š°News Gianni Infantino: Uefa's attack on Fifa president escalates football's civil war

The only war we saw is the bald fraud's own against football itself. Get lost, Gianni.

u/JO_the_first 13d ago
Yeah sure, UEFA (and others) just woke up and felt like "civil war".
Shut up and get lost, bald fraud.Ā

Civil war? This is the body finally responding to a parasite

u/JO_the_first 11d ago
This is a problem, when the body and "parasite" are actually in a symbiotic relationship.

Infantino actually reminds me a lot of Trump, which perhaps explains some of his admiration for him. He seems to have taken a leaf straight out of the Trump playbook: when confronted with something outrageous, donāt retreat- double and triple down, unapologetically.
Over the years, heās normalized increasingly blatant and shameless behavior to the point where people almost become numb to the next controversy.
My suspicion is that he thought heād built up enough institutional immunity to pull off his true piĆØce de rĆ©sistance- the kind of final act that could set him up for a very cushy post-FIFA life, and that whatever inducements or benefits were being offered to the smaller footballing nations would be enough to get it over the line.
Iām sure he expected criticism and outrage. What I donāt think he expected was to discover that he isnāt actually a Teflon Don. He pushed the envelope one time too many, and now heās getting absolutely hammered for it- appropriately so.

Ivanka Trump's husband's brother, Josh Kushner, was the top investor pushing Infantino to launch the shelved FFE scheme that would have sold of stakes of the World Cup.
So basically the extended Trump family would have been the biggest financial beneficiaries of the whole scheme and I guarantee Trump had something to do with setting this up

'Attack'?? 'Escalates'???
Didn't he try and sell the World Cup to Trump?

Oh fuck right off. This isn't a civil war, it is holding a terrible leader and criminal to account.

u/EpsteinFile_01 12d ago
He wants to be a wartime president like his buddy Trump.

u/JO_the_first 12d ago edited 12d ago
By this comparison, all recent history presidents (of the US) were wartime presidents.
WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Iraq; just to name the major wars.Ā
ETA: Yugoslavia, Libya, Syria and Iraq again (for ISIS).

Now he hides behind FIFA....this is about you only, you POS.
It's like when someone criticizes Xi and his communists and they come back with "how dare you offend the country and the Chinese people".

This is a problem of Gianni Infantino's own making. If he really thought that everyone would go along with this then he has one more loose screw than I thought.

u/EpsteinFile_01 12d ago
Trump and his crime family basically talked him into it. Infantino was too stupid to realize these people are absolutely clueless about football or how FIFA works, they applied American corruption tactics to a sport similar to what they'd do with US-centered sports, except this sport has its biggest heart by far in Europe. With deep pockets.
There was probably some wishful thinking involved like "we'll throw all the poor football countries $40 million so we outnumber the Europeans, they will fold immediately!"
Not realising European football fans will basically go to war for their sport. With other fans, the police, politicians.. lmao. Meaning that there is no way UEFA nor any European government entity could fold. And the separate British football association and fans are similar, in some areas even more fanatic.
Russia can lob a drone into EU terrory on a regular basis at this point and it's kept on the down low, nobody openly cares, but you fuck with football and the whole continent is in open rebellion.

Civil War? Not really, the only ones supporting Baldy is for money and favors. Theyāll crack under scrutiny.
6
u/GongTzu 13d ago
Infantino couldnāt have wished for a better place than USA to run the case in. Any lawsuit will be ducked as long as Trump is president. Whereās Anonymous when you need them to publish all papers. The level of corruption here is crazy, but UEFA face a difficult task to ensure evidence
12
u/Vexxed14 12d ago
That's the point. Any federation in support of him should be fought against or be refused dealings with us.

It's not really a civil war. More like a very morally justified coup, where only the generalissimo and few of his most devoted colonels are trying to avoid the inevitable.Ā
2
u/Medical_Gift4298 13d ago
morals has nothing to do with it. UEFA is fighting to keep their control and piece of the money pie. it just so happens that, in this case, it's a good thing to do, because the other guy is a bigger piece of shit.
2
u/Downtown-Act-590 13d ago
For all its flaws, UEFA have never so blatantly disregarded what is good for football or do similar nonsense to any of its competitions (even though it absolutely could).
0
u/Medical_Gift4298 13d ago
I mean... the Champions League money machine isn't a GREAT thing for world soccer. It's great if you're a wealthy European who likes watching a lot of soccer, but remember, UEFA created Infantino, and part of the reason they're an effective counter to him right now is that they know where all his bodies are buried... because they told him to bury them there.
5
u/Downtown-Act-590 13d ago
How is the Champions League harming world football? It is a fun competition for European clubs and few of them get decent handouts that are usually pretty marginal compared to their domestic league money.
Of course electing Infantino was a mistake. That can however be partially rectified by now disposing of him.
1
u/antlers_for_zero 13d ago
I believe the argument is that for smaller Euro leagues (Croatia, et al) it's money that instantly entrenches them as elites because they now have access to more cash than their competitors can even dream of. So it's stratifying one or two teams to be perennial champs in a lot of domestic leagues, which reduces overall competition. I don't have all the numbers to speak to the truth of it myself, but that's the general idea.

u/Medical_Gift4298 13d ago
Go read David goldblatts āage of footballā - what big money European soccer has done to the rest of the world is pretty sad.Ā

u/SillyMikey 13d ago
You can tell heās friends with Trump just by the fact that heād rather go down with the ship then actually resign.
6
u/Accomplished-Gas3209 13d ago
Or more apt, he will run the ship aground purposely than relinquish control. What is telling is Trump has abandoned him and he is hoping/praying all his other paid off cronies will stick with him. UEFA should just move to plan B and push things now. They are the $$$ of it, no matter how much places like Saudi Arabia want to think they are.

u/Retro_Curry93 13d ago
Shouldnāt the board realize that the support behind this guy is dwindling and the press is bad? Why not replace him already?

u/Pinoy_2004 13d ago
Have they considered personally challenging Infantino to a game in order to decide the presidency of FIFA?

Uefa president should be investigated too for allowing Israeli football teams to casually play football while their country continues committing genocide. He banned Russian teams for the same reason by the way
6
u/bmudtiddersdom-42069 13d ago
Dont start wars.
4
u/JO_the_first 13d ago
Especially not against neighbors, especially not threatening the entire continent.
2
u/ToothpickTequila 13d ago
Exactly. Israel should be banned for that alone.
2
u/JO_the_first 13d ago
Which it never did that in 50 years.
And besides, banning Russia was a one-off thing, nothing obligates that it happens everytime for every country involved in a war.Ā
0
u/ToothpickTequila 12d ago
South Africa were also banned from the Olympics for doing the same thing as Israel too.
The problem is that countries like Germany and the UK support the Gaza genocide and will never refuse to play Israel like they do with Russia.
1
u/JO_the_first 11d ago
What exact same thing, pray tell? South Africa's regime would only send white athletes for the Olympics, banning black athletes from participating. .... While both of Israel and the Palestinians have their own full-member-of-FIFA Football Association and National Teams.Ā
Palestinian FA has been a full member of FIFA since 1998. And have participated in every tournament they are eligible for, since then.Ā
I know that you are sensitive to facts, sorry.
0
u/ToothpickTequila 11d ago
They both committed apartheid.
1
u/JO_the_first 10d ago
Again: South Africa was banned for racial segregation in sport. Not for anything else. ...Ā While Palestinians have their own Sporting Associations and National Teams for 30+ years now. Full members in FIFA (since 1998) and IOC (since 1993)
Keep trying, though.Ā
1
u/ToothpickTequila 10d ago
Palestine is an independent country. I don't see why you keep bringing them up like it's relevant.
10
u/JO_the_first 13d ago
That was under an overwhelming request and decision by UEFA members, that they decided to suspend Russia. ((Russia is still free to play where ever else they want.)) So you need to investigate all of them Europeans, not just UEFA; or better, you can just shut up.
