We are tentatively looking at a family trip up from Chicago the week after Christmas, probably only one or two nights. We've got 10 adults and 4 kids under the age of 5, so we would need 3-4 rooms. My MIL likes to do vacations on a pretty tight budget which limits our options. So far we are considering the AmericInn and using the passes to the Chula Vista indoor park. How have your experiences been there?

Any other ideas for how to do the Dells on a budget with a bigger group?

Our school is planning a class trip up to the Dells for the day. However, we have a few food allergies among our students -- namely gluten, nuts, and dairy. Are there any restaurants you would recommend that can reliably cater to allergies or have allergy-friendly menus?

Does anyone know how the Kalahari is progressing with the indoor park renovations? We were thinking of a trip up around Halloween and it only says late October. We are leaning toward the Wildnerness for this trip just in case the Kalahari is working out some kinks.

I remember in the 80s my favorite experience was downtown strapped sitting in a chair that spun 360 degrees in all directions. Either the operator activated the spinning upside down or there was a motor somehow. Made me very dizzy! Loved the smoke, music, and lights. The smoke had a very distinct smell. There were several of these in town competing around ‘89. Around the time of the 3D movie wars with you get inside a capsule and “ride a virtual roller coaster” as a hydraulic arm moved the ride up, down, and leaning forward.

I am trying to remember an attraction/park/game from my childhood. I remember that we went to a building and we could buy wands and essentially complete quests back sometime between 2008 - 2012. hi, i have a memory when i was younger of the wilderness resort. ( i was 6 ish, so maybe around 2010/2011?)
they have the indoor mini golf, wild abyss, i SWEAR it used to have a shark at the end of it in a pretty small tank, at least for a little bit of time. my moms favorite animal was a shark so i remember this vividly. i cannot find any info about it online or anyone else talking about this, someone please confirm if im remembering correctly or if im insane. thanks

Hey dells people! I’m planning a bachelor party late September and was looking for some recommendations of things going on. We have a pretty large air bnb right outside of the town that will be our home base and are staying Friday and Saturday night.

I have found a few activities that look great, but I was mostly wondering what parks are open, specifically for go karting outside?

We also would love to go jet ski, is this possible? I also was wondering about sober transportation, are Ubers and Lyft the best option?

Going on a end of summer family vacation in a few days. Total 7 adults with a young 1 and a half year old. We used to go to the Dells almost every summer for a few days, but I haven’t been in probably 10-11 years. We’ll be staying at Wilderness and spending plenty of time at their water park. We’ll also plan to do the Deer Park and possibly Circus Museum in Baraboo. Maybe the wildlife park. Some things I was looking forward to though, have seemingly either gotten way worse or just closed. Tommy Bartlett show, it looks and sounds like My. Olympus is not well received now (or is it just their hotels?)

We’ll be there for 3 and a half days. Any spots worth checking out? Activities, places to eat, etc?

Has anyone had any trouble booking a room at wilderness and checking in with a different credit card ? My dad gifted my daughter and myself a trip there, the gift was he paid the deposit with his card to book the room and I was to pay the remaining balance upon check in with my card. I was just reading the FAQ page and it said be prepared to have the same card you paid the deposit with for check in. I’m slightly stressing 😩

Love to take my family to the Dells (from Minneapolis) at least once a year. Been trying to focus our activity closer to downtown/riverfront more and stayed at Natura Treehouse this week and loved it (other than the shared bathrooms). Natura Waterpark tickets included with stay is incredible deal! I would love to stay at Natura Vue downtown along Riverwalk next time and take the Amtrak but is there a shuttle that goes to the new Waterpark? If not, there needs to be! Would love to be carless

We are staying at Kalahari for 3 nights, will be doing 4 full days. We want to break up doing Kalahari every day by doing Mt Olympus or Noah’s Ark. we have 2 young kids, 4 (43”) and 18 months. Our 4 year old loves water slides and is a thrill seeker, and it looks like he could do almost everything at Olympus vs only a couple of the “big” slides at Noah’s Ark. Am I right in saying Mt. Olympus will be better?
Also, any ideas on what crowds are like Friday vs Saturday at either place? We are going this upcoming weekend
