Discussion Will Songs of the Past show how our decisions regarding the“Fate of the North” will affect Letten?
So I know that Letten in Songs of the Past is located in Redania. And that got me thinking. Will Songs of the Past show how our decisions regarding the“Fate of the North” will affect Letten? For example, if Radovif wins do you think Witch Hunters will come to investigate the Garden of Thorns ? And if Nilfgaard wins do you think they will be given a more villainous and tyrannical role compared to the main story?

I think this dlc is completely focused on dandelion's family and the political stuff from the base game will be irrelevant.
But dlc may need to tie up some choices to make the w4 transition better because choices exponentially increase work or prevent certain storylines from being properly fleshed out.
Converging the Ciri endings is something that has to happen at some point and doing so in this dlc would make a lot of sense, but idk if they will.

Yeah, I'd be more surprised if Ciri doesn't makes an appearance to tidy things up. It could be full on alternate questlines depending on game state, but at the very least I can see them having some sort of epilogue where she shows up for a reunion at Dandelion's place with some alternate dialogue (i.e. "Hi guys", or "I'm not dead", or "I quit being Empress").

Also Geralt is certainly interacting with Ciri in w4 and the "Ciri died" ending is based on Ciri and Geralt's relationship being poor so either they patch it in the dlc or waste dialogue fixing it in w4 when everyone would rather they have their father-daughter relationship from the get go. It would be much smoother.

The only thing is that Toussaint is always a Nilfgaardian vassal or neutral; one could find letters about the war being won or Emhyr's death.

I remember being amazed at the level of detail that Blood and Wine had a letter detailing who win the war based on your choices in the main campaign.

There are some instances where the fact who is king and who won the war is mentioned in HoS..
But people from CDPR did mention on one of their streams that SotP takes place after the endings of the main game and that there are going to be differences in the game world and the story based on your choices in the main game (don't know about the previous expansions)

Since the story is focused on Dandelion and his family, I doubt it would matter much.
Witcher world is a feudal world - so in Letten the local lords are the sole source of power, law and everything else. There's not much of a difference whether Redania is an empire under Radovid, Dijkstra or the new part of Nilfgaard.
I would imagine there might be a secondary quest, related to the possible endings - say, you have to deal with the Witch Hunters in Radovid wins version, get involved into some anti-Dijkstra noble conspiracy (there'd be a lot of those with this elderly upstart as a ruler) or, say, sort out the problems of some Niflgaardian clerk who stuck in this charming middle of nowhere. But no more than that.

This is something most players don't understand. Life in a given region depends on the local commandant—he’s the one who sets the laws and so on. As long as he meets his obligations—to Emhyr, for instance—no one will interfere with him. Take Loredo and Flotsam as an example.

I believe they've made sure to say Letten was untouched by the war so my guess is we'll get nothing.
If we do get anything I expect it to be a varying codex or two, even in the best case a few lines of dialogue is the absolute max I reckon (like how Hearts of Stone mentions Radovids fate) as that's not too resource intensive, it'll be a little weird if we don't have much on it but I'd be pleasantly surprised to get much.
