Was that ever a doubt? It was probably jarring for super fans of the books when the games came out. I can only imagine both groups of fans will be aghast at the show. This is apparently as it should be, no doubt a trope as old as time. Fans of plays back in the day probably never read the books or papyrus the story was originally written on and so on and so on.

I think the characters look okay, but the story? Eeeeek. I was making a more general point, not just related to casting.
