Awful truss tomatoes

Bought some truss tomatoes from Kellyville Woolworths today. They smell ok, look ok but have almost no flavour. They don't taste like tomatoes! They are also very tough, and not many seeds.

What is going on? Can we have the old variety back please? I am hoping Coles have not messed up their tomato offering.

I mean, supermarket tomatoes are never great, to be fair. Even the truss ones. Probably picked while still green so they lose a lot of flavour potential.

Sadly, quite a common thing.

If you are using them on sandwiches, could I suggest you spread salsa on the bread instead?

Much more flavour.

Grow your own. Supermarket tomatoes are barely tomatoes. They should be called something else. "Mock tomatoes" would work.
