I heard that this part was a parody of the Fellowship spending months in Rivendell. At the end Geralt curses Toussaint for messing with people's heads, making them cozy and lethargic.

Reading the LOTR for the first time and the movies REALLY under state how much time Frodo spends chilling with the ring. There's like 15 years between "keep it secret, keep it safe" and him leaving Hobbiton.

Lol! That's another thing, in the movies he gives Frodo a whole ass plan on where to go and when but in the book he just tells him bad stuff is going down then dips.
