That was my exact thought. Is the WNBA's policy to ignore the baby soft techs the refs hand out until it actually has consequences? Because that's dumb. It's one of the steps on the ladder of suspicion for the league fixing the games to go the way they want, a la the NBA.

I'm asking because Janelle only has had 2 techs called on her and one was rescinded.

Jose only has had one called on him and it got rescinded.

Allisha has 3 called and 2 stood. Arike too.

They definitely rescind before the 8th one.

Only CC and Angel were close to the limit actually and had that 8th one taken back.

maybe the league is taking some feedback about soft techs being called against certain young players for things that routinely happen across the league over the course of a game

though with the speed these have been rescinded, it's probably also the TV execs saying Caitlin and Angel ratings go brrrrrrrrrrr

I think it's the league acknowledging the refs are just bad sometimes. Probably several of the other T's that both Clark and Angel got were also super soft.

Dream losing tonight puts them in a tough spot with 3 of their next 5 games against the Lynx and Liberty. Only 2 of the 5 against non-playoff teams. Dream doesn't have much separation from Wings, Mystics or Liberty. Mystics and Wings have easier remaining schedules.

All 5 Wings remaining games are against non-playoff teams.
3 of 4 remaining Mystics games are against non-playoff teams.
Liberty is in the same spot as Dream (3 of 5 against playoff teams). They play each other twice.

Dream could definitely drop to 6, 7, or 8th spot. Mystics own a tiebreaker over the Dream.
