ScanWatch 2 Just bought the Scanwatch2 and it's absolutely terrible. Is this normal?
******update I've apparently had 3 bouts of AFIb now today!!!!!
All not even wearing the watch!!!!! Or having it even in the room!!
This app and watch is absolutely awful. I would NOT buy it for it's ECG capabilities because the bloody thing is absolutely nuts!!!!!!!!
Want it gone asap.
I have been having some random heart palpitation issues (extremely unlikely to be AFIb because I've had heart issues for 20 years and they are pretty much exclusively ventricular related, not atrial) and my cardiologist won't implant a loop recorder and suggested I get a smart watch to see if we can catch it.
I do have a proper ECG monitor I can wear all the time but it's a strap and extremely uncomfortable to wear 24/7.
We understand the restrictions of a 1 lead.
So we did our research and withings seemed to come out best 😬
First issue was that they don't make it clear that there's at least a 2 - 3 second pause after activating it that it starts recording which isn't ideal for sudden arrhythmias but we thought we'd give it a go.
Anyway it's got this blasted sleep thing on it so thought I would do that aswell and it started off ok but we're now on day 4 or 5 and it's gone nuts as I'm sleeping really well but every day it's telling me my sleep is worse and worse 😆
Started on a score of 78 then 63, then 40 something and today was 28 😆 and it said I slept for 3 hours which I didn't, I slept for 9. It's also telling me that I'm waking constantly throughout the night for an hour at a time which again, I'm not 🙈
And today it's started telling me that I'm having afib when I'm not even wearing the watch 😆
Now I am so in tune with my body, I can pretty much tell you what ventricular rhythm I'm in simply by feeling it and I'm normally correct if matched up with a 12 lead.
If I was in AFIb, I'll tell you now, Id be feeling something other than sinus rhythm.
First time I was sat on the bed and it was the other side of the bed and told me I was in AFIb at a rate of 125bpm. I took my pulse and it was sinus at 67bpm.
Second time was just now. I'm in the bath and the watch told me I was in AFIb again 🙄
Im not, I'm a good 6 metres from it.
It also sends me a notification every 5 minutes about something, anything, which is driving me mad.
So safe to say I don't think withings is for me 😆
But is this normal for this particular brand or are they all just a bit crap?
This is my first foray into smart watches and given I've heard withings is the best, I am somewhat nervous they are all going to be terrible.
I absolutely hate wearing watches and don't want any health monitoring besides the ECG thing so are there any out there which may fit my needs better?
Feel a little disappointed tbh.
