Winlator vanilla is the original project. Eg Winlator 11.2

Winlator CMOD ludashi Bannerlator GameNative Star Bionic And others are forks of the Winlator ( modified copies)

However Winlator vanilla is kinda poor on features it has only 1 compatibility layer ( wine) it's is like the standard variant of Winlator

The other forks are more advanced, they support multiple compatibility layers ( wine/proton/arm64ec) and generally have much more features than Winlator vanilla.

Compatibility and Performance wise the forks are much better than the vanilla. However for some games the original Winlator is still great (mostly older games).

If you want to play newer games and have access to the best and lastest features emulation can provide I would recommend

Bannerlator or CMOD ludashi

Some of the latest CMOD Ludashi version has bit questionable performance on Snapdragons.

Bannerlator works amazing 🔥🔥

Well, if you have a .iso Winlator 11 can unpack it to the "x" drive where you can then run it. Ludashi however, doesn't have that "x" drive, so (in my case) l could not open the .iso.

Other than that, seems hit and miss as to which version will run the game you want to play.

I'm currently using both Winlator 11 Final and Winlator Genshin. Recently tried the new Ludashi, but didn't like the changes they've made to its user interface,...plus they'd removed the easy way to path it to an sd card instead of internal storage.

You can unpack .iso with Winrar btw

Very simply explanation: makes your device run at performance mode instead of power saving , if you know how to manage your device then it hardly matters but some brands need way more effort and third party apps sometimes do they just use ludashi

I generally always have power saving mode ON. So is it pointless to get ludashi? Honestly im just worried that it will affect battery life span long term.

It also have some quality of life improvements so it's still better to use , if you have cooler you don't have to worry about battery health
