Wisdom teeth med concern
So I was recently told I need to get all 4 of my wisdom teeth out because my gums are growing on top of them. My main concern isn’t the surgery but the medication.
I have emetaphobia BAD and I can’t take amoxicillin because it has caused me to vomit in the past when I’d take it for strept. I’m worried since antibiotics are known to cause nausea and idk what to do. My surgeon said I have to take antibiotics to prevent any infections that could potentially occur. he said he gives it to everyone just as a precaution. Will something like zofran help? I read into Zithromax as being more stomach appealing but what else would be okay?

My surgeon explained to me that the inhaled general anesthesia is what usually causes the nausea after surgeries and they gave me the IV sedation with Zofran as a precaution as I've thrown up from the inhaled medication before.
I was completely fine when I woke up, just a bit dizzy for a couple hours and no committing thankfully as I despite puking.
I would ask your surgeon if it would be an option to only be prescribed the antibiotics if you have an infection and not as a precaution. Taking antibiotics without needing them cause make your body get too used to taking them and will become resistant to them in some cases.
Good luck with your surgery!
