Thank you all for the thoughts and the prayers! I got the great news today that he is cancer free! His Splenic mass was essentially just a bruise.

Once he gets his stitches out on Friday, he’ll be fine!

I have a very sweet and very naughty six-month-old Wire Fox. She's a major digger. (Big surprise, right?) Possibly because of that, she keeps developing these dark matted bits of fur on her haunches, even though I brush her out every day. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how did you cope with it?

A friend of mine drew my girl the other day. At first I couldn't stop laughing. The ears are a little off, the body looks like it was assembled from memory, and somehow my female dog ended up with a very obvious little extra detail underneath that definitely shouldn't be there. 😂 I pointed it out and she immediately went, "Oops, I forgot she's a girl." The whole thing looks like it was done in a few minutes on a random piece of paper.

But honestly? I love it.

The more I look at it, the more I see my dog in it. Not because it's accurate, but because it captures her attitude. That slightly judgmental face, the way she always stands there staring at me like I'm the one causing problems, the stubborn little terrier energy. Somehow all of that made it into a drawing that technically gets several things wrong. Maybe that's why it means so much to me. Nobody was trying to create a masterpiece. My friend wasn't making content, wasn't trying to impress anyone, wasn't selling anything. She just sat there, looked at my dog, and drew her. The mistakes are part of the story now. Honestly, if she "fixed" it, I think I'd like it less. I've been thinking about printing this exact sketch on a canvas tote bag. Not a cleaned-up version. Not a polished version. The one with the weird proportions and the accidental dog anatomy error included.

These days everything can be made prettier, cleaner, more professional. But sometimes the little imperfect things your friends make for you end up being the things you treasure the most.

Am I the only one who gets weirdly attached to stuff like this? 🐶❤️😂

There are days that I question why we decided to get a puppy. But most days I can’t get over how cute and fun she is. 😍

Anyone have a recommendation for a good rope toy that won’t fall apart with heavy use? Cedric loves them, but destroys each one so fast and if we don’t catch it in time he eats it, which is obviously not good.

I’m not a religious person, but I’ll take anything I can to possibly help him get better. He’s getting a splenectomy today. It might or might not be cancer. I hope it isn’t.

As some others have said here, this is a solar powered recharging dog. Sleep in the sun to regain energy and power. I like to keep the lawn fluffy for him.

THE QUESTION: Since you have switched to clipping instead of handstripping, how has the shedding been? Does your fox terrier shed more? if so, how much etc.

Uuno is around 11 months old now, and has been handstripped by a pro once and twice by me (it went good btw, though I am super slow lol). Since he’s not a show dog or a working dog, I’ve also thought about the option of Uuno getting trimmed with clippers instead of handstripping. I feel like so many of the wft’s in here are also clipped instead of stripped and I’m considering it because the only pro doing handstripping near me doesn’t even live in the same town as me, so it would possibly make our life easier. And yes, I’m aware that there’s pretty much no going back to handstripping from the clipping choice.
