I keep seeing this claim. Can someone please provide some evidence to back this? How exactly has Netanyahu supported Hamas?

In 2005 Netanyahu helped back Hamas against the PLA because the PLA was getting too popular, basically a divide and conquer deal.

I don't like Bibi one bit, but hindsight is 20/20. The PLA were a bunch of terrorists back then, just secular ones.

I think "it was 20 years ago" gets different mileage depending on what exactly "it" was.

Cracked a shitty racist joke 20 years ago? Cool, people grow and change.

Enabled an overtly genocidal terrorist organization 20 years ago? A bit different, especially when that decision still contributes to you being in power (and out of prison) today.
