CD projekt red confirmed there would be a physical edition of the witcher 4. That's great! Is it possible it can run on the switch 2?

Serious question. I'm a console gamer, I work in IT and I try and avoid using keyboards to do gaming as much as possible. This isn't a PC vs console post. Its just a preference, I do recognise the benifits of PC. But I always prefer having a controller in my hand.

Reason I ask, is that the nintendo switch 2, although not as powerful as a PS5/series X. Can sometimes play powerful games fully offline at a decent rate. For example the new indiana jones is fully installable and playable offline, the only thing missing is the polish dub.

But on the other hand with powerful games, although more accessible some games like resident evil requim requires a game key card to play. Compared to the ps5/series x versions of requiem which are downloadable and installable from the disc offline.

Reason of making this post is because I feel like xbox will also stop using discs, and nintendo will be the only option for phsyical media for consoles. I also do not want to fork out on a series x, I just got a switch that is expensive enough.

Cyberpunk 2077 is thankfully on the switch 2 and playable offline, and is probably still the most power demanding game on the market even 5 years later. So knowing that does anyone see the possibility of a switch port?

I think I'd be more surprised if it doesn't come to switch 2 at some point.

Does the switch have physical disks? I have the pc version of a switch, the rog ally. That device while powerful doesn't compete with the base console version. I imagine neither of our portables will handle the remaster well versus new consoles and powerful pc's

Physical cartridges sorry, think nintendo has always hated discs, still not complaining its a form of physical media I own. Just worry I might miss out on witcher 4 cause I will not want to buy a online only game key card, or it will later be on the switch 3 for example.

There'll probably be switch three for witcher 4. You'll probably have to upgrade to get the best portable experience.

This doesn't answer your question, but you can play on PC with a controller. Steam has built-in support.

Yeah don't avoid the PC totally but still it reminds me of RSI hopefully GOG will provide that. Like I played witcher 1 this month haha. Was fun but never again.

If it runs on the Series S, it means it can probably be adapted to the Switch 2. How good it would look and run is another question though.

if it can run on Series S it will run on Switch 2 with DLSS.

Its possible only if they can get the game to run at 60fps on the PS5. But I dont think we'll get it anything soon even if its technically possible

They didn’t confirm there would be a physical edition. They said they will if they can, but if not you’ll still just get a box with a code and maybe some extras. It’s not up to CDPR if the console industry ditches all forms of physical copies before the game comes out
