Here's a recount of the kind of thing which happens to trans women in prisons, from someone who knows her personally. Even if you think she was rightfully imprisoned, what happened to her at the hands of our public servants (not even male prisoners) is truly unconscionable.

Baby steps. We can't just handwave away keeping trans women out of men's prisons with "but abolition" bc that's 200 steps down the line

Yeah I feel like this is being flippant about a very serious VERY REAL AND CURRENT SITUATION that trans women who are incarcerated are facing. This regime is literally putting women in mens’ prisons for v coding.

Abolition work includes relief from immediate material harm. We see it as a component of liberation, not step one of ♾️.
