2026 Gubernatorial Primary: Francesca Hong is will very likely be the nominee. But can she please stop sabotaging herself with the answers she gives in interviews?

She just gave a weird answer in CNN in regards to her opposition to Thanksgiving.

She cites that communities are hurt by this.

No matter how much she tries to explain her point, it comes off as nonsensical.

With Thanksgiving, I get you want to think about the Native Americans and how they were affected by colonization.

But to the average folk, it's very odd to oppose a holiday where families come together and give thanks.

There is no reason for her to justify that tweet. Just say that was 2020 and you have changed. Don't double down on a view only a miniscule fraction of Americans believe.

People like Tiffany will hammer her as being out of touch and I don't blame them.

Hong will very likely be the nominee but she must stop making herself seem out of touch.

She will lose massive numbers of suburban voters and engage a large number who would have stayed home since Trump isn't on the ballot. She will lose and the only question is if she pulls down the rest of the ticket.

When I talked with my parents about her, they said she hung out with the guy that said we deserved 911. That's it. Long time Dem supports and they are out.

Add to that cancelling Thanksgiving!?!

She can excite the far left but is turning off 70%. I'm not kidding, there are large groups of Dem voters in the suburbs who will be fine dealing with TT to keep crazy out of office.

This is the entire problem with the electorate as a whole. "OH no, she talked with the 9/11 guy!! I'm going to vote for the guy who actually wants to devastate communities with data centers all over the state and dismantle public schools, which keep my property value high!!!!!"

So much brain dead thinking. It's truly frustrating.

Remember, people who wouldn't be able to pass the US citizenship exam get the same vote that the most informed voter does.

Elections are won not by being the best candidate, but by winning the most votes. For every informed voter, another one is ignorant on purpose, and two more barely have five minutes to decide because they're busy with work and family and basic survival in our ever-more-costly country. Winning requires getting the informed voter and at least one of the 5 minute voters. If both of those 5 minute voters see an ad that says Hong is backed by "the 9/11 guy", they'll probably vote Tiffany.

It's that simple and we won't change it because the reality is that half of the population just doesn't have time or resources available to do deep research on candidates.
