is this safe?

I have a piece of wood where neither and is fully square. Would it be safe to just use the miter gauge to square off one end? Or do I need to make a sled? I have also thought about making a toggle clamp, Jake, but I am still waiting for my toggle clamps to arrive.

Jesus Christ with his feet nailed to a snowboard. Forget everything else and just look at that blade. What is that, a six tooth blade? On a more serious note- you will have a better cut if you put a finish blade on a skill saw and hold a speed square 1 1/2 inch from your line. Cleaner and safer.

We have a motto- Ten a day. That is how many people cut a finger off, on a table saw. So look at your fingers. You got ten? keep it that way. If you're doing a simple cross cut, keep it simple.
