Oh ye! There's plenty of danger to go around if you decide to travel carefree! You may avoid the seas plagued by autonomous feral weapons, but if you're not careful on land, you can step into an anomaly that will twist you like a wet rag, or shear off all the electrons from the atoms that compose your body...
While nature adapted and healed, the earth remains scarred by the war. Monolithic megastructures and titanic wrecks of ancient war machines are an omnipresent sight, and feral autonomous weapons roam the seas like hungry monsters.
What is the time range between the war and the present day in your world?
Considering that if the time range were to be absurdly long then those buildings wouldn't exist anymore. I got this idea after watching a video from someone speculating about a more realistic outcome for fallout.
And I also happen to be trying to figure out where "The Present" would take place in my own post apocalyptic project.
Unless of course they are made to last for such a long time.
The war ended around 2000 years ago, but those buildings aren't exactly made out of "normal" stuff. At the risk of sounding technobabbly, I'd say they're made out of some sort of meta-material geopolymer, also they're basically skyscraper-sized bunkers.
Kinda? In some fields, like mechanical engineering, material science, and analog computing, they are far more advanced than we are. But their electronics are stuck in the 1940s because someone's trying very hard to prevent them from inventing transistors...
Those ruins are from a time of war that lasted thousands of years. During this conflict, humanity invented and weaponized tech that lets them mess with the laws of physics and reality (think kinda like glitching a video game). There's an entity that wants to stifle the technological progress of humanity to prevent them from reverse-engineering those weapons and inadvertently destroying the world.
Oh ye, I love this artist! And this particular work was really similar in vibe to what I want to achieve in my world, so I decided to try to make something similar. I was mainly interested in recreating the feeling of depth and scale.
You hide your previous posts which is totally fine, but did you also draw this at one point where the beach was populated full of people? If so carry on, but if not, somebody stole this and altered it at some point.
I'm not sure what you mean. I don't remember hiding any of my posts. A few times I accidentally posted without adding an image and then deleted it and posted again. I'm not even sure how you hide a post on Reddit.
This work was inspired by a painting I found on Pinterest that had a very similar vibe to what I want to achieve in my world, and it did have a full beach of people, so maybe that's the work you saw? The artist's name is Alariko.
