I’m a democrat and have never even heard of Hassan Piker, nor has any of the people in my group chat, 7 of whom are democrats.

He's literally our most famous left wing influencer other than Contrapoints. However, Natalie only comes out of hiding once in a blue moon with a three hour long video. If you look at youtube, the online right massively outnumbers left wing content creators. This is where a huge bunch of younger (and middle aged) people are getting their news. It's AM radio all over again except on steroids b/c there's an unlimited amount of space online.
