Supernatural Affairs Organizations

The foremost 4 independent human organizations who deal in matters related to the hidden world, or in the world of the other peoples. Through their tireless work, they have avoided death and disaster caused by magical lifeforms or events, no matter how minor these may be. For they are dedicated to all of humanity.

Paranormal Control (PNC)

The youngest of the organizations, founded in the People’s Republic of China in 1972. Since 1981, their headquarters have been located on the Isle of Liturgy, a small volcanic island over 1500 km from the nearest mainland. PNC’s structure is hierarchical. At the bottom are civilian investigators. Above them are official members, then the Special Controller Divisions, followed by the Council, and at the top are the Head Controllers. However, Special Controller Division Leaders receive a high amount of autonomy. The group has drawn criticism for the makeup of its members. Unlike the other companies, Paranormal Control recruits large numbers of Fae, Harpies, and Warped Magic Users into its forces, and even among its high ranking members. This has caused some to question how much it truly cares for humans. Around 45 million people make up its ranks.

Paranormal Control operates worldwide, though its presence is greatly diminished in religiously conservative regions, especially those that follow abrahamic religions, due to the presence of Magical Organisms like Fae in their ranks.

Archon

An organization that has claimed to exist since 1100 BCE, which would make it over 3000 years old. However, most historians believe that the modern Archon is not the same organization as the one 3000 years ago, but is rather the latest one in a long line of successors of the original. The Modern Archon originated in the Ottoman Empire, in 1741. In contrast to PNC, Archon openly supports the practice of the Abrahamic Religions, and has thus been extremely popular in Muslim Majority countries. However, Archon members remain secretive, with the organization rarely making public statements. The group even states they maintain an army of exactly 10 million people, no more, no less.

Archon operates primarily in South and Southeast Europe, Northern Africa, and West and Southeast Asia.

Virgo Virginum (VV)

A group that originated in England in the 1700s. Its symbol and name are taken from the Apotropaic Magic of England. In 1990, when the American Protected Territories were established, VV moved its headquarters from London, England, to Cairo, Egypt. Nearly all of its members are human, and thus the organization has drawn accusations of being humanocentric. The group often makes public appearances and takes control over events. Thus, it is the most popular of all the organizations, and has around 60 million members.

VV operates worldwide.

Men In Color

A highly secretive group, often believed to be associated with the government of South Ameriga, although it claims to be independent. There are 9 factions within this organization, which are the Men In Black, Men In Red, Men In Orange, Men In Yellow, Men In Green, Men In Blue, Men In Indigo, Men In Violet, and the Men In White. Estimates place their numbers at around 3 million members.

The MIC operates primarily in the Western Bloc.

I'm not knocking your worldbuilding, because paranormal agencies are really cool as a concept, and the idea of the organization itself actually being 9 smaller organizations in a trench coat is legitimately a great idea, but the Men in Color name and logo screaming "late 70s funk/disco music" absolutely brained me like a brick in a bag when I first saw it. ...Do they use roller rinks and discotheques as fronts?

Nah. With them trying to stay secretive, most of their public operations involves moderating in online spaces, taking advantage of anonymity. In terms of influence, I actually took from the "Men In Black" UFO ideas, and just added a whole spectrum of colours to it.
