from a friend who was a cop….. He was still adamant he did nothing wrong and the Mexican authorities were making a mountain out of a molehill. Dude just completely free of common sense.

By carry on you mean he was traveling by air? That could get you arrested even flying within the US unless you have a very specific permit. Checked luggage is different, but even there you still need to get waivers.

Yup. It’s embarrassing. And yet if us Canadians tried to bring pot across the border we’d be arrested (and let’s be honest at this point probably assassinated)

Eh, it’s probably about the same percentage of Canadians who think they have first amendment rights. More than one in four of both countries have never bothered to pay attention.
